  1. Rodan played on jack Steven in the first quarter I believe. nearly won them the game in the first 10 mins!
  2. Good news for the Dees.
  3. Its a lack of understanding about what a CEO of a sponsor wants, Its a commercial decision and they have a choice about where to put their money. If you don't understand the rationale behind sponsorship and the fact that delivering outcomes is critical then you will rarely be able to build solid relationships. The fact that Dee supporters (in Mission Foods, Kaspersky and Hankook) were treated this way when they were 'in our camp' is an indictment on the administration. Volvo is another that was treated poorly through a lack of understanding about what they needed out of the relationship. You can't keep burning these bridges. Coll, Haw and WCE have longstanding relationships because they deliver outcomes for the clients. And its not just about what happens on field. My opinion is that CS never had a commercial background out of football. He 'doesn't get it' in my view. He was involved at footy clubs since his early 20s and hence has no real experience in the outside world. Its a bit like a Govt employee going to work for private enterprise. very often it doesn't work out well.
  4. Sadly its not. Sponsors expect something for their money. We have burned through a lot over the past 6 years because we have not delivered and their treatment has been poor. CS would sit by himself taking notes on the game rather than schmoozing sponsors at a game. Then he would annoy the coaching staff with recommendations about the the game. Thats not what a good CEO does. The Mission foods debacle was terrible. The Energy Watch was a very bad case of judgement - not in hindsight but at the time. Its my understanding we were warned but wanted the cash regardless.
  5. Spencer was actually stationary when McEvoy hit him. Thats the line I would take. Looked ugly (liked most of spencers actions) and if it was Collingwood he would get off. BUt as its Melbourne 3 weeks.
  6. I wrote to 3aw four years ago saying I wouldn't listen to them while DR was on it. Haven't. Life is better.
  7. Played a great game yesterday. Was puzzling last year. Is that a reflection of MN and his confusing gameplan?? several more weeks will tell but he played with a freedom and intuitiveness that was refreshing to see and gave us long suffering supporters some heart.
  8. We have leaked for years. Its pathetic. there are factions galore at our club. I for one hope these sad liniment sniffing hangers on stay away from our club administration and realise the damage they have done to our club. PJ also mad reference to the AFL leaking when he said he didn't tell the afl about MNs sacking inferring Dimwit didn't inform caro and PSmith I like a tight ship.
  9. Build a bridge guys....
  10. Dont you mean "all intensive" purposes
  11. I am sure the Saints are doubled over laughing that Melbourne players will come out a play for Neeld or line in the sand type of line. Come to think if it we might win if the Saints players are on the ground laughing at us....
  12. Big deal. It wasn't a merger in any case, It was a takeover of hawthorn and would have been fantastic for Melbourne. $6m cash, pick of the players, training facilities, support of the AFL etc etc For what?? For losing the Demon name? We have had numerous names through the years so in reality this would have been nothing. Who cares what the media say. We get pilloried constantly for a range of things. The biggest issue for me is crowd support. They constantly refere to our low support numbers or being on welfare from the AFL yet refuse to look at the stadium deals an, TV deals and rigged fixture. The media a moronic imbeciles. What I have found in the last 12 months is the less I read the happier I am.
  13. The players are bit players who come and go. It is our club - the members. Well technically the AFL owns the Ip, colours and name but its certainly not the club administrators or the current players.
  14. If I was a Roos there would be no hurry. Watch the next few weeks and see how the payers respond. Work out whether there is a chance he could rebuild it and move from there. He has no time pressure.
  15. From a financial point of view CHip would be well served to wait until next year. Thats what his manager would be advising.

    No rights

I'll just check my other pocket for $3m so I can tell Dimwit to F*** off
  17. The players are a big cause of the problem, Many have spat the dummy. Many don't try hard enough, many are playing form themselves and not their teamates. More rockets to come for these boys. They don't realise that an AFL career is fleeting. Some like MJones or Magner do because they have had to scrap to get there. But Sylvia? Easy street since he was 12yo.
  18. Craig was hired to mentor and counsel Neeld as well as be the link between the footy dept and the Board Neeld has failed. Doesn't that mean Craig has failed as well??
  19. Ok thanks

    Furious

he is a first class [censored] who left this club in dire straits. Should shut up commenting on this club.
  21. Hearing (second hand) that Jon Anderson on 3AW was speaking this morning about some Melb player tweets that were feeding through. It seemed clear the players are not unhappy. I didn't hear it so can anyone confirm what Ando said or what player tweets have been made about MN??
  22. Beamer wouldn't play the way MN wanted him to. End of story. According to the HS was told to change the midfield set ups because Jamar to BM was too predictable. BM actively went against that with other players. MN had no choice but to cousel him and if he continued to refuse get rid of him BM refused to drop weight and run both ways - zero defesive skills BM should never have played in the 186 game. Again selfish and not a team player. I applaud MN for making the hard call on him but perhaps the manner of it was the issue. The decision for him to go was the right one. Lets move on.
  23. But then we'd lose a priority pick......
  24. Neeld was brought in to harden up the team. Wasn't able to take the players with him though. We have no senior leaders hence the recruiting strategy and the two Jacks as Captains. That bit is not MNs fault. Its the total lack of competitiveness that has been appalling. The lack of leadership has been profound in the last decade save for Neita and Junior. Bruce, Green, White, Yze were not leaders who could be relied on or drive a teams performance when we were getting beaten. I blame Gutnick that we have no senior 27-31yo's with 200 games. The draft picks we lost through his squealing are still hurting us.
  25. At least we have the walk up start. No timetable pressure. Can do a proper search
