  1. We need size, speed, brilliance and mongrel. If he has these qualities and is better than other options go for it. If not no thanks. Heritage should have nought to do with it. Collingwood ended up with a hell of a job tipping out Clokes and Shaws
  2. Just normal Hawthorn stuff. ( part of the early training I suspect is the kneedrop, coathanger, professional corkee and elbow slam.)
  3. Under drug cloud and on the slow side. Wouldn't have thought he would fit the bill.
  4. Here we go again, must put in the diary for next year.
  5. They also didn't perform Wiseblood, agreed, but not all of them are leaders nor are they all key on ballers who got absolutely hammered.
  6. Wiiseblood I'm saying if they weren't able to perform, they shouldn't have played. I stand by that and if you think I'm wrong that's fine, but 26 possessions suggests they didn't perform.
  7. Sorry Wiseblood, leaders are expected to show up. They didn't and you can make as many excuses as you like.
  8. If they were crook they shouldn't have played. 26 possessions between the two of them. They let the kids down IMO.
  9. It is evident that this guy is something quite special. As a supporter nothing, nothing, could give us a shot in the arm or more desire to become a new member than by locking this bloke up on a long term deal ( Same for Maxxy). Message to the club, "How about giving us an early Christmas Present"
  10. Home for an hour or so and a couple of settlers, ex Viney, Tyson and Matt Jones our midfield stunk it up. ( Read N.Jones, Vince, Brayshaw - terrible). Almost predictable that Jones and Vince would receive attention after last week, but did we have a plan to discontinue the tags? Didn't look like it to me. 8 centre clearance to 1 in the first quarter. North midfield coach and players did a nice old job strategically on our sleepy midfield coach and players. Result 5 down at quarter time. Top sides like Hawthorn have the men like Hodge and Lewis who take care of the taggers. Who have we got? What prompt remedial action did we take? Couldn't help thinking Riley might have been useful at times today. Hogan, Viney very good again, but yet again let down by supposed leaders who are supposed to turn up every week.
  11. Need to cover Brown and its true that he's a difficult match up, but usually Harvey , Thomas and their smaller , quicker brigade cause us the most problems IMO.
  12. Looking forward to the midfield contest and Dawes. I hope they bring something to the table this week.
  13. Roos. "Habits are playing on a man and beating him." Hard to argue against that. His other major problems, tackle count and contested possessions. i.e Midfield, forward line.
  14. Jack Viney and Brayshaw go alright. Reckon I could work with them, Vince and Petracca.
  15. Polite way of Roos saying "They simply don't have the tools required to add to trying". But will that be enough to satisfy the board and PJ. Nearly a full list to pick from and they've changed half the list. Sooner or later it must be, we've bought either the wrong cattle( again) , our teaching of them has been substandard or a combination of both. Either way, the football dept stinks right now and is dragging the club further down the gurgle.
  16. Jones - Pay check game ( Just went, looking for receives a lot, some hospital handballs to teammates.) Dunn - Reliable and confident ( Average for mine) Hogan - A football lesson ( Looked to drop the bundle again. When the going gets tuff... Stern words needed.) Watts - Buckled under pressure ( Ok ish but error riddled. Did try.) Dawes - Presented but fumbled ( Got no idea about this bloke) Viney - Just like daddy (Yep) Lumumba - Erratic and indecisive ( Need to watch replay, didn't stand out) Brayshaw - Superior work rate ( ok and wins one on ones) Gawn - Solid ruck work (Yep) Tyson - Out of form ( Run in the seconds needed) Stretch - Promising but tired ( Kid , shown a bit, now a rest) Cross - Slow but required ( Nup. Afraid he's close to cooked. Good heart, legs cant keep up) Garland - Soundly, empathically beaten ( Emotionally tough one. But he was poor) Michie - Another Michie classic ( 9 possessions in a quarter is good and he was ok) Vince - Tries but fades ( Didn't impose himself on the contest, but not the worst) McDonald - Out of position ( I thought he went ok) Grimes - Dear God no ( That's tough, wasn't our worst) Garlett - Lacked defensive urgency ( Quiet) Howe - Went through motions ( Ok ish) Jetta - Constantly missed targets ( Tried his guts out, wasn't good but kept going. One a few who can run) vandenBerg - Out of touch- ( Either injured or slow and found out) Harms -Promising yet uninspiring ( Tried but not ready)
  17. Whole football dept need a complete shake up from top down. Completely unacceptable/disgraceful performance. Starting to question some of this 'slow player' drafting. Recruits need to be quick, big, fearless and nasty and if you find them all at Sandringham good luck to you.
  18. Timid and slow against a bunch of slick ,quick kids. Slowest side in the comp.
