  1. Fritch when recruited had almost zero defensive skills but he was a good field kick. So playing him across half back early on was a chance to benefit from his kicking plus teach him how to defend at AFL level. Its not unusual for juniors coming into the AFL system to go through that journey. Fritsch came in on a different pathway but had similar deficiencies to a lot of newbies. It took Fritsch several years to get up to speed with senior AFL footy. 'break out' years often come after a player realises the work required to succeed at AFL level and they have an outstanding summer of training - maybe bulking up or getting a running coach or undergoing an attitudinal shift to take every training session at a high intensity. It varies. Culley looks exactly like this. He has natural talent, has had an interrupted career, been rejected, fought back, taken his chances at senior level and has had a summer to remember. he is leaving no stone unturned. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating but all the ingredients are there for him to enjoy a great season.
  2. also said of Kozzie, Bowser, Luke Jackson, D Turner, Rivers, Langford, etc etc What's your point?
  3. Intensity - you either have it or you haven't Sorry jeffo
  4. He missed half a season with a hammy...............
  5. First I have heard this summer about Lever being in the thick of it. Glad to hear. May and Lever seem to have been forgotten and could still be very potent for us up back With Petty, Taylor, TMac and Disco interchanging around our defence could prove to be pretty solid.
  6. They sometimes issue updates if an event supercedes filming
  7. The makers of Drive to Survive have done a series on the AFL based on the 2025 season and guess which club features prominently throughout? Yep The Demons. Just when we thought the trials and tribulations of 2025 were past us out comes a docu that will shine a spotlight on the machinations of the AFL and Demons Great. The other clubs to feature are the DOgs (Bontomepelli) Brisbane (Zorko and Rayner), the Giants (of course!), Gold Coast (what a surprise) and Freo. Strangely enough the Lachie Neale sag won't be highlighted but you can be sure Oliver, Trac, Goodwin etc will be front and centre.
  8. #Goodwin myth no 2 Goodwin was flexible....
  9. Short highlights I know but not so much contest and defence there....
  10. I was standing in line at the ATM the other day waiting to take out some money and an old lady asked me to help check her balance. So I pushed her over.
  11. My wife and I can never agree on holidays I want to fly to exotic places and stay in 5 star hotels. And she wants to come with me.....
  12. I'm hoping every single player has a breakout year. Go Dees
  13. I asked my gym instructor to teach me how to the splits.... She said 'how flexible are you?' I said "I can't do Tuesdays'......
  14. Neither Pavlich, Stuart Loewe, Bruest, Stevie Johnson etc etc average 2 goals a game. Quite a bar you are setting.
  15. If our game plan changes as we expect then our fwd line will be a big beneficiary. Guys like Chandler, JVR, Melksham, L Pickett, Mihocek will shine.
  16. Came 6th in our best and fairest AHEAD of Oliver. It must have hurt you badly... He also won the Ronald Dale Barassi Leadership Award. Shows you what the heirarchy thinks of him
  17. Exactly It's either: a) Coach outlines new game plan and tells player what he needs to do to fit in to it. Player spits dummy and leaves. or; b) Coach tells trouble maker about the new 'no DH policy' and player leaves. Doesn't matter which. I'm happy. The club moves on.
  18. Not too late..... When you’re kicking for goal And you can’t even score, that’s Petracca When your brand is a mess and your girlfriend is stressed that’s Petracca Fans will sing, kick the thing, stats are great, try your hardest What’s the point, when its done, if you kick and can’t hit a target….
  19. Got quite high hopes for AMW. Has all the tricks, just needs a good run with luck. Looking fwd to see what he can bring in '26
  20. You're saying the coach wants to play a certain style and wants a certain style of player and the List Management Committee overrules him? The coach says he wants troublemakers gone and the Football dept are going to overrule him? That's not how how it works.
  21. Not when said player destroys the culture at a club
  22. 20 g from 19 games in 2025 and 9 goals from 20 games in 2024 says he sure as hell isn't a forward. How much evidence do you need?
  23. We will Sad for you that we won't ever know how we would have fared had we done nothing Fortunately the club made a reasoned decision that 2 years of no improvement was not acceptable.
  24. Spotify age 77 Its at least 20y out!
