If you are a player at an AFL club what grievances could you have with the CEO or Admin Group? I'm trying to get my head around what they are allegedly so uptight about. What would your best guess be? Does anybody know any of the players personally to find out? Is it: Payments The Scully Affair The treatment of senior(older) players Revolt against the Game Plan Who the hell would know?

It would be nice if he gave his good mate Jimmy a 'chop out' though as I believe Jimmy deserves this. Here's hoping!

I agree! It seems a bizarre set of circumstances. I can't believe the players set out to make a statement to the Football Club. If that was the case then they are very misguided which means you have the completely wrong leadership group leading the players. I however cannot not believe this could possibly be the case.No playing group could be that stupid and lacking in character therefore I don't belive it is possible. What seems to be clear is that the players have some issues with the administration. I am totally befuddled at this point in time. What could these insurmountable issues be? Can anybody offer up any ideas????? It is possible there is an interference issue(this is my best attempt at a guess) Interference in what? Maybe they aren't getting paid on time? That would be an issue? Racial problems?? Is there anyone "In the Know" out in Demonland that can shed any light on this as I don't have a clue as to what is going on?

I think the club should move Heaven and Earth to try and get Clarkson. He seems a progressive thinker, is an ex player and has the toughness that is required for our lot. A pretty good fit IMO ,however he will be a tough one to land.

My feeling is that Schwab was never going to be fired. Jimmy specifically head hunted CS and persuaded him to take up the position. He has now been offered an extension on his contract. The club must be very unhappy with him!

For a full forward to kick eight they would likely have to play forward of the centre therin lies the problem.

Bennel IMO is very skilled and his best asset for me is his ability to work his way through traffic without being tackled.He is superior to any in the team at this skill and reminds a little of the ultimate "Indian Rubber Man" himself the great Robbie Flower (before you get too excited I'm not saying he has anywhere near the footballing ability of Robbie as yet). What he lacks I believe is a bit more vigour/courage if you like and he needs to be a lot more involved in the play for longer periods.Also a bit more win at all costs mentality that all great players have in common.He is young though and this may come if it clicks with him mentally and he decides what sort of career he wants to have. I thought his game v Carlton was decent and much better than his previous few weeks where I believe he was gifted a game.He has the ability to be VERY good and it all comes down to how he progresses mentally for me as he has the skills.

Warnock does some good things and is a decent player IMO opinion but his indecisiveness and 2nd guessing his first instinct are what keeps getting him into trouble. On another matter I would like to see Gawn get a run against the Bombers.Martin gave some decent contests against the Blues but is a basketballer trying to play a sport he doesn't seem to understand.Whereas Hampson gave leads around the ground a gave the Blues a decent target to kick to I noticed Martin a couple of times just standing in the middle of the ground not offering much at all.Martin IMO offers a good contest at the ball ups and chases ok but offers very little as a ruckman around the ground. For this weekend I would like to see Martin left at CHF ,Gawn in the ruck with Martin giving Gawn the occasional chop out in the ruck.I know it is a bit of a risk with the inexperienced Gawn however he is a footballer first, understands th game and will one day be our number one ruckman.

Agree! Over possessing the football on a night of slippery conditions is a formula for disaster! In regards to "beating the press" 1. Keep some forwards in the forward line.2.Move the ball quickly to a couple of your best kicking options around the half back area. 3.Kick the ball over the press and back your forward to beat his opponent. Bailey seems to be a very stubborn coach and I personally believe his days are numbered as MFC coach.I belive he has done a good job in developing the group but is not a great match day coach.I'm nor sure what influence the assistant coaches have but they must also shoulder some of the blame. I would hate to be a forward playing for MFC at the moment!

Agree on Gawn! Give him a chance and see how he goes.

Mike Sheehan in the H/Sun wrote another useless article re the "Kruezer Cup" and suggesting that people should take a stick to the MFC because they were underachieving compared to Carlton.What a ridiculous comparison! Vey lazy journalism. Carlton is at least 2 or 3 season ahead in development of the Dees with the plethora of early draft picks that had in the seasons prior to when we picked up Watts,Scully and Trengove and in fact had Gibbs,Murphy,Betts and other early draft picks playing in the "Kruezer Cup". The other useless pice of journalism they threw up was the fact Melbourne had no tackles in the forward 50 in the 1st quarter v's the WCE. Can someone please explain to me how you can tackle in your forward 50 if you have no players in there??? It's probably a little difficult.

Totally agree! I would like to see some forwards in the forward line! If the opposition run the press we work the ball as quick as possible to one of our longest kicks around the half back flank area and kick over the press to one of our forwards (Please pass this on to Dean Bailey)
