  1. The elbow is where the leather patch on the tweed jacket goes. Right? Somewhere south of the cravat?
  2. It will be interesting to see when Peter Jackson starts ringing in the administrative changes. I'm sure he is still occupied with information gathering at the moment but I'm guessing these changes will be not too far away!
  3. I would prefer to see Jimmy take his bounces around the Southern Stand wing. We play the members side of the ground far too often.
  4. Col can seriously play and I hope we sign him asap! He is one of the most courageous players in the team and with a bit more focus could be a fantastic leader. In fact he already leads on the field. However, frustration often gets the better of him. I would hate to see him move on!
  5. When do you think Jackson will start ringing in the changes? I don't think we will have to wait too long Maybe a couple more weeks at the most?
  6. I don't believe our list is that bad. They are just coached by someone whose methods they don't understand therefore they are unable to respond!
  7. I think we will have a crack but will get over run in the end and go down by 35 pts. neeld will go on to coach next week.
  8. Maybe we are a side that cannot afford to bottom out anymore and maybe we should consider operating the way Sydney does which is a side that never afford to bottom out in their market. This would take some very astute recruiting in getting the right combination of youth and experience. It would mean recruiting more mature age and recycled players, but also getting the right ones. Not the Rodan, Byrnes, Gillies,Sellar types etc. What do you think? This could be a succesful path to take for us and Sydney proved you can win premierships with this method. It is also healthier for membership sales. Just a thought!
  9. That being the case and let say Neeld sees out this season and is still here at the start of next season. Let's also say that things don't improve a whole heap. What membership numbers would you expect to see next season?
  10. I I should have read further down the page. Great minds......
  11. If only Miles Davis was still alive today! You wouldn't care about the scoreline, just keep him playing!
  12. if that is the case there will be no spectators at the games. No demons fans and the opposition supporters would hardly be interested in turning up to watch the ensuing slaughter!! Let's face it, even the seagulls wouldn't bother fronting!
  13. The cost of doing nothing in the long run would probably far outweigh the scenario you have detailed in your post! (imo)
  14. Or get in FIRST for the footy!
  15. We ahd already picked up a 'hard nut' in and under midfileder from the same draft in Viney. Therefore, I can understand the recruiters thinking in recuiting a classy outside midfielder with this pick. Just because Toumpas is unlikely to win the Brownlow this year , doesn't mean he won't prove to be a quality draft selection.
  16. I think Jackson will be mindful of our impending debt for this season. He will probably have a look at staff contracts and see who we don't really need and if we can move them on at limited cost. Then those that are too costly to move on at this present time (and also those he considers bringing some value) he will probably rejig their duty statements to provide a more efficient outcome. IMO we seem to be greatly over staffed in the coaching department at the moment for what is a relatively simple game! I do think cost cutting will be on the agenda though.
  17. While I want to se the 'tackle count' increase dramatically from the game against the Golide a far more important stat (imo) is the 'hard ball get' stat. It means we are getting in first for the ball and not dwelling on an opposition player just so we can get the tackle count up. 'First In' has the chance to break the tackle or get a free.
  18. What's with only playing down the members wing also? Is there some magic scoring advantage to be gained from this?
  19. That's That's funny!! A team called Melbourne playing out of Tasmania. I think Melbourne will continue playing out of Melbourne. Just a thought mind you.
  20. Dennis Pagan was not popular with the players incl. Wayne Carey and especially Corey McKernan. One of the main reasons for the success of the NMFC at the time was that the playing group was very self motivated and held each other accountable to train and play at a high level.(Source Corey McKernan and Wayne Carey)
  21. One thing that shouldn't be over looked is that Dunn has a very good motor.
