It been well known for a long time that there are three main ways to score goals... Clearances Turnovers Kick ins Turnovers are the most prolific and damaging When you look at Melbourne, not only do we not get our hands on the ball but we turn it over at least 50% of the time. Add this to our pathetic intensity and commitment to the contest and no wonder we are useless.

Worst umpiring performance of the year
jnrmac replied to Return to Glory's topic in Melbourne Demons
Where do you find stats like that? -
Joe was in it for Joe. Nothing else. $2.7m (and BTW he promised $3m) was cheap pr for him. He was trying to raise money for diamond mines and other projects. You no doubt were on your knees begging for his money and licking his boots. It cost the club a lot more both short term and long term. Not to mention our lack of 200+ game leaders that are not here because we missed out on top draft picks. He was a disaster for our club. Oh and where is he now?? I reckon he has been to a total of 10 games in his life. You probably liked Geoffrey Edelston as well..

I wouldn't bet on it....

Yeah right, Stay to the end blah blah blah..... If the players don't give a stuff why should we??
-
Spud. Lazy. Will let us down forever. 10th year and what have we got?? Nuthin
-
I really hope that is an attempt at humour. He was a disaster.

This has been ignored for a long time but it is one of the major reasons we have no leadership at the club. We don't have any 200+ game players that are leqding our young brigade. Personally I lay a large chunk of blame on Gutnick for that mess. You forgot the tax audits that Stynes, Lyon Viney Tingay had to endure. Well done Joe.

They were the things he was best at. POinting Geez that used to give me the shiites. Too lazy to pick up a player and not damaging when he was on his own...
-
Fair call. Jolly was given about 8min gametime a week under ND. No wonder he was pizzed off and then pizzed off.

Reamed steamed and dry cleaned.

Scully left for 6 large. Don't kid yourself there were other reasons. McLean left because he was injury prone and slow. Revisionist by him to blame tanking, And stupid if that was his reason to go to Carlton. And hasn't Scully torn it up at GWS?? I mean really. Who has left and gone on to great things other than Scott Thompson??
-
He went on a binge drinking education course and gave up the leadership group. You wouldn't do that if there wasn't a reason.

Ralphius = Neeld??
-
Agree give him another 3 years.. After all it took Jamar 8 before he played a decent one. Still waiting for Sylvia after 10yrs

Get on Ricky Bobby for 11110 tackles and 5 goals....

Just a reminder: Melbourne are bad - R.Connolly
jnrmac replied to Curry & Beer's topic in Melbourne Demons
They are demoralised. BUT they have been there since 2007 and its not all Neeld's fault. They aren't junior footballers they are supposed to be professionals. Bailey did what you are sort of suggesting. Built up their Gen y esteem gave them, games they didn't deserve, told them they were learning and improving each week, - in short tried to protect them from accountability. LJ and Watts are a testament to that. 186 wasn't caused by Neeld. Neither were the 90 point floggings we got under Bailey (although they were interspersed with 60 point wins strangely enough). That didn't get us anywhere. So you cant pin the blame enirely on Neeld. The players effort is shizenhousen. Yes its Neeld's responsibility to get them playing properly. But he can't drop 22 players every week - he has to persevere with some players. I repeat my loyalty is to the club and its colours and history. The players are but passing minstrels in the show. They are killing my club and I am angry with them. How many times have we seen players wheeled out after a horrendous loss saying "we were terrible but we are going to turn it around next week" kind of bulltish statements. So often that they are meaningless. If they were really disappointed they would f***g well do something. No one can seriously tell me that when 14 of our players have a total of 6 tackles (or thereabouts) they are trying. -

You know what? Melbourne bring it on themselves. Pathetic effort week in week out. We deserve it. Someone tell me why we don't?? The players have a lot to answer for here. Their efforts are frankly pizweak. Are they trying to kill the club. How can we not tackle?? How can we not chase?? How can we not hit a target from 20m? How can we not kick in from a point? How do we let a team get 12 clearances in a row?? The players are killing the club. Its time we turned the heat on them. If its true they revolted after 186 its a disgrace. If it is still happening it is even worse. I am not a MN fan but he is not telling the players to play like this He is telling them to pay with abandon - "don't worry about mistakes" "Take the game on" etc etc Are they doing it? No. Why are they not under fire? My loyalty is to the club, its tradition and its colours. Players come and go - very quickly in some circumstances. If this current crop of players destroys that - which they are doing - then it will increase my anger even more. Pull your fingers out of your clacker and try . Try harder. Run, Tackle chase. You dont need elite skills - just commitment. -
crap. Moloney was a one-way player that was asked to change his game and his body shape. Spat the dummy because he was reigning B&F and flat out refused. Incapable of evolving around team needs. Good cheer leader but ultimately not a smart guy. Right move to get rid of him.

Some fans may have given up hope, but players haven't
jnrmac replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sick of hearing about 'line in the sand' 'players need to take responsibility' etc etc Talk is cheap. At no point in the last 6 years have we, when faced with a critical game to redeem ourselves, played with any intensity whatsoever except for maybe the Ess game last year. The players need to take a lot of heat because their efforts are deplorable. Stop talking. Just run run and tackle. -

No disrespect to you WYL but we need more than passionate people. The current Board are passionate. Its the ability to drive outcomes and governance that is the issue and need.
