This is way off beam and I'm no lawyer, but I struggle with Essendon's ability to trade out players over the past few years in the knowledge that CAS could well come after them as they now have. I'll struggle to explain this , but was there a real 'clear title' situation available in order that a trade could be facilitated? Trade Max ? Can't believe it, but such is Demonland. We are all different that's for sure. Personally , love the way Max is playing. For the moment would like to get him and Hogan re-signed on decent contracts as a priority. It is crystal clear that it remains the midfield and another big forward/ goal kicker that needs to be sorted. Back half keeping a side to 4 goals is a fairly decent effort.

Hope they sign up big Max soon . Taken a while to get him to the alter, but producing the goods now and is a very big unit. Apparently very popular around the club, has some aggression and just might turn into a protective leader IMO.

Yep there are a number of secondary options, but only one absolutely required signing "Jesse Hogan". Letting this one slip would bring serious pain.

Don't have a clue about delistings ( really couldn't care) but rather than misuse money on Dangerfield that could be better used elsewhere , how about we immediately tie up Hogan for the next 6 years making him the first $10million dollar man, then get fair dinkum about building a team around him Brayshaw, Tyson, Viney , McDonald, Pretracca , Salem, Toumpas and the other quality kids on our list. The depression Melbourne supporters have had to deal with for the past 50 years will be nothing compared to the loss of Hogan IMO. The biggest shot in the arm Melbourne supporters could get would be having young Jessie done and dusted for a long period. After that I couldn't give a stuff what happens for the remainder as the course would be set.

If anyone understands that the player taken at pick one in the draft may not be all that important in the final analysis, then it should be us. Not over fussed about all of this and on the back of last year, feel comfortable that our folk will get us some worthwhile players.
