Goodwin says he’s happy and required , Gus says he’s happy and a Demon, Jessie not saying much, seems all good to me. Lynch might be an adequate replacement if he did want to go, but think we would be losers otherwise.

Haven’t given up hope Hunt could fill that role.

If we rise others must fall. I wouldn’t worry too much about incoming sour grapes from the likes of Cover ( we just dispensed his mob). I felt Clarkson in his aftermatch comments, alluded to the fact that other good teams didn’t make the 8. He also said they had to address their list and do some trading. So could it simply be just that we’ve decided to add a new dimension to their lives, with a playing memo that says - “ hang on ,there is a bit of a changing of the guard going on here” They can say what they like, we do to. Screamed Judas ever time Frawley got the ball Friday night and it felt great.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
Dockett 32 replied to Cassiew's topic in Melbourne Demons
You make a good point . The Demon noise last Friday from our supporters was wonderful music and brought back memories of the 50/60’s. I think it’s inportant to understand what has just woken. The coach certainly does and I suspect a few Geelong and Hawthorn people do too now. Congrats to all who went and yelled like crazy. It was powerful. The Frog lived around the corner in Carnegie in 1964. Was a local boy and played juniors at Carnegie before going on to bigger things. Always a good bloke and a great mate of Lenny who was also a handy district cricketer. -
He’s a very nice kick and disposes of it pretty well. Improves a little with each game. As he gets stronger he’ll take some stopping.

Well done to the pies a truly beautiful thing. ( Of course they will burn at the stake next week , but no matter) GWS a basket case of course, but also no matter .( Scully manoeuvre possibly the AFL and the individuals , greatest disgrace in AFL history and both are now woefully exposed as a result. Truly magnificent also). GWS in great difficulty now like GCS and meanwhile Tassie still plead. Gill maybe you should call someone to help.

Can’t argue with what King said, don’t find him too bad actually, but what he didn’t say, was that good sides overcome and just find a way to win.

Meanwhile . . . down at Glenferrie Road . . . .

Quite satisfactory either way. The Mayblooms want to give us ‘Judas ‘ back. GWS might be a better option for those types. -

Tommy Mac always been a good player, now elite. If Jetta was unlucky for AA so was this bloke. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Dockett 32 replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could there be any greater need shown by May and Lynch to revisit this whole concept. Bottom clubs are far too easy a target and the beneficiary doesn’t feel much pain at all. -

Don’t worry anymore. -
Missed a lot of footy, now picking up the tempo. Made a couple of errors but I love the wrecking ball quote. One tackle was right in front of me. We heard it the Geelong bloke felt it. The thing is with AVB he is always trying to find away. He’s a tough nugget and balances up the team beautifully.

Tom Lynch, free agency and equalization
Dockett 32 replied to biggestred's topic in Melbourne Demons
I suppose that’s why the recruiting and list management team, in part ,earn their salary . Difficult issues to deal with. Try to maximise on your draft selections long term, or minimise the damage ( get best result) in the event you don’t get the outcome you wanted. Our blokes would have to be all over this. -
Tom Lynch, free agency and equalization
Dockett 32 replied to biggestred's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not much of a fan of free agency, seems to favour the top sides. But as it stands we have to live with it, be on the front foot and try not to be on the wrong side of future player movement. It is now an ongoing process within the system so no use complaining about it. It is what it is . I’m sure we would have several people charged with future strategic positioning within our list management and recruiting staff. They probably have a few sleepless nights with probably more to come. For instance recruiting players from interstate, particularly SA and WA carries additional risk. However when you look at our young player retention over the past few years it’s apparent that we are doing ok and are no longer the soft target we once were. Bigger problem for AFL is to stop the exodus of players to the stronger clubs ( of which we are now hopefully one) from north of the Murray. We may not be in the worst place for all of this now. -
If Max can get be in the media each week surely there’s a role for Bernie somewhere. Also been part of the modern game and strategies unlike many in the media still going around. Come on Fox there’s only so much Dermie I can take.
-
What seems to be the hold up with this one? Done a pretty good job for a young bloke in a tough role. A few blips here and there but shown enough for a bit of a pay rise.

When we are on about having A graders why would we even consider?

MFC recorded message states not all their allocation sold and once seller gets themselves organised they will advise further ,so maybe there could be an avenue if you are a joint MFC/MCC member? Not sure.
-
Yep correct. According to recorded message from the MCC all visitors seats and reserved seats sold out. Was looking for one visitor seat for young family member. Was on at 12.01 followed guidelines, just unable to get through. I too will join the scramble before the gates open.
-
Might make a half decent coach one day. Measured, resolute and focussed. Hope he hangs around our joint for a while.

If Lever was worth 2 first rounders. An injury prone Hill and a first rounder would be massive unders IMO

Decisions have to be made in a ‘spit second’. I wouldn’t think it possible. Prefer to think that as the the season moves into the real result defining period, the umpires only play the really blatant ones. Hope so anyway, as winning the contest ball is one of our strengths. Letting the game go a bit suits us.
-
I owe him an apology.

Yet another chance for our blokes. Hopefully one day they’ll take one. I hear the talk, but haven’t seen the walk yet.
