  1. You must be an exceptional individual.
  2. Well here is another pre-season that will have been interupted (after last years finger injury). Let's hope it doesn't derail his season (again)...
  3. GWS is right. Sorry I have been offline for a few hours. A good example of how stats can lie! STriker is the man. Well done Cheers
  4. Which team average the highest number of games played? (clue: Only players that have played at least 1 game are included in the calculations)
  5. WHY DO THEY NEED A SONG? I would have thought they would think about penning one in about 2014....
  6. Wow. They are a pretty good assessment I reckon. This seems to be a Neeld driven trend - honest appraisals, no nonsense, expectations clearly outlined. I like it
  7. Peoples NAB Cup is simply practice. Experiment time. This is not about the supporters it's about checking our list under match conditions. It's actually pretty important for the club to have this opportunity. Personally I don't want any fierce physical contact until rd 1. It's a long season and history shows that the guys who keep their team on the paddock generally do well. Misson, remember, got the Swans through to Premiership with only 1 change in the named side from rd 15. Amazing really. Craig's record as fitness advisor under Blight delivered 2 premierships. These guys know what they are doing. Let 'em do their job.
  8. How about we give em Cale Morton. Pick 4 for Pick 4
  9. I challenge you to find anywhere Brad said he would put himself in the draft. It would be possible that a journo asked him the question about whether he would and answered "it's an option" or some such thing but that is a whole different slant than you are suggesting. And if he doesn't try to negotiate the best deal for himself he would be stupid. Just because we would all play for nothing doesn't mean they would or should. This misguided notion of loyalty to a club doesn't really exist widely. Sure there examples of it but mostly players have to look after their interests.
  10. Just to clarify, that was Craig who hadn't watched any games, not Neeld, The point he made was they are focusing on their game plan and specifics not on someone else's. Fair enough. And re Sponsors - this was an Altitude Volvo event so it wouldn't have been approrpiate in any case .
  11. Jade Rawlings is a straight shooter. Very impressive. Said Cale was unhappy with his form of the past two years. Was working hard to fit into the backline. Said that the backline initially had some trust issues with Cale (I took that to mean whether they could rely on him to fulfill his role) but that they had worked hard to deal with those in a constructive way and were looking very positive. Similarly his comments on Clark were to the point and illuminating. Spoke with Craig about the game plan and exactly how hard it was to change. Said he was a very structured coach and had to tone that down because he flirted with killing off all the flair. Neeld unsurprisingly is a 'structure' guy. And depending on the age/maturity of the players and how tght the structures were had the biggest impact on how long players took to adapt. Hasn't watched any of last years games on tape which I thought was interesting. Training is very focused on match simulations and endurance as we all know. We are in good hands I feel.
  12. You can't argue that the Club does not see Beamer as a leader. That's what started this 'debate'. Are you saying he is a leader?
  13. OK you can have Jarrod Grant, Lachlan Hansen and Scott Gumbleton. I suspect you wouldn't take them...
  14. Hardly 50 games between the first two and another one that hasn't even been drafted yet....
  15. Well thought out rebuttal Stuie. Feel free at any time to address my statement.
  16. We were 1.5 games out of the 8 after rd 17. Didn't deserve to get in the 8 but we weren't that far out of it.
  17. That is compete bulltish. There are dozens of posters here at Demonland who know what is happening in the inner circle of the club.....
  18. Wow. Beamer haters? Not sure if you were referring to my post but as I stated I mostly love his work on the field. He is classic good ordinary player and tremendous part of our team. He doesn't tear oppositions apart which in his position and with his experience he should do against more than weaker teams. I am simply making statements about his leadership. Two different things. As for the Bartram comparison, Bartram is a defender against the oppositions most dangerous small player, he is not the type to drag us back into the game when we are getting pole-axed. Neeld clearly knows what he wants in leaders and I suggest he knows them a lot better than we do as watchers from afar.
  19. Misleading stat. Effective hit outs which are a very low number. We were 3rd last for inside 50s. Largely due to midfield. It's clear from the pre-season work we have done under Misson that we weren't fit enough to run back and cover off teamates (a la Pies and Saints). Hopefully this year we have the fitness base to deliver a game plan. Aside from the game when he had 20 or so clearances Beamer did not really damage opposition teams.
  20. I preface this by saying I love Brent Moloney's work on field. But Moloney is not a leader. He is vocal and he is in an under but he is a bit of a flat track bully that can dominate weaker teams but be completely cut out of the game when we play good teams. He doesn't appear to be, on his record, a player who can drag us back into the game when we are getting beaten. We cannot see what goes on behind closed doors but I have to assume that what Neeld sees he doesn't think of him as a leader. Have you ever thought that maybe he didn't want to be leader? People can lead in different ways and you don't always need a title to lead. actions and deeds are important. Or it simply could be they wanted a clean break with the past. Or maybe the two Jacks were simply better all round candidates. FInally If you have ever listened to Brent speak he isn't the most articulate person around. This may have been a deciding factor. So I haven't heard from inner sources but to me I wasn't surprised.
  21. Has had a good pre-season and by all reports is looking at that Chris Yarran, Leon Davis type of role. A real smokey for us to be the bolter of the year.
  22. Maybe you need to write more - like stating where your 'fact' came from.
