  1. Ring em up and tell you to send the right one...
  2. Not the Dons. They have form. Were penalised in 1996 for breaches between 91 and '96. They won a flag in his period remember.....
  3. I thought it was common knowledge that he wouldn't play or wasn't up to DBs game plan. The major point being his defensive work was sub-par.
  4. Prepare to mix with lots of Doggie supporter coming from out West!
  5. Last year we played Adelaide at the G on a freezing (14deg) Subday afternoon at 4:40pm. We got bagged widely in the media cos we only had 14,400ish. The previous day at 2pm Sat afternoon in bright sunshine, Geelong played Richmond at Kardinia Park and only had 15,000. Not a word spoken. The whole crowd thing makes me scream. Perception is reality people and we have to stop the perception we draw small crowds. We may not be able to get 90k (altho we did for the 2000 GF) but we regularly get 60k for QB - a home game against a big drawing team. The draw is stuffed but we cannot let media stereotypes about crowd numbers to flourish.
  6. IMO they won't drop Joel MacD. He played a poor game but they need his solid body and experience against the Doggies. Should do well on Hahn I reckon. And for third man up against Bazza. Gysberts for Bennell is more interesting. We wouldn't lose much and just might gain some cleaner disposal.
  7. I think there is a limit on how many can be inducted each year. Gary will probably get in eventually. The older we get the better he was....
  8. Not sure about that. he was returning from injury and needed the Casey run. But yes they are most likely aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
  9. I don't think so but I suspect the match committee think Rivers is one of our best defenders. Needs to run more otherwise he becomes a liability.
  10. So, what...you can't get to the Hall of Fame because you have had too many parking tickets?? Where do you draw the line?? He's a [censored] but it's about football. Nothing else.
  11. Australian hockey ex-Captain and Coach Ric Charlesworth said a number of years ago when assisting at WCE that it has taken AFL 100 years to work out that you are allowed to kick the ball backwards. The only way to stop this nonsense is to restrict the interchange. In years gone by players couldn't run for 4 quarters and we had less collision type injuries. We also had more one-on-one contests and IMO footy was generally more attractive to watch. Can't stand this basketball/soccer/hockey zone crap.
  12. Cale is an automatic 'in' once he has fitness. WHo gets dropped will depend on match ups. FWIW Garland will play fwd this week.
  13. Has been playing upfield at Casey to get game time, action and to build his build fitness. Will be picked when ready. Enough said.
  14. It's called insurance. A La Hawthorn.
  15. And Judd only had 68% efficiency yesterday. The Cartel should drop him immediately. You guys need to get real. You don't know what Dunn's role was. What the Coach told him to do and more importantly whether he did it. And another poster suggesting we drop Bartram is mindless. Blitzed Harvey yesterday.
  16. I have heard DB say on a number of occasions that Garland will play forward this year. Well, now is about the right time with Ricky Bobby likely gone for a period. Rivers is back and doesn't appear to me someone who can go fwd. Watts is not ready yet. Newton is, well, Newton. Dunn should ideally be the guy but hasn't set the world on fire in recent forays fwd. Shame since he is the same size as Pavlich and 1cm smaller than Goodes and Reiwoldt. For mine I'd like to see Garland fwd now that he has a few games under his belt and has some fitness.
  17. Grimes came to us because we traded Travis to Brisbane for pick 14.
  18. Is this the quote you wanted to use to remind us of your genious????
  19. It's what DB has been trying to do for a while. Basically the players are running and running hard. They are spreading and offering options. They have faith that their lead will be honoured (ie: someone will kick it to them). We are definitely hitting targets. We are moving the ball quickly and so are not doing the ring-a-rosy thing with handballs in the backline. Because we are moving quickly players upfield are getting free of their opponents. Players are gaining more confidence in their ability to take on the game. It's a virtuous circle but one that is broken if one part doesn't function like it should.
  20. What he's saying is that every game from the 2003 premiership until now they have had at least 1 premiership player playing. Good stat that. They'll have as much experience as us! In fact we'll have more because Green played in the 2000 GF.
  21. The advantage of using a relief ruck is that we have an extra running player which can come in very handy.
  22. If we had have won that game against Richmond we would have simply lost to Freo in the next few rounds. Draft picks 1 & 2 delivered. So while Jordan was handy for us he wouldn't have dee-railed our plans
  23. It was a different leg, not a re-occurring injury.
