  1. Because the club didn't have your crystal ball. What a genius you must be. (psst we didn't pick up James Hird a few years back with pick 79 either....)
  2. I reckon that the APS footy comp is nowhere near as physical as some of the suburban leagues. That might mean some of the APS boys take a little while longer to adujst to the physicality of AFL. Its only food for thought....
  3. Your last reason is poor. And being a best player (arguably) doesn't mean he should be Captain.
  4. Interestingly the Boomers (National Basketball Team) is sponsored by Golden Star!!! I had to look up who they were. Golden Star International Investment Pty Ltd is a Chinese company that was established in 1995 and has since focused on sports exchange and cooperation between China and Australia. Golden Star's business includes commercial operations in basketball and football, the organising of sports tours between Australian and Chinese sports clubs, as well as sports marketing and sponsorship development. Amazing that our National basketball team has to be sponsored by a CHinese investment company!! Poor state of affairs that..
  5. No doubt he was told and yes its the right decision. Well done Junior. Terrific career from the rookie list. When you consider that something like 80% of players drafted play less than 15 games its marvellous. And none of the C*** that Essendon went through with Matthew Lloyd. The club has handled the situation with dignity and class. Well done Dees.
  6. Green undoubtedly. Beemer and Davey have plenty of years left. Green is approaching veteran status and he deserves it for his courage, on field leadership and dedication to the Dees.
  7. Yeah, but Caulfield is not a 'real private school' to quote the Coodabeens
  8. Sydney are really amazing. For years they have had such a settled team, very few injuries. Yet they play such a taxing game. Must have some miracle workers in the medical dept.
  9. Junior's the man.
  10. Didn't we have an issue with I think Freo earlier in the year running on to the ground with a stretcher and the player wasn't even injured? They were trying to slow the game down from memory. The Doctor apparently 'saw' that the player was concussed (from 100 m away!)
  11. Maybe its easier to 'guide' the ball on to the boot as there is more grip with the dropping hand. Not sure how it affects the spin during flight though. Maybe someone here could try it to see whether the spin pattern is more stable or otherwise??
  12. Bell Miller Tommy Mac Easy really. Tom is unlucky but hasn't managed to break in. Jordie will be elevated which means we will get two picks only IMO
  13. 6. Bruce 5 Frawley 4 Rivers 3 TMR 2 Bail 1 Junior Sylvia got a fair amount of ball but his opponent for most of the day was arguably BOG.
  14. 22yo. A beauty already. great future. A smart player who knows how lucky he is, how fleeting his time in the game will be...Compare that to Colin Sylvia who has taken 6 years to work that out. Good article
  15. [quote name='DeesPower' date='14 August 2010 - 03:21 PM' timestamp='1281763300' post='357307'. Not sure about Strauss - he lacks intensity for mine.
  16. A fractured fibula should only take 3-5 weeks unless: there some complications (ie needs an operation because of floating bone fragments and an infection follows) It is not weight bearing and does not connect to the knee joint. The tibea takes all the weight. If you are going to do one, its the one to do. Agree about the Bennell role. Good learning curve for him. He's a bit light for centre clearance stuff though.
  17. What kind of twisted logic is that?
  18. Facts are facts. Hawks were better at clearances and I50s. However we matched them well and clearly had the game within reach but couldn't do it at the end. This doesn't excuse the fact that the umpires were a disgrace and ruined what was a tough, hard fought, even game. Full stop. When you have Dunstall and Quartermain saying the umpires had made major errors in Hawthorn's favour its hard to argue against that! So my three reasons are: 1. Filthy 2. ********* 3. Maggots There I feel a little better.
  19. Good to see Morton in the best...
  20. Its not about the fwd line. Its all about the midfield. The pressure they put on and the ball they can get I50. Our I50 numbers are poor and it ain't the fwds that are the problem - they are actually very efficient. Everyone here waxes lyrical about our midfield but that stats don't lie. They have a long way to go. Plenty of potential but they are our problem at the moment.
  21. Good to hear that talk because Garland will take him. Has matched it with Buddy before and we need CHip closer to goal.
  22. UNCHANGED LINE UP FOR SUNDAY's GAME!!
  23. Jones has still got a lot to learn. Particularly his defensive side which is why he has been tagging a fair bit over the past month. Has a great work rate and is hell bent on improvement so my guess is he'll make it. He's only 22yo and has played 89 games!! Will be part of a great engine room for years to come.....
  24. He led the club in goal assists last year and was 4th in the B&F I think. The club rates him but is now in a position to dictate the work ethic required by dropping players to work on their game. We haven't been in such a position for a very long time and we are lucky that our injuries are relatively light and the competition for spots is intense. It's a good thing people and he will be back a better player. And if not , he goes. Simple really. Same for Cale same for Dunny same for Warnock, same for all. The players have played during enough bad times to want to be here when thee good times are rolling. And they have just started to roll about now....
