  1. You need to be nominated by Rd 8 to win it. In its history only 2 players nominated after Rd 8 have won. Kozitscke(Rd 14) and Cousins (Rd 12).
  2. He didn't need to be match fit to spot Petterd standing alone in the goal square in the last minute of the match! He could have won the game.
  3. Who are you??? Ross Oakley???? Leave the game alone!!
  4. Was definitely his preferred left foot.
  5. And we play Adelaiade, Richmond and North in the next four weeks! All teams below us!!!!!
  6. Great match up. Not too many would have predicted that before the game. In fact I think most of the match ups today were superb. Grimes and Frawley killed Didak and Medhurst.
  7. Great match ups today. DB deserves a lot of credit. Jnr on Swan Grimes on Didak Petterd on Shaw Davey in the middle Bennell in the fwd line Even Newton as a back up ruckman! McKenzie in the middle was outstanding. Jamar blitzed Fraser and Jolly. Good work coach.
  8. What about the last quarter????? Shaw trying to evade a tackle and getting caught - no free. Bennell on the MCC wingheld around his lower legs no less reaching out for the ball on the turf 2metres in front of him!!! Umpire 22 missed the most disgraceful holding free to the Dees in our backline and 20 seconds paid a soft holding free against Scully (who had knocked the ball clear in his tackle) for a Filth goal. Robbed.
  9. If we get the ball in 44 times its imperative that the ball is kept in there until we score. That shaw ain't happening.
  10. Charles got his wrist infected I believe because he went against doctors orders not to go swimming in the Murray River or similar. That was the beginning of the end.
  11. You are wrong. Sylvia had clearly gotten rid of the ball.
  12. Given we only had 6 players who had more than 10 kicks on the weekend I'd suggest we just want players who can kick!
  13. Left footers kick better "There is a direct parallel between kicking efficiency and winning premierships," Pelchen said. "If it came down to (drafting) players of comparable ability we'd take the player who kicked left foot."
  14. That quote is so wide of the mark. Its exactly who they have been trying to recruit. Blease, Strauss etc. Check this quote from BPrendergast: Melbourne is not saying officially who it will draft on Thursday night, but Prendergast admits that, in the grand final forever being played in his mind, he sees the need for ''some blokes who can deliver the ball to Jack and Liam in the forward line''.
  15. Brock and Sylvia were drafted because we had no inside mids and needed tough nuts who could get the pill out to players like Johnstone. Same as Beemer and Jones.
  16. Consider our backline is supposed to be one of our 'strengths'. Its hard to stop their fwds when the ball comes in relentlessly at speed. But our defensive pressure is non-existent. And worse, they are static. What have they been doing since October??
  17. You must be kidding, right?
  18. Ha I just realised. I am going to change it now!
  19. Against Hawthorn only six players had more than 10 kicks. Those players averaged 69% efficiency (I guess that number would incl handballs). Melb had more handballs than kicks - 175 kicks and 176 handballs. Marks were Haw 133 to Melb 85. (well I guess we can't mark it if we don't kick it) I would hate to see a stat for running hard but I imagine it would be horrendous. Summary: We don't run anywhere near hard enough, we don't kick it. We can't possibly win or play decent footy with a so-called game plan like this. We were equal with the Hawks in Age and Games played but thats where it ended.
  20. Grimes and Garland are capable of being ones that step up. And potentially Max Gawn altho clearly we havent seen him at the Dees yet. His height and flexibility were on show at Sandy and he has plenty of potenti.......(Ican't quite bring myself to say it) What I find interesting is players at say WCE and Geelong who wouldn't have been seen as guns unless they were playing in a good side. Someone like an Enright or maybe Chad FLetcher. Maybe I haven't picked the right examples but I'd like to see how Enright was regarded if he was at Fremantle or Cam Bruce at Geelong.
  21. I'll tell you one thing for free! If they ain't nominated before Rd 8 they won't win.
  22. Robbo played as a small fwd in 2005 and kicked 70 goals. He didn't make Mike's top 50. Its clearly subjective but I stand by my call that Le Cras shouldn't be there.
  23. Aside from the fact Robbie wasn't playing when Mike started compiling his Top 50 .....Mike had Cox at 13 and Kerr at 19. Hardly a winning side last year? And Le Cras at 49??WTF?? Good player but nowhere near top 50.
  24. Sheeds was VERY dirty on the Dees for the perceived 'slight'. ANd as Gaz was on the panel it added fuel to the fire...
  25. Its irrelevant how many games a team has won. Its about the individual. Sylvia last year cld have easily made it.
