  1. This thread is unreal. There is zero chance we are interested in Cloke. We don't need him and he wouldn't fit into our line up. And virtually no player should be signed for 5 years. Freo have reportedly offered him $1m a year for 5 years! As if we would be anywhere near that for Cloke. We Need MIDS!!!!!! Give me a Josh Kennedy (Syd) anyday. And Sydney got him for very little.
  2. Good news...
  3. FA is something that any single player could have done by suing the AFL FOR RESTRAINT OF TRADE. THE AFL (oops sorry for the caps) simply bowed to the inevitable and reached a compromise solution with the players union. Not sure you can blame them for FA. As for poaching their position is a disgrace.
  4. When we have a player in the backline who can hit a target. Maybe Strauss can become our Luke Hodge. It is incredibly important to launch attacks from defence. We have been poor at it over the past few years largely because we turn it over so much. Watts is doing the role superbly. We don't actually need him in the fwd line ATM. Martin will come in for CLark as a back up ruckman. With Col and Jared we have more than enough marking power.
  5. It's your perogative to hold that view but its a stupid one. Its a team game, sport. In case you hadn't noticed.
  6. Some info on JV scenario from the HS Adding a further layer of intrigue is the Jack Viney father-son scenario. GWS and Gold Coast have warned they may bid on Viney to force Melbourne to use pick 3 on him, but the Dees are privately scoffing at those suggestions, believing it would be an extremely risky proposition. Recent reports that Viney has already signed a long-term deal with the Demons are incorrect. Viney has signed a memo of understanding with the club, in keeping with AFL rules, but it is not binding. If forced to pay too high a price under the bidding system the Demons can reneg, leaving GWS or Gold Coast with Viney. If GWS or Gold Coast leave Viney alone, he will slip through to the second round as a father-son pick, making it more appealing for the Dees to give up pick 4.
  7. DOesn't get Neeld's game plan? He has played two games this year. I guess that there were 36 or so players who didn't get Neeld's game plan in the first 9 weeks..... Don't forget he is a very late starter to footy....
  8. Not quite true. Junior missed around 6-7 weeks with hamstring injuries in his final year and the concern was he wouldn't be able to see out a whole new year I believe.
  9. Thanks for the comprehension lesson. You asked for a comment and got one. Don't be a goose.
  10. Then open your eyes a bit wider. Has pace to burn something Brock would never be accused of
  11. His story is a terrific example of perseverance and dedication to becoming the best footballer he can be. Has real ticker.
  12. Basic maths would tell you that 6 months takes him through to Xmas. Would be well ready for rd 1. The club are hopeful for training starting in Movember
  13. Well deserved. COngrats
  14. Stef for Clark
  15. You don't drop players who are playing against their old club. Watch the replay again. 25 mins in the last quarter Joel put in four great efforts on the members wing. Was running his guts out. Deserves to stay in.
  16. I'll have what he's having........ Give them our two comp picks plus Morton
  17. It's more a surprise the backline is working without Grimes, Rivers and Garland, our mainstays of the past few years. Tom MacDonald's form has partly allowed thiese moves to happen...
  18. TJ finished in the TOP 10 in our B& F twice - once when he won and another time when he came 3rd. Wasted talent. His best was superb but yet another of ours who couldn't make it to elite because of work ethic (or club culture).
  19. Its not about today. Sheedy had his nose out of joint because we showed him no respect. Every chance he has had he sticks it to us. Whether it be in the media, poaching Tom Scully or nominating Jack Viney (which I am sure he will do). He his a first class scumbag. His 2000 GF effort was a disgrace (as was the AFL's non-response to the violence). I hope like anything we beat them by 100 points today.
  20. Ricky was playing limited game time. They are obviously managing his return. That said he wasn't a stand out as he should be.
  21. Neeld's comments in the paper this morning were instructive. Sam is a very good kick at training and at Casey. He needs to bring that same skill level to the senior team.
  22. A consistent run?? OMG get some facts right. Has played the following games: 2005 16 2006 17 2007 16 2008 18 2009 19 2010 15 2011 19 2012 6 Has played a total of 127 games and is the most frustrating player on our list next to Morton. Should be a superstar but has no second efforts - except when he is running away from a car crash at 5am. Needs a Steve Johnson rocket up his clacker or its career over.
  23. Well Satyricon, he's been un-picked now. Quite right too. Aside from his obvious howler his last quarter with three turnovers was a disgrace.
