  1. Isn’t it about time we stood on our own two feet now and simply got on with it? Roos ( and PJ) did a great job for us taking on a basket case and establishing the blueprint. So now we should know what’s required. Im more interested in what we do rather than what Roos does or doesn’t do.
  2. Looking at our forward line today and most of the season, l reckon there are a lot in the queue ahead of him. Probably all the forwards actually. In a decent side with a properly functioning forward line l think he would go ok.
  3. It’s sad to see for sure but against the really quick sides he struggles badly. Became evident in our StKilda game last year. But the club now finds itself well and truly wedged. Is Viney Snr going to tell Viney junior to have a rest? Is the club going to pull up Jonesys career a few short of 300? I don’t think so.
  4. Another 179 cm job. Maybe we can get a full list of them.
  5. None of them near GWS class however and we keep trading away our best picks. Doesnt make sense to me. So , simple, if you can’t get someone GWS class or ultra high quality, for Christ sake hang on to your 1st rounders. Brayshaw and Petracca need to lift pronto or onto the trade table.
  6. Midget , slow, no tricks, can’t stick a tackle, no lateral movement. Not in same class as GWS kids unfortunately. Not sure what he offers us or why we got him?
  7. Been a pretty lame season. Elephant in the room, the two co captains. If one was at Hawthorn he'd probably be playing seconds, the other is a true battler, but has lost a bit. We have two AA players who show the way and are the real leaders nearly every week. Time for some tough love and restructure IMO
  8. You may well be right ,would be nice if something was done about it and people came clean.
  9. Finger pointing and tears going on all over the place. We don’t need all this panic. All l want to know is who is going to stand up and put the train back on the rails? Surely has to be a cold hearted approach by the appointed leaders both on and off the field. They are the ones who really understand the underlying issues ( we are just guessing) and they need to make changes to address these problems effective immediately. lf they can’t do it, then we need people who can, l can’t imagine for a second PJ wouldn’t be up to his armpits in resolving the current situation.
  10. Tom Mc and the Weid zero points after 5 games, yet huge no of inside 50’s in a number of our games. Don’t get how they couldn’t have 1 point with nearly a quarter of the season gone. Something fishy going on. TMac injured? Weid already got at?
  11. He’s not playing well at the moment but that’s harsh.
  12. I find the reversal in TMc form hard to fathom. He’s a very good player, but simply can’t find it. Surely there is a problem here.
  13. He did play a very good game and a big part of getting us over the line, but it was due ,maybe overdue ,it was round 4. Hope he maintains the form against the Saints and shows the way again . Last year was a huge disappointment against them. Has a bit more to do to really restore the faith.
  14. Sparrow and Jordan are kids and might make you eat your words one day. To call them rubbish is crazy. They are not the cause of the clubs malaise. Good to see Maynard find some form after some ordinary luck with injury and Billy Stretch hasn’t given it away. Would like them both to get a chance.
  15. If you overpay for something that doesn’t work, it’s hard to consider it a wise decision, particularly when what you purchase has an injury predisposition cloud. The opportunity cost on this transaction is looking pretty aweful right now.
  16. Never EVER pay two first round draft picks for anybody.
  17. The Elephant in the room is the co captains.
  18. I thought of the similarity to last year against Geelong too. Bombing it to a static forward line pretty much the same. Slow learners or haven’t got the message? The week before ,PA’s forward entries, being so precise ,made our defensive zone somewhat meaningless and made it easier for PA to deliver. Same again with Geelong. Turnovers from ineffective forward work is going to kill anyone with the new rules because you won’t be able to cover the quick , precise rebound pick off or have an extra bloke as insurance down there. Others have seen it and it’s happened twice now. New rules might make it more about ability than grunt in both halves perhaps?
  19. Lockhart and Sparrow have more goals than Jones and ANB in , yet Petracca is the bad guy? Up to forward coach, Goody and selectors to fix it.
  20. So single Trac out in our forward line is a little over the top. Maybe you should cast your net a little wider.
  21. Seems a few are desperately trying to find a spot for Jones to reinvent himself. Not sure if this is in the best interests of the side. He has had a spot for two weeks and under performed. If he stays in, like everyone else he must perform.
  22. I don’t pretend to understand the ramifications of the 6x6x6 yet, but a couple of thoughts. It seems Max can no longer drop back and save us, or go forward and save us.So really limits his impact. Seems also that by turning over 100% ownership of the ball to a 50/50 ( which we do a lot by simply hacking it forward out of the midfield) simply increases the counterattack from half back where the opposition hit clean targets. Maybe rule change a bit of a double whammy against us?
  23. Yep. Only Tom McDonald and Trac command any sort of attention up forward. So what do you do about Petracca? Pruess in and changes at Ff with Max, T.Mac to CHF, Stretch in and out Weideman and Jones. Petty and Keilty should no longer be looked over either IMO
  24. Very hard to expect much of Sparrow and Lockhart given their experience at this level and stage of career, KK also underdone so prepared to forgive. Have been very disappointed however with the likes of Hunt, Weideman, McDonald, Jetta, Petracca, (l still reckon he can play, but what is the matter?) Jones and ANB. These blokes have been well beaten by their opponents both weeks and clear passengers. Was happier with Viney as l was beginning to wonder if the game had passed him by. Quite a positive for us if he can build on it. Fortunately we know Oliver, Brayshaw, Gawn, Salem, Hibberd, Viney, Melk can all play. Feel also that the opposition know if they simply nullify McDonald and Petracca up forward, other than Melk, the others have absolutely no idea how to kick a goal or apply forward pressure. Jones and ANB haven’t impacted the scoreboard yet and their opponents have so little regard for them that they elect to become offensive players.
