Yes but he was on griffen for a lot of the night who killed us.... Just sayin.....

Would that be Demon Danielle?
-
Where?? Still $5 third favourite at Tom waterhouse.....

Enjoyed the game but boy we have some midfield problems. Our set up seems all wrong and when Libba and Minson tear it up in the middle yet we can't stop it there are massive issues. Boys tried hard and the one thing that is always missing from Melbourne which I saw last night - players running to their team mates to pat them on the back, offer support, pick them up and generally encourage them is the biggest and most obvious sign that this playing group have turned the corner and are playing for Craig (and maybe their careers). They seemed committed and happy to be out there. That is a huge slap in the face for neeld and to me vindicates the decision to dump him (not that it needed any more vindication)

So Carlton...How's it going wit that million dollar coach? How's that working for ya?? there are no messiahs
-
You are kidding aren't you??? The last time we played Essendon Mark Neeld had a genius idea to televise his pre game speech. In that speech he focused specifically on stopping Watson. Watson had 12 possessions in the first 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest we don't go near him or antagonise him.....

Kruezer Gibbs and Patton have escaped scrutiny as number 1 picks. But he biggest Houdini of all is $cully. He has done nothing and is one of the top 2 paid players in the AFL. Not even a whisper about how ineffective he is and what a waste of a number 1 pick he is. Imagine if he was still at Melbourne. No wonder he left! The treatment of Watts is because he is at Melbourne. We are second class citizens. The rest don't give a stuff about us. The AFL treat us badly in every scenario from Tribunal, to Mifsud, to tanking - you name it. Unless you are a favoured Sun like Hird you get shafted.

I really hate the way the media and the AFL are on the side of Essendon 'its not their fault' 'we feel sorry for the club and its players' 'James is a saint' and the worst 'they have been under scrutiny for 4 months... FFS we were under siege for 12 months. Virtually a day did not go by without some article pillorising Melbourne. From Jurrah, to tanking, Jimma, Mifsud etc etc we copped it left right and centre. No sympathy. Just vitriol that exists to this day. I hope Ess are booted out of the competition. They are smugger than a black rap star. They pushed the envelope, revelled in it and were outed. Their administration practices were shabby, their faith in the twin messiahs of Hird and Thompson (the 'dream team') was roundly misplaced. Their arrogance about how they will get out of this and have nothing to worry about is galling. And it is all because the AFL are so weak and driven by a huge egomaniac in Dimwit. he has had his head in the sand on every major issue of the past 10 years. From drugs to the tribunal to tanking to racism. They treat their favoured sons like rock stars but of you are a Matt Rendell, Dale Lewis or Melbourne you don't count. The AFL are losing supporters every week with their high handed arrogant attitude. They simply don't get it.

And if we were tanking we no doubt would have played like Lazarus in the following years. Oh wait that didn't happen did it.....

The AFL had to bow to the jurisdiction of WADA and ASADA due to Federal Goverment pressure because of (amongst other things) Government funding that is dispensed through the Australian Sports Commission. Had they refused (which they did initially) the AFL would have suffered the wrath of the Federal Government, not only in funding but in a raft of other areas. They didn't really have a choice to go it alone, hence they have to WADA's rules and penalties.

Love your optimism..

My thoughts are not really printable. What a foolish proposition is the kindest thing I can say. Actually read my signature for my real thoughts ...

I'm not sure that's right. They can be changed of course but usually after a detailed process and ballot of members etc etc
-
Well it is actually seeing as you raised it, One concerns a tawdry episode in our clubs history from 1996 - a mere 17 yrs ago. The other concerns an underperforming number 3 draft pick that has all the talent in the world, is in his 10th year at the club, should be a stand out leader on-field but for some reason is flightly and unreliable and who has never finished inside the top 5 in the B&F in that entire 10 year period. So yeah I reckon they're different. And BTW you have never heard me cry.

How's that bridge going guys?? FFS Mods please shut down thread....

Dan Nicholson or McDonald....

Ess revelled in the fact they were using the 'latest' in sports science to get an edge. James Hird said "I take full responsibility for everything that has happened under my watch" They pushed the envelope and they must pay the price. Every athlete in the world using drugs would have their coach take the wrap to get them off the hook. Ess are no different. You simply cannot have a player blame a coach. It doesn't happen in any other world sport,. Why should it happen in the AFL?? Do you think Lance would have blamed the coach if he could? Do you think ben Johnson would have blamed his coach if he could? Do you think the CHinese swimmers and teh East German athletes should get off by blaming their coaches? Can't happen Won't happen.

Given Todd is on a 5yr deal it makes sense to boot TH to save costs..
-
It is actually out of the AFLs hands WADA and ASADA administer their own justice away from the prejudices of the AFL. AFL should of course act now that an admission has been made but just you wait - they will say "we are waiting for the investigation to be complete" They're not waiting for Milne's investigation and court case to be complete are they??
-
You can't pay someone a redundancy if the job exists. Relax. There's now no job for Tim. But in a few weeks you never know - we might need a list manager....

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/i-took-banned-drug-watson-20130624-2ota0.html Here it is. Admitted it on On the Couch. Surely there can be no doubt he will get banned. Its like a swimmer or cyclist saying 'I didn't know what my coach was giving me'. WADA has banned everyone to my knowledge who is in the same position. And the fact he signed a consent form probably makes it worse. And he won't be the only one at Bummerland either......

Spoiling for a fight Stuie? Beemer would not run to pick up an opponent but instead point to a space as if to say to others 'go and pick up that player' or 'go and fill that space'. All the while he was standing by himself doing nothing. Lazy, could only run one way player. The stories have now come out about his 'I know better than the coach" attitude and he not only refused to do what was asked of him but actively went against coaches orders. Can't have that at a club. See ya later Beemer.

What about the 50m against Davey?? A stKilda player got first hands on it, it bounced up and was caught by another StK player who was awarded the mark, Davey tackled as it was clearly no mark and bang 50m. Disgraceful

We haven't lost anything so far as Gys has done nothing....

Riewoldt got booed pretty loudly when he went near the ball. I was surprised how vocal the Dee fans were actually....
