  1. Don’t need to trade for Gaff, just a shipload of coin.
  2. Yep ,if your going to get into a Judd/Kennedy type trade, make sure you get an absolute Rools Royce not a clapped out old Holden. Can we get into the Lynch game?
  3. Should be in the drivers seat on this one either way ,shouldn’t we? Hogan has apparently said he’s open to the idea “if” a trade can be worked out ( think they may have left out the word “suitable”). If a suitable deal ( suitable to us) can’t be worked out , that’s fine, Hogan will always be embraced by the supporters if what’s offered isn’t suitable or fair and we just match the offer and move on. If as suggested, Freo really want him, figure out a way for two low draft picks (Not one cent less)and we can all move on. If not, it’s no deal and Hoges will still have a great career with us. Isnt this the way this stuff is supposed to work?
  4. Massive learning experience for our blokes. You couldn’t compare that to Hawthorn or Geelong games, where quite clearly our boys stood tall. Goodwin was concerned about contested ball and tackles moreso than fumbles. Likely, that’s where we will see ongoing changes made. Its not the first time this year this has happened and when those games are reviewed and a a clearer pattern will emerge. Some of the changes to the playing list may surprise us, who knows, but I have faith Goodwin will find what he wants. Taylor is pretty good at his job.
  5. I like that Goodwin wasn’t banging things and throwing water bottles. He was dirty but calm. He got a reality check on the capability of our list under real physical pressure. Good for him to find that out now rather than next year. I doubt if he’ll review the younger ones too much ,but some of the experienced campaigners who we expect to show up every week ,have might/should get a tap on the shoulder, if we are to make the next step.
  6. Starts and finishes with your leaders.
  7. He’s done SFA too. Tom MacDonald aclear choice for me.
  8. Could use a little leadership
  9. Injecting room could get busy.
  10. Goodwin says he’s happy and required , Gus says he’s happy and a Demon, Jessie not saying much, seems all good to me. Lynch might be an adequate replacement if he did want to go, but think we would be losers otherwise.
  11. Haven’t given up hope Hunt could fill that role.
  12. If we rise others must fall. I wouldn’t worry too much about incoming sour grapes from the likes of Cover ( we just dispensed his mob). I felt Clarkson in his aftermatch comments, alluded to the fact that other good teams didn’t make the 8. He also said they had to address their list and do some trading. So could it simply be just that we’ve decided to add a new dimension to their lives, with a playing memo that says - “ hang on ,there is a bit of a changing of the guard going on here” They can say what they like, we do to. Screamed Judas ever time Frawley got the ball Friday night and it felt great.
  13. You make a good point . The Demon noise last Friday from our supporters was wonderful music and brought back memories of the 50/60’s. I think it’s inportant to understand what has just woken. The coach certainly does and I suspect a few Geelong and Hawthorn people do too now. Congrats to all who went and yelled like crazy. It was powerful. The Frog lived around the corner in Carnegie in 1964. Was a local boy and played juniors at Carnegie before going on to bigger things. Always a good bloke and a great mate of Lenny who was also a handy district cricketer.
  14. He’s a very nice kick and disposes of it pretty well. Improves a little with each game. As he gets stronger he’ll take some stopping.
  15. Well done to the pies a truly beautiful thing. ( Of course they will burn at the stake next week , but no matter) GWS a basket case of course, but also no matter .( Scully manoeuvre possibly the AFL and the individuals , greatest disgrace in AFL history and both are now woefully exposed as a result. Truly magnificent also). GWS in great difficulty now like GCS and meanwhile Tassie still plead. Gill maybe you should call someone to help.
  16. Can’t argue with what King said, don’t find him too bad actually, but what he didn’t say, was that good sides overcome and just find a way to win.
  17. Quite satisfactory either way. The Mayblooms want to give us ‘Judas ‘ back. GWS might be a better option for those types.
  18. Tommy Mac always been a good player, now elite. If Jetta was unlucky for AA so was this bloke.
  19. Could there be any greater need shown by May and Lynch to revisit this whole concept. Bottom clubs are far too easy a target and the beneficiary doesn’t feel much pain at all.
  20. Missed a lot of footy, now picking up the tempo. Made a couple of errors but I love the wrecking ball quote. One tackle was right in front of me. We heard it the Geelong bloke felt it. The thing is with AVB he is always trying to find away. He’s a tough nugget and balances up the team beautifully.
  21. Salem Oliver Harmes Brayshaw Jetta Weideman
  22. I suppose that’s why the recruiting and list management team, in part ,earn their salary . Difficult issues to deal with. Try to maximise on your draft selections long term, or minimise the damage ( get best result) in the event you don’t get the outcome you wanted. Our blokes would have to be all over this.
