Exactly It's either: a) Coach outlines new game plan and tells player what he needs to do to fit in to it. Player spits dummy and leaves. or; b) Coach tells trouble maker about the new 'no DH policy' and player leaves. Doesn't matter which. I'm happy. The club moves on.

Sometimes guys coming in here and there are a fresh voice and their words have more impact - particularly if they are greats of the game like Scarlett, Hawkins etc. Listening to the same coach week in week out can be a little monotonous depending on their message delivery.

JVR in 2024/25 tried to wrestle with the backs and failed. He's a good kid with pretty good attributes. But we have had no effective fwd coach for him to learn off. His leading patterns are non-existent and he doesn't know how to 'lose' a close checking backman. Expect this to change this year and he will flourish.

It's clear that people don't understand how a fwd game is played. They days of bombing a ball on the head of a key fwd are mostly gone. Thats what we have done for the past 4 seasons. We had butchers in the middle who blindly kicked it. Calling for a key fwd to fix this problem has gone the way of 'kick it to snake' Go and watch two videos, 1 Jeff White breaking down where Melbourne has failed - and he compares this with Geelong who are the number 1 team for fwd craft.
