  1. A couple of observations from the game today (from the TV coverage). Bate clearly put his hand up for a recall to the seniors and really wanted it. Nicholson really impressed especially in the 1st half. Spencer pushed off the ball sometimes by much smaller opponents.??? Maybe needs to build up his his leg strength. Blease if he can bring it more often could be a very good asset off half back.Intensity for the full game the key. Petterd a bit too good for VFL although disposal not that great at times.Great mark for his size. Gawn very mobile for his size and far better prospect than Spencer IMO. Blond haired fella up back, cant recall his name(please help me out here). Was it Mcdonald? Good mark.Looks a decent prospect for 2012. Liked the look of Cook and not as skinny as I thought he might be.Looks a real prospect and maybe the power forward we are looking for down the track. Also like his kicking at goal.
  2. Must agree! Frawley is one of the Dees quality players.
  3. No way would I ever have Maric in over Wonna! Wonna provides hard tackling and toughness at the ball and is a far better prospect IMO than Maric. At AFL level Maric is a passenger and looks a bit frightened to me
  4. Maybe that's because we had no-one in our forward line. The forward line was generally empty for most of the 1st quarter!
  5. No way I would replace Wonna with Maric.Wonna is a good tackler and Maric seems frightened.Cook far too skinny!
  6. I have finally conceded! Bailey has to go and it would be better to do it sooner rather than later. I'm now over him and looking ahead to who might take over the reins next.Do you think MFC might put in Todd Viney as a caretaker coach and then start fielding candidates?
  7. I think you're onto something here unfortunately!
  8. No excuse for not showing courage IMO once you have put on the red and blue jumper.
  9. As I posted in another thread I thought Watts looked a little frightened on Sunday (along with maric). He likes to contest marks from behind where he is not going to get the body contact and he skirted around a few contests where he was required to get involved. At 92kg he should be starting to get involved more. He has a great upside skills wise ,however if he doesn't find the courage when he matures a bit then he will never fulfill his potential.I think this season bailey should pick him on form and not potential. Also heard from a reliable source that he has been told to pull his head in by coaching staff re partying.
  10. Watts looks a little frightened to me and not keen to put his body on the line at the moment.Hence he is often attacking the football from behind his opponent. Not great on the 2nd efforts either.Moloney showed him the way a couple of times on Sunday but he did not follow. Also thought Maric wasn't all that keen to get involved physically on Sunday. These may be harsh observations and I would like to hear the view of others ,however that's the way i saw it.
  11. Couldn't give a toss about the Royal Family.Except maybe Brian Royals' family.
  12. Who cares what Mike Sheehan thinks!
  13. Good post! In regards to the Tom Scully issue. My suggestion to supporters is the we "live in the now" and worry about next season when it comes about. Tom Scully is contracted to us this season let's enjoy it!
  14. A definite NO to Travis Cloke for mine.He could get a job as a boundary umpire though as he spends most of his time trying to pick up cheap kicks around the bounday line.Likes to avoid the hard contest and operating where a CHF should operate(in the centre corridor) whenever possible. I would prefer to have a look in the VFL for the next JPOd until Wattsy matures sufficiently.
  15. As mentioned by many before the jumper clash issue is largely only in the mind of the AFL.Football has been going for many ,many years and the jumper clash bulldust has only surfaced in recent times. How many REAL jumper clashes exist where spectators ,umpires or players have trouble telling teams apart. The important point to note is that the AFL is a dictatorship and they have determined that we will wear white during games where they deem there to be a (ficticious) jumper clash.
  16. Have we got him signed up , as I hear a rumour that the Gold Coast were keen?
  17. I could be wrong but I thought this was a football forum? Jump on a political forum if you want to comment on your political bias otherwise these threads will turn inot a sh*%t fight!
  18. What happened to Nic Natanui? The way Bruce McAvaney was banging on about him at the start of the year he sounded like a shoe in for the Brownlow!
  19. This jumper clash stuff is just a bunch of rubbish cooked up by the AFL. The only jumper IMO opinion that has ever even remotely clashed with ours is the Adelaide one with the red up the top. The rest is all make believe. These white jumpers that the AFL force clubs to wear are insipid looking and not even worthy of wearing to training. Teams are more likely to clash colours with the umpires than with other teams!
  20. The Eagles used to trot out quite a few well built kids (at least after one pre season with them)in the 90'S
  21. Agree with all posters that we need a big ,strong accurate goalkicker.Anyone know who is leading the goal kicking in the VFL,SANFL,WAFL,etc? Is there anyone in these leagues that may suit us? Must have some leg speed, not too old and an accurate kick.
  22. Great footage! How Keith Greig won 2 Brownlow Medals and Robbie none defies belief.I could never work that one out. For a player that talked himself into getting a run with our club. Not overly tall, skinny, quick without being the quickest.Should never have played VFL football however his determination and self belief must have been unparalled. Also his courage in the latter part of his career to play on when his shoulder kept popping out about 3 or 4 times a game was amazing. Also a GUN State player!
