  1. To get the three young kids all playing some exciting footy in their first year, is a big take away from this year.
  2. All been said before but a great win by the boys. Rivers a very composed and focussed young player.
  3. First into the side next week along with AVB (at least gives it his all) . Take your pick who you leave out ex Trac.
  4. The form of James like TM, is a mystery and kills us, but so does our inconsistency. Some of our more senior players turn up every third or fourth week. ( Brayshaw, Melksham, Salem). These blokes should be ‘hard as flint’ ,turn up every week, professionals by now, like May is turning out to be.
  5. Did we have our best team in? IMO May, Lever, Hibberd, Salem, Gawn, Viney, Oliver, Petracca, Langdon all generally good players. Kids Jackson and Pickett exempted as is Bennell at this point. The rest turn up every now and then and include Harmes, Brayshaw, Melksham , Tmcd, Omcd These blokes really should be delivering a lot more, week in, week out ,but don’t.
  6. Why can’t you have them both in the 22? Jackson plays as a utility in many ways and also gives Max a chop out.
  7. Correct. All Australian, been terrific for us. His achievements so far have been outstanding . Has Viney ever been AA or Jones? Together with Max and Trac in our best three for sure. Didn’t have a good game, but cut the bloke some slack and look for the real culprits who never really impose themselves on games.
  8. Dunno which one goes, but you highlighted an almighty problem.
  9. There must be a story on Max and Oliver. They are better than that. Viney - very good as was the defence ex Jetta and Harmes But we seem to have too many, average one paced plodders that are again shown up against the better sides. Brayshaw ,Neal- Bullen, , Spargo? come to mind. Jury out on Tomlinson. Pretty slow through the middle like last year.
  10. Appreciate you view and fair enough , probably used to think the same way. My problem is the inconsistent interpretation of various actions. How often do we see situations with two similar incidents, where one is seen to be a beach and the other not so. The seriousness of the matter clarifies it a bit for me and l have to admit to a bias in this dating back to Jack Trengove/ Patrick Dangerfield.
  11. If Viney were to cop a week ( which l don’t think he should, as it was a very soft landing ,with no damage done at all.) Then is makes a mockery out of the previous Couch incident were there was blood damage and also sets a ridiculous precedent for the AFL to administer and get hopelessly tangled up in, as the season unfolds. Progressive subjective calls, as the season runs simply infuriates supporters of all persuasions. IMO the damage inflicted ,or unfair advantage obtained, in the incident should provide a better indication of a likely penalty.
  12. All a bit over hyped at this point. l’m hoping all this stuff helps motivate Jack. Personally l think if his body is right, he can play very well. If l had a concern, which l don’t , it would only be about the state of his body. Would love him to have a great season and l reckon he can.
  13. Agreed. What is the decision if he finishes the season on 295 games?
  14. I like it too and reckon it’s an A. But who really knows what lies ahead. Non vanilla, all WA kids from the same successful under 18 group who bring a positive, winning approach. 3 WA kids in itself brave IMO. Non conservative, that we are often accused of being. We seem to have got, who we set out to get.
  15. We've had a good go at moderately paced midgets without tricks over the years. Also reminds me of Parish hype a few years back. Little blokes need to have Rioli type skills for top 10 IMO.
  16. I'm hoping a Dyson Heppell type. Be an ok pick for me.
  17. Serviceable . Not exactly the three really quick mids we desperately require.
  18. Small injury prone small from Collingwood. Worked well last time with Kennedy. As it stands half the side is already injured. Taylor would be really putting his job on the line taking this bloke IMO.
  19. Gawn and Oliver presented again. Should lead the joint IMO.
  20. If they can play at full capacity and often. Not sure about this bloke. If there’s a doubt, leave him out , would be my view.
  21. Agree . So would talk of getting rid of Frost and keeping OMac. Issac Smith is in his 30’s and has no currency for me.
  22. I think Sparrow and Jordan are half a chance and maybe a couple of others in there might improve. None of them were particularly high draft picks. Nothing suicidal with them .
  23. Pretty spiritless mob. Compare to Hawthorns last game.
  24. Suppose we all see things differently. Seems like a half reasonable coaching ‘plan B’ for next year if there is no immediate coaching improvement in the early part of next season. Next week should shake a few non performing or past it players off. Step after that ( might take a while to announce it due to list finalisation ) would be to really tidy up the leadership group. And the wheels on the bus ......
