Smaller Max will also be competing with Luker for the ruck / forward position. Can both succeed while Big Max is at his best? I must say that in the practice match at Casey v Toiges I though Brundy looked OK as a forward / ruck. But then maybe that was not a good test of the plan. Exactly. JVR ,Jeffo, Luker, not-quite-so-big Max and Mihocek (and AJ, Campbell)

The stand rule isn’t new, though overzealous policing does seem to be. IMO it is absolutely counterintuitive, and surely a 50 meter penalty is way way over the top. It appears that some players being told to stand genuinely don’t know exactly where to stand, and if they slightly shuffle to adjust - bang, 50. If they do stand as ordered, the umpires all too often call play on well after the kicker has taken off.

The absurd stand rule, or at least the overzealous enforcement of it as well as the overreach penalty of 50 meters is a blight on the game.

Do you really not understand? The MRO appears to have trouble making consistent rational decisions and appears to be seriously biased. A question for those in the know how much can one sustain aerobic fitness when one cannot run? how much does, say, swimming maintain general fitness? how soon can he maybe get on a stationary bike? Is the 4-6 weeks including no running for a few, then regaining fitness, or is it 4-6 before getting into full training?

No AMW? It has been a extremely slow recovery for a young guy post ACL. I would have thought that Luker was to be selected round 1, but of course he won't. So I would guess that Max the Younger should get a go - we surely know by now that using JVR as the back up ruck does nothing for his forward craft.
