  1. Tom Mc and the Weid zero points after 5 games, yet huge no of inside 50’s in a number of our games. Don’t get how they couldn’t have 1 point with nearly a quarter of the season gone. Something fishy going on. TMac injured? Weid already got at?
  2. He’s not playing well at the moment but that’s harsh.
  3. I find the reversal in TMc form hard to fathom. He’s a very good player, but simply can’t find it. Surely there is a problem here.
  4. He did play a very good game and a big part of getting us over the line, but it was due ,maybe overdue ,it was round 4. Hope he maintains the form against the Saints and shows the way again . Last year was a huge disappointment against them. Has a bit more to do to really restore the faith.

Sparrow and Jordan are kids and might make you eat your words one day. To call them rubbish is crazy. They are not the cause of the clubs malaise. Good to see Maynard find some form after some ordinary luck with injury and Billy Stretch hasn’t given it away. Would like them both to get a chance.
  6. If you overpay for something that doesn’t work, it’s hard to consider it a wise decision, particularly when what you purchase has an injury predisposition cloud. The opportunity cost on this transaction is looking pretty aweful right now.
  7. Never EVER pay two first round draft picks for anybody.
  8. The Elephant in the room is the co captains.
  9. I thought of the similarity to last year against Geelong too. Bombing it to a static forward line pretty much the same. Slow learners or haven’t got the message? The week before ,PA’s forward entries, being so precise ,made our defensive zone somewhat meaningless and made it easier for PA to deliver. Same again with Geelong. Turnovers from ineffective forward work is going to kill anyone with the new rules because you won’t be able to cover the quick , precise rebound pick off or have an extra bloke as insurance down there. Others have seen it and it’s happened twice now. New rules might make it more about ability than grunt in both halves perhaps?
  10. Lockhart and Sparrow have more goals than Jones and ANB in , yet Petracca is the bad guy? Up to forward coach, Goody and selectors to fix it.
  11. Reminds me of when l worked. Bad thread.
  12. So single Trac out in our forward line is a little over the top. Maybe you should cast your net a little wider.

Seems a few are desperately trying to find a spot for Jones to reinvent himself. Not sure if this is in the best interests of the side. He has had a spot for two weeks and under performed. If he stays in, like everyone else he must perform.

I don’t pretend to understand the ramifications of the 6x6x6 yet, but a couple of thoughts. It seems Max can no longer drop back and save us, or go forward and save us.So really limits his impact. Seems also that by turning over 100% ownership of the ball to a 50/50 ( which we do a lot by simply hacking it forward out of the midfield) simply increases the counterattack from half back where the opposition hit clean targets. Maybe rule change a bit of a double whammy against us?
  15. Yep. Only Tom McDonald and Trac command any sort of attention up forward. So what do you do about Petracca? Pruess in and changes at Ff with Max, T.Mac to CHF, Stretch in and out Weideman and Jones. Petty and Keilty should no longer be looked over either IMO
  16. Very hard to expect much of Sparrow and Lockhart given their experience at this level and stage of career, KK also underdone so prepared to forgive. Have been very disappointed however with the likes of Hunt, Weideman, McDonald, Jetta, Petracca, (l still reckon he can play, but what is the matter?) Jones and ANB. These blokes have been well beaten by their opponents both weeks and clear passengers. Was happier with Viney as l was beginning to wonder if the game had passed him by. Quite a positive for us if he can build on it. Fortunately we know Oliver, Brayshaw, Gawn, Salem, Hibberd, Viney, Melk can all play. Feel also that the opposition know if they simply nullify McDonald and Petracca up forward, other than Melk, the others have absolutely no idea how to kick a goal or apply forward pressure. Jones and ANB haven’t impacted the scoreboard yet and their opponents have so little regard for them that they elect to become offensive players.
  17. Have we got any?
  18. Barlett should have Pert ,Goodwin, Jones in for a coffee first thing tomorrow. Losing a home game to a non finalist followed up by this says there is something wrong somewhere.
  19. Leadership?
  20. The whole club disgracefully unprepared for the start of the season.
  21. Maybe not totally out of the question if he plays well, but need to see how the season unfolds. (Boyd got a mill a season or something didn’t he? Probably 30%+ less than what Lynch gets) Need to lock in the key drivers ( particularly key forwards) and he could turn out to be one. Must admit l hate it when he goes into the ruck. Bit of a dopey ‘stir the pot’ leak at this point though IMO ,as it’s all up to the Weid. Nothing much to see ATM ,he would need to lift performance to get many suitors ( if indeed its him they are talking about) on output to date. On the other hand imagine $700k would get you a very good replacement for him.
  22. 6 Salem 5 Harmes 4 Hunt 3 Oliver 2 Brayshaw 1 Sparrow
  23. Would the Hawks have kept Jones and cleared Kent? Watch out for the apologists for not being ready though. We did the same thing against Geelong last year and should have learnt.
  24. Doubt it . Viney, Jones, ANB, Spargo, Frost, Hore, McDonald ( both) are ahead of him in the queue. No goals Jones, ANB,Spargo- joke.
  25. Will change the dynamic a bit but Lever about 10 weeks away so not by that much. May, Petty, Baker if he goes ok and Stretch for me. Out Oscar/Frost probably the latter, take your pick, Hore, Spargo, Viney.’
