The prospect of a few Rookie upgrades is a tick for players , the recruiting team and development coaches. Whether events get to the next stage of ultimately producing handy AFL players, who knows, but another step in the right direction it would seem.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Dockett 32 replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
There goes one of my hopes. Maybe we can shake something loose out of the Swans , GWS or Suns. Pick 4 or 5 should be a handy start . -
Coming along ok. Plenty worse than him.

Finally got an A grader who we just have to keep. He kicks 5 on his own ,the rest of the club cant kick 5 between them. Administration - get it done or resign. -

Yep there are a number of secondary options, but only one absolutely required signing "Jesse Hogan". Letting this one slip would bring serious pain. -

Don't have a clue about delistings ( really couldn't care) but rather than misuse money on Dangerfield that could be better used elsewhere , how about we immediately tie up Hogan for the next 6 years making him the first $10million dollar man, then get fair dinkum about building a team around him Brayshaw, Tyson, Viney , McDonald, Pretracca , Salem, Toumpas and the other quality kids on our list. The depression Melbourne supporters have had to deal with for the past 50 years will be nothing compared to the loss of Hogan IMO. The biggest shot in the arm Melbourne supporters could get would be having young Jessie done and dusted for a long period. After that I couldn't give a stuff what happens for the remainder as the course would be set. -
In Dawes Bail and Newton for ANB , Stretch and Pederson. ( Never thought I would be pushing for Bail again but there you go). Grimes might get the chop as well, can we bring Harms in?
-
We've played some pretty dumb football in the past two weeks. Find the culprits and sack them.
-
Dawes for Pederson and we probably win.
-
Still too many oldies in the scared to win brigade. One we can sort this out there will be no turning back.
-
Lack of older type leadership players again.( Soon to be the past ). We are very very slow and a few of the main problems are in the previous group. Kids were good Toumpas, Hogan, Viney ( the future ). Nonetheless one of our better performances at Etihad for a while, we'll be bottom four this year and have something very handy to trade for somebody really good. Sloan I hope..Still believe we will finish better than we have started. We were always going to finish bottom six so bottom four just means we get some better candy to trade well with. Onballers leg speed a really serious concern, Hogan good , the rest of the forward line has little capacity to hurt and don't kick enough goals.

25 points not huge , midfield higher level, dumbness a higher leveltoo unfortunately, but amongst other things ( and I realise its a bit silly picking out one thing) I suspect the Gawn /Fitzy thing will get a fair hearing at review. Just highlights how you can crucially hurt yourself with an action that should have been dealt with more effectively. Do it 3 or 4 times in a math and you pretty much have your 25 points. In addition the normally inconsistent Cloke shot the lights out. Not much in it really but we have to play smarter.

That's an old one ,Carlton thought that.

Turn it up Chook. How would you think the Eagles might respond?

Prefer to find the next Judd.

We beat Richmond didn't we?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10

Interesting selection. Thought Fitzy and Howie a bit lucky. Unsure about what interchange bench ex Brayshaw tells us? -
What about Col Garland's signature?
Dockett 32 replied to Neitz the Great's topic in Melbourne Demons
In the end I suppose its about what Roos tells the list managers. Personally would be disappointed to see him go. Playing some good footy. -

Handy "above average" footballer on his day. Decent bloke to boot. You cant have too many of those can you? -
Not sure I'd include Garland in that lot, but agree with sentiment. Be interested to see who turns up to play against the very slick Collingwood midfield .
-
Its unfortunate that Dom Tyson hasn't hit his straps yet. I think if they can get him up to speed and with the improvement of Brayshaw we are a chance to get the midfield up a gear. Lack of depth still a problem here.

A few hung themselves today! -
Agree with your comments on leadership Titan and it is astonishing that Brayshaw shows the way to our 'so called' inconsistent at best leaders. Good leaders put in week in week out. Thought Col Garland was good today.

Just took a look at the Demonland Banner, 10 players. I count 2 who represented properly yesterday.

Well the good news is that problem had nothing to do with Grimesy
