  1. Sounds a bit of a shame if we ended up with 'hostile laggers' some of whom might have been given their first chance in the big league by the MFC, to only to turn on the club like snakes later on . What a great reflection of character should it be the case. I would suggest it might not be us with the problem. Where are they now? Maybe we need to addopt a "Recruit Hard" mange "Soft" position and whip in a few confidentiality agreements for good measure.
  2. Pretty quick response from VCGLR however, almost as if they were awaiting the outcome. Eddie's recommendation seems to have been the correct one. Still your putt AFL and MFC. Silly sanction from AFL and Gillon has left the door wide open. Wonder if VCGLR will include Carlton and others in their investigations now as we were found not guilty. Surely sooner or later all clubs accused of the same use of the AFL's rules should be drawn into this, as should have been the situation in the first place.
  3. Maybe you're right , but I would hope that our representatives are half smart and operate with high discretion at all times. Notwithstanding the key points of ridiculous fine and complete blindfold re other clubs activities, the two blokes in the gun here, couldn't exactly be accused of helping our cause. I assume we won't be paying CC after March when his current contract expires and when the time comes for his re hire salary negotiation, that a much lower number is on the table. Whole resolution is on the nose.
  4. Wouldn't look too good for the AFL if it went to court only to see the 'heir apparent' get belted all over the field due to a very ordinary first judgement call.
  5. You follow previous role models I guess. Carlton might be worth looking at or perhaps West Coast or dare I say it the proteted unspoken about Tiger !
  6. Had plenty of chances to really stamp himself with us and just didnt do it. Good luck to him at the Tiges
  7. That's what must be sorted with the AFL, with full recourse back to them for loss of income should the sanctions/penalties, whatever, end up in a far bigger league and subsequently effecting our future cash flows and our ability to earn income. So "Let's hope some sanity from the AFL prevails here and they realise these issues. It would be their responsibility if they leave the Club with no choice but to have to go to court." Well, we haven't seen it yet from the AFL, but the jury is still out and its Gillon's first time up at bat
  8. If that turns out to be true, IMO its a fall at the first hurdle for young Gillon. Simply more of AA. No uplifting change to the modus operandi at headquarters. Would be a shame and opportunity lost.
  9. Well the new chap does have an opportunity to show some wisdom beyond his years. I hope for everybodys sake he shows it, or AA may as well still be in the "frenzy position" . The Richmond bloke kicked one out of his backside in the nanoseconds and here we are on on page 86 courtesy of two highly credentialed accusers in Caroline Wilson and Brock McLean and the AFL has run with it. Sort it quick Gil or let it go to court. What a joke.! Just amazing to me!
  10. Oops went too early. Story of my life. Agree with the above and seems to me the new man on the case for the AFL can either see the issue off to court where it should go if we are singled out for all the very good reasons previously enunciated, or he can resolve sensibly. Over to you Gil , does it get messy or do we move on. This may tell us all a bit about the type of AFL management we are likely to expect in the future.
  11. Yep or Chapman. Same sort of nastiness and ability to have opponents wodering where they might be.
  12. Don't gret this thread and sort of with you on this. Who cares how many forums we have and frankly it was lucky when Ology had problems Demonland was available for some of their people. Now ology is also embracinging folk from elsewhere. Nice co-operation it would seem to me. Is their some pissing competition going on here ?Whats the problem?
  13. It is not appropriate to be indiscreet or flippant in whatever your pursuit.
  14. Tough, quick, unheralded, nice size and should get better. Still young with time to improve in certain areas and I hope he does well for us. IMO I think he's a kid with a bit of a future and I certainly haven't put the pencil through him.
  15. Correct, but has there been a massive overuse and inconsistency in applicatiohn of another rubbery AFL position? 16 deals signed off for Carlton players doesn't seem to be within the spirit of the thing and it was an unfavourable outcome at the time for "whats his name". Lets get all the information outhere to properly adjudge, afterall thats what the AFL seem to be wanting to be doing in our case on another matter. They have excavators and MRI scanners at work on us.
  16. Feeling confident we'll get who we might want come Thursday. There will be a number of well credentialled kids available when its our turn and it should put a nice bit of icing on the cake. Not fussed and happy to leave with those in charge. From where I sit they have made significant change which is never easy , bold and required courage. From these actions its evident there won't be more of the same from last year and immediately prior.
  17. Good point "unjust enrichment",add it to the list.
  18. The only thing recently that has been black and white in all of this, is the crap in the newspapers and the denials from Bailey and Junior. The Richmond bloke kicked one out of his clacker from 50 metres in time on. FMD and yet we have been largely savaged in isolation by the media for how long now? Tell me our brand and supporter base hasn't been hammered by this rubbery, destructive, discrimintory and myopic pursuit.
  19. Love the bit about "Keep calm team. Get behind the club - dont turn on it." RBNice and would also like to add When the going gets tough etc etc. Easy to catch the lift to the 35th floor and jump out, or barrack for Carlton or Collingwood. Absolutely no challenge and totally sterile.
  20. Reckon Morton probably ok , has had plenty of time to produce and hasn't really cut it. See Gysberts as quite a different story, shorter time span to produce, has shown a little and has been impacted by injury. Pederson & Nth 2nd rounder to square this one up would seem a reasonable outcome. Anything less and would see it as a pretty limp rollover by us and wouldnt reflect favourably.
  21. Have no idea what Noth require, but a pick in the 30's sounds very rich for a bloke who only played a couple of games last year. Mathew Bate played more than that didn't he? What would our return be on a Bate trade? Would prefer to keep the latter if North are simply being greedy. Feel Bate and Dunn could pinch hit with Dawes and Clark about and until Hogan steps up to the plate.
  22. Would prefer to keep Davis rather than Martin particularly after Rivers departure. We would get some more weight for the compensation also. Suspect we have two more trades to be involved in.
