  1. My tip is for Warnock to come back in and play on Brown. Beamer won't come up. Junior is an automatic inclusion. MacDonald and Bail are Queenslanders who played well last week. Unlikely to be dropped. Maric played OK last week but I think he will be the unlucky one unless there is another injury we don't know about. Go Junior!
  2. Key forwards can be great but its not the end if you don't have one. But having a big body to contest is important IMO. With the run and carry game today its hard to have a Fevola type who won't/can't chase defenders. Miller has been disappointing because he hasn't even been able to contest and get the ball to our runners and small forwards. The club has experimented with Stef Martin, Miller and even PJ and the message is that players can't be one dimensional. If they can't take a big grab then they have to be able to contest and keep the ball in the fwd line. All that is fine in the home and away season but its finals that count which is why the Dogs recruited Hall I guess. I have been trying to think of the last premiership side with a small forward line or without a big key forward??? Probably Adelaide in 1998. So the conventional wisdom is you can't win a flag without one.
  3. Next we won't be playing footy but having a "meet". Good grief...
  4. Bulldogs No 1 Dees No 2 !!!!!! We are a long way behind the Dogs and low in total clearances but centre clearance difference (ie: against your opponent on the day) - we are way up there! Anyone that has questioned Jamar and Beamers (and Jnr and Jordy and Trengove's) ability to clear the pill should take note. According to the AFL website: In 2010 there is one clear standout when looking at clearance differences. The majority of the competition is reasonably close - Brisbane is ranked 16th with a -5 difference, Fremantle ranked second with +1.9. The team ranked first? The Western Bulldogs, with an incredible +9.2 average clearance difference. Moving towards finals, which have often been won and lost at stoppages, this figure is an ominous sign for any opponent. Nine more opportunities to score from a clearance per match is a telling statistic. An interesting figure from Melbourne’s perspective comes from centre bounce clearances. Ranked 10th in total centre bounce clearances, the Dees are actually +20 in differences for the year, leaving them behind only the Bulldogs (+52, amazingly) overall.
  5. OK Here goes, I' d prefer Watts to take a hanger in the back line get a 50m penalty and drill a torp from 65m out after the siren. Then the NikNat fanboys would shut TFU!!!!!!
  6. LOL That's gold! Oh and a rolling stone is worth two in the bush.
  7. You were watching a different game to me then. I thought he did a number of good things. His pressure was good, his second efforts were terrific and he had I think two goal assists. He made some errors but I would expect him to learn from them. Whether he gets to stay in the team tho will depend on the match ups. I thought the Coaches picked the right team for their game plan against the Swans. I have confidence they wil do that again against Bris.
  8. He could well be better than Scarlett.
  9. Just wait til we get Jack VINEY!!!!!!!!!!! Under the father/son. Then you'll hear em squeal! Woo Hoo!!!!!!
  10. OMG he's off to the Gold Coast..... apparently the house McKenna bought for Petterd is being offered to Watts....
  11. The winner will come from the first 8 nominations. That's what history tells us. 1. Yarran 2. Hannebury 3. Bastinac 4. NicNat 5. Trengove 6. Banfield 7. Scully 8. Melksham Scully, Trengove Hannebury daylight NikNat
  12. Why would you say that? It's incorrect.
  13. Yep he definitely needs game time...
  14. I have shocking memories of a game several years back at the 'G when we were flying and Dermie was playing for the Swans. They had lost 23 in a row (?) and yet towelled us up in a very inept performance by our guys.
  15. Why does anyone believe what the Injury Lists say? It's used to confuse opposition clubs more than anything.
  16. The decision to recruit Pergola and offer up Bradshaw was by far the worst decision Voss Made. Cost them a lot and gained nothing on the field. Tore the fabric of the club with Bradshaw's treatment. AND they got a mindless troublemaking bogan. Rolled the dice and lost badly. Others have tried before Voss to do a similar thing. Only Roos and to a lesser extent Lyon have succeeded IMO. I personally have never seen anything to say Voss can coach. COuldn't understand the frenzy when he was touted as being available.I LOVED the fact that Essendon panicked and sacked Sheedy and were then forced to take Knights. But Voss has no coaching experience and was a huge risk. It failed.
  17. THAT EMBLEM SHOULD BE DELETED As much as I am interested in seeing it, NO Melbourne supporter would want to detract from a club initiative that might generate good publicity etc. Let the club have its moment in the sun FFS. And I love the fact its your second post and you signed up specifically just to show how smart you are. I personally wish you would **** off.
  18. It's like having a tall defender on the goal line when a player is shooting fm 50m. Obvious but frustrating how many times it doesn't happen.............. Maybe some of these guys skipped Grade 6 where we all learned these things??!?!?!?
  19. Maric was the guy I picked to have a break out year. It's not too late but.......
  20. Strauss is injured.
  21. The fact the rule is debated at length by pretty much ALL supporters and commentators shows there is something wrong with the rule. As for its inconsistent interpretation.....Aaarrrrggghhhhhh!
  22. The Gys got crunched in the Filth gamer from memory.....
  23. One day we'll get 120 1 percenters. I'm not sure of that's allowed.
  24. Oh, you mean someone like Ben Holland??
  25. (Yawn) Martin is 198cm project player that until around 4 years ago was playing basketball. If big players who have been playing footy all their lives take a long time to mature then Stef will possibly take a will as well. They don't fall off trees you know, they have to be developed and persevered with. Lucky you aren't on the match committee I'd say.
