I really struggle to put the current situation into words. One one hand, if Melbourne had its supporters at heart, it would fold and give us shattered fans a chance to get a life without footy. On the other hand, if Melbourne folded I would be more shattered. Every time I saw a footy report on the news, listened to a conversation about footy, caught a snatch of talk back, had someone offer sympathy, or just had a passing memory would be like a knife in the guts. The current fiasco may well be draining my interest in footy, but while there's life there's hope.
