Prior to our three wins in a row teams would have focused on their own game and not been too worried about what we did. After that they started to realize that of we got our game plan going we could be damaging hence a bit more planning. The Norf & Cartel games were two where we were outcoached in spectacular fashion. Games we should have been in with a shot. And for WCE to beat us was a huge poor effort from us.
The last thing DB needs is Connolly sitting beside him telling him what to do. Chris is not the coach or even a coach. He is the football manager. He is smart enough to let the coach do his job and at the appropriate time make suggestions which I know he does.
Newton's issues are that he does not contest anywhere near hard enough. His desire has shown to be lacking, he is terrible below his knees and supposed strength, goal kicking is abysmal.
Other than that he's OK.
LJ has been running full pelt for a while. He hasn't had much contact work because he had a shoulder injury......
Nick R hasn't been running for as long as he had a hamstring injury...
Pick Nick in a meaningless games v Melb or make sure he's safe and sound for the latter part of the season and finals...
Hmmm let me think about that for a minute...
We were 6th in clearances before the weekend game. We got smashed by Adelaide 50 to 26. We have actually been doing alright but the weekend was a disaster.
Blind Freddy could see we weren't running or tackling like we should be. To top it off the Crows sharked Jamar's taps beautifully.
Why oh why do we lower our intensity so much?????? The difference between our best and worst is unbelievable.
Yep happy to criticise them for a schoolboy error.
Watts though fell over at least a dozen times against Carlton though and should have learned his lesson. And if not someone should be telling these guys what to wear.
"Hey Jack (and others) its important you keep your feet so if you wear the moulded soles and fall over you will be dragged to go and change them"
It ain't rocket science.
How about Jack Watts spends some of his footy income on boots with %#^$&@)#$)(&$*)(* studs in them.
Then he might stop falling over every time the ball goes past the centre line.
I have heard DB specifically talk about Garland moving up fwd. Not sure why he hasn't yet done it but then I personally don't get a lot of inspiration from DB out of the box on game day.
