  1. Appreciate you view and fair enough , probably used to think the same way. My problem is the inconsistent interpretation of various actions. How often do we see situations with two similar incidents, where one is seen to be a beach and the other not so. The seriousness of the matter clarifies it a bit for me and l have to admit to a bias in this dating back to Jack Trengove/ Patrick Dangerfield.
  2. If Viney were to cop a week ( which l don’t think he should, as it was a very soft landing ,with no damage done at all.) Then is makes a mockery out of the previous Couch incident were there was blood damage and also sets a ridiculous precedent for the AFL to administer and get hopelessly tangled up in, as the season unfolds. Progressive subjective calls, as the season runs simply infuriates supporters of all persuasions. IMO the damage inflicted ,or unfair advantage obtained, in the incident should provide a better indication of a likely penalty.
  3. All a bit over hyped at this point. l’m hoping all this stuff helps motivate Jack. Personally l think if his body is right, he can play very well. If l had a concern, which l don’t , it would only be about the state of his body. Would love him to have a great season and l reckon he can.
  4. Agreed. What is the decision if he finishes the season on 295 games?
  5. I like it too and reckon it’s an A. But who really knows what lies ahead. Non vanilla, all WA kids from the same successful under 18 group who bring a positive, winning approach. 3 WA kids in itself brave IMO. Non conservative, that we are often accused of being. We seem to have got, who we set out to get.
  6. We've had a good go at moderately paced midgets without tricks over the years. Also reminds me of Parish hype a few years back. Little blokes need to have Rioli type skills for top 10 IMO.
  7. I'm hoping a Dyson Heppell type. Be an ok pick for me.
  8. Serviceable . Not exactly the three really quick mids we desperately require.
  9. Small injury prone small from Collingwood. Worked well last time with Kennedy. As it stands half the side is already injured. Taylor would be really putting his job on the line taking this bloke IMO.
  10. Gawn and Oliver presented again. Should lead the joint IMO.
  11. If they can play at full capacity and often. Not sure about this bloke. If there’s a doubt, leave him out , would be my view.
  12. Agree . So would talk of getting rid of Frost and keeping OMac. Issac Smith is in his 30’s and has no currency for me.
  13. I think Sparrow and Jordan are half a chance and maybe a couple of others in there might improve. None of them were particularly high draft picks. Nothing suicidal with them .
  14. Pretty spiritless mob. Compare to Hawthorns last game.
  15. Suppose we all see things differently. Seems like a half reasonable coaching ‘plan B’ for next year if there is no immediate coaching improvement in the early part of next season. Next week should shake a few non performing or past it players off. Step after that ( might take a while to announce it due to list finalisation ) would be to really tidy up the leadership group. And the wheels on the bus ......
  16. Max for Captain , Oliver VC.
  17. Yes , but at times like this you feel a little bit cheated by those in control of the club.
  18. Think Gawn and Oliver more entitled to leadership roles over past two years. Such action would also see Jack able to concentrate solely on getting his game back to scratch.
  19. Geez l thought it was a good effort with our injuries. In years gone by likely to have been a different outcome.
  20. Think we have clearly been worked out. Evident from StKilda and Collingwood last year and the prelim. Two slow midfielders to go and don’t think it should be an AA, Brayshaw , Harmes ,Petracca or Salem. Some really hard decisions may need to be made. Have we got the Hawthorn like stones to pull the trigger?
  21. Yep and so slow.
  22. A fully fit Viney is a serious competitor we know that. Anything less becomes a problem. What lm beginning to doubt is his ability to regain proper fitness or are his injuries becoming chronic? If it’s the latter we have a problem. We seem to get very little news on the subject.
  23. Isn’t it about time we stood on our own two feet now and simply got on with it? Roos ( and PJ) did a great job for us taking on a basket case and establishing the blueprint. So now we should know what’s required. Im more interested in what we do rather than what Roos does or doesn’t do.
  24. Looking at our forward line today and most of the season, l reckon there are a lot in the queue ahead of him. Probably all the forwards actually. In a decent side with a properly functioning forward line l think he would go ok.
  25. It’s sad to see for sure but against the really quick sides he struggles badly. Became evident in our StKilda game last year. But the club now finds itself well and truly wedged. Is Viney Snr going to tell Viney junior to have a rest? Is the club going to pull up Jonesys career a few short of 300? I don’t think so.
