  1. Would be very dissapointed if we used pick 18 for Luke Ball and I can't see it happening really. My hope is we pick up someone like Black,Carlisle,Griffiths,Talia,Vardy or other such talented youngsters that can be part of a bright future with the MFC.
  2. I heard that also and I think the info came from Cameron Schwab. There are many untruths and ill informed perceptions floated around about the MFC without any research behind it. Journo's often come up with a bunch of stuff that , if it is repeated often enough , somehow miraculously becomes "Fact".
  3. Ok , why are we bothering to get involved in dialogue with a Collingwood supporter on here? Why do we have Collingwood supporters on here?
  4. Why are we bothering to talk about Collingwood on here?
  5. I'd be getting Strauss to help him out with his long distance kicking when we get him down to the MFC.
  6. If "Magic Door" turns out a half decent player and we get him with a late pick or rookie pick it could be a very good result for the MFC and the sponsors as he is likely to generate a bit of publicity for himself and the club.
  7. Good Man! Courage and determination personified.
  8. Will you be right for Round 1 v's Hawthorn?
  9. We will.Try Scully and Trengove for starters!
  10. We may or may not get Luke Ball? But we WILL get Scully and Trengove!
  11. I know youtube highlights aren't a lot to go on but I thought Jack Carlisle could fit these requirements and he seems to be able to take a decent contested mark ! Reads the play pretty well too. What do others that are a bit better informed think ? Could be a good pick up at 18 if he lasts to that pick? I thought he looked a bit better than Talia who seemed to play a bit more of a link man role out on his own a fair bit.
  12. Would be very happy if your predictions pan out Swampy! Would be happy with Carlisle at pick 18.He looks like he can take a decent contested mark and reads the play pretty well.
  13. I think Morton might be given a go up forward from time to time next season.Wouldn't mind seeing him alternating with Watts while Watts is settling into his role.
  14. I agree with a lot of other posters on the topic of Luke Ball.If he nominates for the National Draft then he doesn't want to come to the MFC. If the MFC is not his preferred destination then we don't want him.All will be revealed before too long.
  15. Pick 11 is a pretty early pick really. You would reasonably expect to get a pretty decent KPP at pick 11.
  16. Spencer looked like a "Giant Tarantula" running round the MCG!.Has definitely got cult figure written all over him. As to his footballing abilities,I thought he improved his tap ruck work quite a bit.Went to ground too easily for a big man for mine and his kicking still has a way to go.Is very, very green but will end up a very big unit. The big questions I have are over his running ability and aerobic capacity. Digressing a little: Why do players handball to ruckman? Surely ruckman are there to receive handballs from not dish off to! It takes them far too long to make a decision and for the actual ball to reach their foot.Do other supporters get frustrated by this? At least with some classy midfielders joing the club via the draft this practice is likely to stop.
  17. Great work Jaded! Let us know what you hear back from the club! I especially think the Grey hoodies would sell well. Some pretty talented people belong to this club and your one of them.
  18. It would have been weird if Davey left during Trade Week and then took out the MFC Best and Fairest.
  19. Hopefully a lot less Sunday matches!
  20. As far as Miller goes IMO he has(as I've posted before)good leg speed, strong attack on the football, good work ethic, trains hard by all reports, tackles well, good motor, decent mark and is a good team man.I have no doubt he would be a good role model for the young players coming up with those qualities including and especially Jack Watts. It was nowhere stated he is, or will ever be the complete footballer but I believe he brings a fair bit to the MFC. It is of little importance to the whole scheme of things what I or "Brockstar" or anyone else think of Miller. The people that count (The MFC football dept) believe he brings something to the team.
  21. If the author of this article cared about writing an informed article you think they would have contacted someone from the football department and asked them why they were starting this early.Pretty simple really!
  22. IMO Miller offers the following qualities to the MFC -Strong leadership, toughness, leads well, marks well, tackles hard, encourages team mates, flies the flag for the Red and Blue,is quick over the ground and has an exceptionally good looking wife. Unfortunately his kicking for goal lets him down ,but he is 90% to the good for me.Again , I believe he is far superior to Buckley and Valenti.Thankfully those that are in a position to recognise his attributes better than anyone (being the MFC coaching staff) are keeping him on.Hopefully they can improve his kicking for goal in 2010.
  23. Miller is a far superior player to Buckley and Valenti!
  24. A couple of days would be plenty. Clubs can have their meetings, make their phone calls,do their bluffing and posturing outside of the official trading days. They could have many of the deals stitched up before entering this period IMO.
