Its not about today. Sheedy had his nose out of joint because we showed him no respect. Every chance he has had he sticks it to us. Whether it be in the media, poaching Tom Scully or nominating Jack Viney (which I am sure he will do). He his a first class scumbag. His 2000 GF effort was a disgrace (as was the AFL's non-response to the violence). I hope like anything we beat them by 100 points today.

Ricky was playing limited game time. They are obviously managing his return. That said he wasn't a stand out as he should be.

Neeld's comments in the paper this morning were instructive. Sam is a very good kick at training and at Casey. He needs to bring that same skill level to the senior team.

Mid-Season Review Part One: Jones to McKenzie
jnrmac replied to Johnny Karate's topic in Melbourne Demons
A consistent run?? OMG get some facts right. Has played the following games: 2005 16 2006 17 2007 16 2008 18 2009 19 2010 15 2011 19 2012 6 Has played a total of 127 games and is the most frustrating player on our list next to Morton. Should be a superstar but has no second efforts - except when he is running away from a car crash at 5am. Needs a Steve Johnson rocket up his clacker or its career over.- 20 replies

Mid-Season Review Part One: Jones to McKenzie

Well Satyricon, he's been un-picked now. Quite right too. Aside from his obvious howler his last quarter with three turnovers was a disgrace.- 20 replies

Mid-Season Review Part One: Jones to McKenzie
jnrmac replied to Johnny Karate's topic in Melbourne Demons
Col is in his 8th season, Has never finished inside the top 5 in the B&F. I am not sure what you don't get? Cannot regularly produce. Full stop. As for Cale: Still picked..... yep, sadly. But for a first year coach he has to I guess try every avenue to get a player to come to the party. Cale is contracted for next year so wile they can dump him if they want (and I do want) the reality is Neeld actually has no choice but to try and get him playing consistently good footy. I wish him the best of luck.- 20 replies

Our fwd line has performed quite well with Garland and Rivers. And when Chippa wasn't playing the backline did tremendously well.

Need to elevate someone off the rookie list now - Couch now I would have thought. Not like for like but hard at the contest....

I think we should simply chant "LIAR" long and slow all afternoon. 'Scruples' and 'integrity' and 'filthy stinking money grubbing worm' are too hard in the chanting department. That would have a lot of impact on him if we did it right.

Caddy - do we want him and if so what's he worth?
jnrmac replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
We will still have to give up our first pick to get Viney. The F/S must be nominated before the draft to stop tampering.. -
There is nearly 22,000 Vietnamese Dong to the AUD. We could shower him with Dong ha ha. The money grubbing creep would probably chase around and pick it up so he gets it before fat phil....

Wow. We can still keep Cale's thread at the top of the Forum even though Locker ROom is now officially defunct....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
jnrmac replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
Careers are judged by performance in finals. And Stretch's career was definitely marked by that incident. Having said that I am reliably informed he was one of the first players picked every week. I liked him as a player. But if you bother to read the threads above I was responding to this quote below which is simply untrue. I would take him over Morton anyday because his skills were so much better - his physicality is probably about the same. -

Scully is a gun. Dreamteam this year 87, 75, 107, 44, 75, 78, 71, 90 and 64 GWS must be thrilled at their $2m a year man.

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere but I couldn't find it, Firstly, when the goal umpire stands up against the post and it hits the goal umpire, the ball is deemed to have hit the post. Can someone explain why when the ball hit the Coll players leg that was up against the goal post why it was deemed 'play on' with the subsequent goal to the Pies? Surely this should have been a point?? And while I am on it the video referee is stuffed, They simply have not got it right and we have been on the receiving end numerous times now. In the Ess game with Nicholson's goal when it wasn't referred (and clearly should have been - and awarded a goal!) and against the Filth a week later (when they belatedly referred it - after the ball was returned to the centre square - and then made IMO an incorrect decision). Typical AFL knee-jerk rule implementation without consideration for variables that occur. And poor education of players and umps in how the rule works. It was the same with the rushed behind rule brought in a few years ago after the Hawks won the GF. Players still don't understand it!
