Well Jake has only had a couple of games this year - when he gets a few more under his belt then maybe, especially if he does a bit of marking and scoring at Casey.
-
I understood, from other cases, that there is some WADA rule that bans clubs who have more than maybe two players found guilty of drug offences. If that is the case then, yes, Essendon should be banned, because that's the rule and the penalty for club / state sanctioned PED programs.

Not having see him play, would Huelett be an option as a tall defender? His photos have him looking like a huge strong monster.
-
Except that the Hawks had just those two: if the cards play right we could have a trio! And it does give the opportunity / necessity to give Frost another go at defence. OMcD is someone else to look forward to, whilst Garland and possibly Dunn are definitely in their decline.

So professional of our club to come out now and say he is being rested for an extended period......I know some "old school types" will consider this as being soft, but Angus' welfare is paramount and if he is allowed to make a full recovery then he will be all the more valuable to us too.....a win / win situation. Good luck Angus

An opportunity to bring back JT#9 -
Too true that we were actually beaten by a better and more experienced (playing together) side - no disgrace in that. I doubt if Spencer is ready yet for an AFL game though hopefully with a couple more at Casey he will. Any chance that Huelett could get a run? I would prefer OMcD to H - needs games under his belt, and is possibly part of our future. H isn't.

Jarryd Roughead's return to health, and football - update
monoccular replied to TeamPlayedFine39's topic in Melbourne Demons
That is very sad news. Brings back bad memories of Jimma - I hope that he has a better long term outcome. A bugger of a disease and totally unpredictable. Unfortunately though, sun protection is very much underrated especially amongst the "invincible young", but even when it is well followed there are failures. Get well, Jarryd. -
Maybe, but let's not experiment with this at AFL - if it is tried for a few weeks at Casey and it works, then yes, maybe.

He has become an important player and will be missed this week

Geez bandicoot - I am just so glad that you don't have any say whatsoever in our player management. Your totally inexpert opinion thankfully matters not. Exactly - give him as long as the medical experts think he needs. Saying he will be back in 2 weeks is just mind boggling - perhaps bandicoot has had a few too many concussions? + And he is now back with a vengeance. Angus is far too good a talent to risk in a year we are not destined for the top.....managed properly he could well be a very damaging asset when we are up there for a genuine crack at glory.

Playing his designated role to Roos' satisfaction.

I must say I haven't noticed that....will look more closely in the future. Though one would have to say others seem to target Jesse too.
-
.....and haven't played him in defence at all....did he play in defence in VFL at the weekend? If so, how did he go? Having been a bit of a Garland fan for a long time, I hate to say I think the game has overtaken him.

Holding the ball / prior opportunity / incorrect disposal
monoccular replied to Bluey's Dad's topic in Melbourne Demons
And I would disagree with both of you - it seems to be a minute to minute decision, or even second by second If you are referring to the one in ?Q4 in front of the MCC I saw it as a throw deliberate OOB - neither of which were paid -
Dawes has had only 2 games and is far from match fit, and he won't ruck so please give me a genuine relief ruck option.

I wonder if Dr Peter Dohrmann, neurosurgeon and former board member, and I believe sometime poster on this forum is still involved. His opinion would be valued and appreciated. IMVHO he needs to see a neurologist or neurosurgeon for a full assessment of his current situation, and be given the appropriate uncompromised amount of time away from the game. His health is so important to his long term future and if he can return to the game much later and have the impact he had then it would be great for the Demons too.
-
I must say Garland is a glaring weakness - not the right size for anyone, fumbles, poor vision. May be a really nice guy but nice guys don't win flags. IMVHO Frost must be given some games as a defender in Garland's place, and O Mc also needs game time when ready. However the whole team upfield right from deep forward need to exert more pressure in the ball carrier and no doubt will as the team matures together.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

SaberFang - I hope you aren't an alias for Chris (The Joker) Connolly! Could have us pinged for some yet to be defined offence. -
Are either (or both) of Weideman or Huelett looking like getting a run sometime later in the season? Both sound impressive for their age.
-
He (Angus) certainly is having an absolutely awful run of bad luck, when all was looking great for him after an amazing debut season. Absolutely none of it due to conditioning or player management, thus far at least..... IF indeed this is another concussion, he should see a neurologist / neurosurgeon for advice, but IMVHO he should be told to take a month off from footy, keep fit, and hit the reset button in July. So what if he misses most if not all of this season if it means getting everything right? There will be a place for him in our exciting midfield, meanwhile the likes of ANB, VDB can get a run. What we and he do NOT need is a season of repeated knocks and him ending up like Roh Bail or others like him.

And all this INTO a four goal wind? Really?

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
monoccular replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Please explain. How does he take responsibility for speculation? How would you make him take responsibility? Will you go and stand over him and demand he do? And I very much doubt if The Great Gawnius Maximus would chuck all over Jesse either. -
Totally meaningless unles we win and keep winning.
