  1. Wow. Where do I start with this post. Every TV commentator was salivating at how fast Melbourne runs, spreads and moves the ball. I agree. And we were still running at the end. Not sure what game you watched. McKenzie has been a revelation this year - its hard to have much outside when you are the one inside getting the pill!! But the few times I have seen him receiving and giving he has proved to be pretty good. "The club is ruining Morton" - ROTFL - yep Morton is unhappy. But until he plays more defensively like the coaches want (and have told him repeatedly) he won't get back into the team. Morton more than any other player has been given an armchair ride to get games under his belt. Some might say he has had it too easy. A bit like the spoiled kid that doesn't have to work hard to get what he wants. Cale will learn. And he won't want to miss out on the next few years at the Dees. Oh, and the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree so when you look at his two brothers they also have difficulties with their coaches because they are perhaps too pigheaded to play the way the coach wants. Mitch Morton has only just got back into the Toiges side because Hardwick is trying to teach him to play a more team orientated game. As for DB not coping too well with players that are unhappy you have given me my first big belly laugh for the week. (thanks!) You could have added McLean to the list as well. Buckley was "uncoachable" according to one of the coaches I spoke to - wouldn't listen or do what was asked. He hasn't yet played a game at the Filth so maybe he hasn't learned a thing or maybe he is just not good enough. McLean was dropped for his lack of defensive effort. Didn't like it and left - great. Johnson was similar and hasn't set the world on fire either. No-one is lamenting the loss of any one of them. On the other hand, Dunn, Warnock and Bate have had spells at Casey to learn their craft the way the coaches want them to play. I applaud the coaches for this stance and can see readily that if you don't want to play the way the coach wants you are out. Warnock is doing great guns, Dunn has improved dramatically and Bate will learn his lesson. Let's hope Morton does as well. I nearly forgot your Junior comment. Ignorance at its best. Martin will finish top 2 or 3 in the Toiges B&F. Gun midfielder. Junior taught him a lesson. You couldn't have been watching could you?
  2. This oval was talked about as the best conditioned ground in Victoria during the pre-season. What happened????
  3. Beamer was never going to play. Injured his thigh at Training on Thursday. Jones wasn't dropped. Ducks and drakes.
  4. Lynden Dunn kicked 8 at Casey got recalled and has resurrected his career. I'm no Miller fan but give the guy his due.
  5. Tapscott would be before Blease. Maybe they both debut that rd.
  6. Depends on the injury. Bail played one game in the dewies and busted his cheekbone. Juniors was a decent hamstring. Overall though I think he is trying to create a culture of merit based performance. Although his mantra is still to get games into young players. There is a fine line with that as you still have to get the players to play how you want and with intensity - as Morton and Bate have found out.
  7. Now where have I heard that before
  8. Warnock has been in the best at Casey for three weeks running. I guess that's what you mean by form.
  9. Richmond was very lucky to win last week. Very poor kicking from the Crows kept them in the game. 2goals 9pts for the 2nd quarter I think. Dees by 34pts
  10. Jolly has not had an AA year. Jamar has smashed him twice hasn't he? Agree with most of the other comments. The Dees always get shafted in the AA. "It is not on one year's performance but a number of years" type comments come out. Robbo and Yze in particular were robbed in this regard. Successful teams always get more players than they deserve. Geelong in 07 had, what 9 players in the AA team?? Ridiculous.
  11. We have recruited some good players down back. That was our strategy. Wellman has them pretty well drilled and we are 7th on the points against table with no 10 goal losses (or obviously 100 pt losses) compared to the last 3 seasons. This means a couple of things. We are not turning it over as much coming out of defence - player skills have got better - and the midfield is doing a better job of restricting the ball coming in. Particularly by forcing the opposition wide. The boy has done good.
  12. Tommy Mac and Stef Martin can go back on the rookie list if we want to persevere with them as Meesen and Newton are as good as gone. Bell and Miller have had their opportunities. That frees up four spots. Then of course there may be other potential trades, delistings or retirements but I cannot see Warnock or Bate being among them.
  13. That'll be something to watch.
  14. Bring it on I say.
  15. Well, every one of your wishes came true!
  16. Radio said Bate, Warnock Trengove and Tapscott were our best. And McReadie of the non- Melb Casey players.
  17. I'll take Sylvia.
  18. Garland's game in 2008 against a rampaging Buddy was his best I reckon. Buddy kicked 100 that year and Garland held him to 2 or 3 from memory - when we were shizen.
  19. You'll never win an argument with an ignorant man.
  20. 15 Captains 12 numbers Clearly having been watching closely enough like my wife thinks I do.
  21. Hopefully Blease can get some game time in the Casey 1's. And its great to see Strauss back from injury as well.
  22. Im rapt. Junior's back!
  23. Neita was our best ever goal kicker, games record holder and longest serving Captain. I'd say that qualifies as great.
