You clearly didn't watch the last quarter where he butchered it three times.

His trade value is zero. The best draft of all time supposedly - as if anyone will give up something for Morton. As for your 5 minutes of poor play I suggest you watch the last quarter again where he butchered the ball 3 times (once for a direct goal). Malthouse, Watson, Brereton, Lyon, Commetti and Mcivaney all potted him for his insipid play all day, lack of commitment to the contest, urgency and poor skills. Yet some here are pleading for more time. After 4 years and 70 games I think we have seen what he can and can't do. The jury is in. He has been told again and again what to do and he simply can't do it, I don't care what number he was drafted at he is simply not up to it,. The sooner some here get used to it the better,

Oh, a broken nose doesn't count as a poor outcome?

Yes plenty. Has been gifted more games than anyone bar Watts. Keep repeating this drivel. He had a finger injury last season. Big deal. Hasn't stopped Jones. Someone with desire, tenacity and perseverance. Scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Oh diddums, didn't they talk to you?? It clearly doesn't matter what they say to him., He seems incapable of doing it. I am certain they are not telling him to play the way he is. Don't you get sick of blaming everyone else - you must be a Gen Y. So you finally admit he has gone backwards. But you can't bring yourself to believe its the players fault? You got that right. PLaying him when he doesn't deserve it for one. Not sending him to Casey until he can play like he is supposed to. Only some? And after 4 years and 68 ish games you think he might improve? Dream on. It's pretty simple. All players have some talent. That's why they get drafted. SOme players have a tremendous work ethic and desire. That's why they succeed. Talent is nothing without hard work. Cale doesn't do enough of it. You simply cannot be watching the game. He doesn't work anywhere near hard enough. Doesn't run both ways and his skills have failed time and time again, There is nothing so blind as a man who cannot see,

Oh yeah. Silky. That's French for turnover.

It was a good deal for Melbourne, Bad for the Hawks. We would have been given $6m from the AFL, had the pick of the players and had a training facility etc. But its history and the vitriol shown to guys like Ridley was disgusting.

Brent Grgic was a better footballer than Cale.

Are you referring to the clash of heads? Nothing to report there.

Wow what a thread. Here goes. Neeld is trying to teach contested footy. Why do you think he has played Rivers and Garland up forward? ASk yourself that question before potting Magner. Why do you think Jack Watts is being played in defence? This is a learning year, sadly. But learning needs to be done. Magner has been 'roles' like a lot of our players. And he has been largely doing them pretty well.

Hitouts to advantage - its not his fault that our mids suck. Beamer's stats yesterday were embarrassing,

Leave him alone. Give him ten years to prove himself like Morton and Sylvia.

Keep it up Jose. Week after week. Same mistakes, week in week out, No defensive pressure, knocked off the ball too easily, turnovers, sloppy decision maker. What has he actually got? Your support won't save him.
-
Ah, the old selective stats. Didn't want to include 2012 hey BH? Oh yeah that would fit your argument would it. Game time. Probably not either? I agree with you about playing in a good team. It's easier no doubt but Sylvia is in his what, 8th year? plays a lot of game time and has the occasional blinder but more than not a poor to average return. AS for effort, don't get me started. And if you really think he's a gem then it says all I need to know.
-
Wow. You didn't notice the 10 losses? Or Cale, Or JB?
-
Simply doesn't work hard enough, turns it over, gets pushed off the ball, refuses to go near his man and can't kick. Other than that he's great.

Wellingham is a whippet compared to Col. But time after time he used his strength to push our players off the ball and get position. His marking and commitment was outstanding, Col should dream about being as consistently good a player

A quote from Dermot Brereton at half time as reported by The Australian: Cale Morton is often maligned but it is doubtful he will ever receive a greater clip than that delivered on radio by Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton, who said that while most Demons would be eating oranges at half-time, Morton's preference would be fairy bread. Says it all really.

Sylvia put in for about 10 mins in the last quarter. That was it. ABout his average input.
-
He is a role player and he is getting better at it.
-
Who cares where he was taken. His commitment to the contest is lacking. His decision making is prone to massive lapses. He consistently plays off his player. His second efforts are almost non-existent. Posters point to his supposed elite skills but I just don't see them. I don't get the love for this guy. Give me a Couch/Magner/Jones anyday that will bleed for the team.

So Hird comes out in the media this week to declare the Jetta was stiff and Joel Mac should have been reported for putting his knees into Jetta (just after he threw his head back feigning for a free). What planet is this guy on?? The whole world thought Jetta should have gone and Hird is dobbing in another player?? And what about Dustin Fletcher who kneed Blease who will probably miss this week because of it. I am sick of his holier than though, 'St James' reputation and am only saddened we get to play them once a season. I am soo happy they have lost two in a row. I think we derailed their season last year as well!

It's a big statement but gee he's 29 so will be 32 in final year of contract. Cam Bruce and Junior say hi......
