I'm sure we will be able to do a sensible deal with him, besides he's got this weekend to get over yet. Not the end of the world. Gawn, Martin and Spencer in the wings.

Excellent analogy. So far the gold and silver medalists in media crap for the season, but its only round one.

Normal unsubstantiated stuff, but if they dont want to play for you, let the so and so's go at the first opportunity. Stuff em and send them to the most inconvenient place where you can get the best trade. That just doesn't apply to Blease, it applies to the complete list. Plenty of good kids out there would love the chance to be on an AFL list.(Refer Magner) Agree with the bit about the recruiters satisfying themselves and ticking the right boxes before we take them on in the first place.

Neeld was furious that we lost the tap outs and got well beaten at the clearances, JT says essentially the same thing on the MFC website. Makes it much more difficult to execute a plan in these circumstances.

John Cleese - British writer, actor and tall person The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada. The Scots have raised their threat level from "[censored] Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France 's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides." The Germans have increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose." Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels . The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy. Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No worries" to "She'll be alright, Mate." Two more escalation levels remain: "Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!" and "The barbie is cancelled." So far no situation has ever warranted use of the last final escalation level. A final thought - " Greece is collapsing, the Iranians are getting aggressive, and Rome is in disarray. Welcome back to 430 BC".

Turn it up Eddie. You going to rape the women and children as well?

Agree but we nonetheless seem to be in a strong position to influence the bidding if he wants to come back to Victoria.

Don't knock them, the training reports were the highlight of our season last year. -

Ronald Dale Barassi leaves the Dees for Carlton

Agreed, was a tough, ruthless, fearless bull, with excellent skills and reasonable pace. Would take them all on.The best MFC player I have ever seen for sure. Ripped my heart out as a 14 year old when he left though. -
Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain

For some reason I'd be surprised if they go that way Redleg. The new broom seems to be about delivering change. -
Conspiracy theory re: Neeld/Prendergast
Dockett 32 replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Most components of the MFC have been on the improve over the past 4 years. BP was a large part of a very the most disappointing an underachieving dept of the club for the past 4 years. Just like other departures from this department , maybe it was the right time for the planets to align. Personally I struggled with the Gawn in preference to Vardy arrangement, but we will all have our own views I guess. Carlton will find out a bit more about our old news strategy, but their insight into our future recruiting may have ended just a few weeks after last years recruiting. -
MFC players you're most looking forward to watch in 2012

Well you will be hopefully pleased when actions speak louder than words.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM COUCH

I thought Bart said the breeding quality is often is more about the dam. Do we need a new thread? -
Evans, also a later non vanilla selection, might be a player too and happy with him in 32.

Will give us something to talk about during the lull, but not sure how it fits with our tennancy at the MCG and long term lease arrangement at Casey? Is it essentially just a move away from Olympic Park to the Doclands and that's it?

In his first year Troy Davis missed the pre season and first half due to a Thyroid issue. I think he'll make it. He's got size, speed and some grunt. Played some good VFL footy at times last year in the games I saw.

Somebody is sitting on a good story that's worth a few bob. The truth will come out one day and would be surprised if it hasn't in bits and pieces on this thread already.

Good stuff Clucka. Bit like owning an unraced two year old at this point but happy to go with that.
