Maia Westrupp sounds like a Euro supermodel.

Ling has said nothing in his commentary that would lead me to conclude he is a footy brain. And he has had no coaching experience. Why in God's name would we rush to appoint him coach-in-waiting?!?

Was quietly sobbing watching the Swans hit targets.

If we recruit Riewold I will make a promise to do something stupid. He is a flat track bully. Mind you, if he fell into our laps for next to nothing I would have him. But that's not going to happen.

Cross is a huge loss at the moment. Well worth another year.

Coincidentally, "arrogence" rhymes with "no defence". We lost by 186, we have to wear it. I wish Melbourne could be arrogent. Arrogant too.

To paraphrase: the article was posted at TEN.55, and games against Melbourne "of-TEN resembled a training drill." This comment was brought to you by Miss Quote, and the number TEN.

Been a bad week for Harrises.

We did not get one last year because the AFL allowed club lobbying to influence their decision making process.

Hope he's better than Shuey. FTB.

The Spinmeister's Handbook Rule Number 1: "Say nothing." Rule Number 2: "Say something which means nothing." Rule Number 3: "Opposite speak." Rule Number 4: "We did it? They did it too." -

It is only a matter of time until Paul Little or Hird calls for Essendon to be reinstated into the 2013 finals. -

Doublethink lets them off the hook. It is less "doublethink" and more "doubletalk". The usual voices covering the backsides at EFC, AFL and ASADA (I haven't heard much from Dank and Alavi) know what they are saying. I wonder if it Demetriou realises that he leaves behind an organisation whose every public utterance is assumed to be a lie. -

Just heard another classic example of Opposite Speak. Ian Prendergast, head of the AFL players association, said that reducing the Free Agency time from 8 to 6 years "would be good for the weak clubs." Nor did he offer any evidence to support his claim. -

It never ceases to amaze how publicity people attack problems from the opposite direction. When the state government wanted to introduce smart meters they boasted that the meters would enable consumers to tailor their consumption so as to reduce their bills. The reality is the opposite. The meters were not introduced to enable customers to reduce their bills, they were introduced to enable power companies to increase their bills. If you want something, say the opposite. It is no surprise that the AFL, governments and business all dip into the same pool of publicity spinners, flacks and hacks. -

Official - We woz robbed against bullies

We've historically been slaughtered against the Bulldogs. We must have walked under their black cat, because the breaks and the umpiring is invariably in their favour. We've been o the wrong end of many howlers. -
The sixth best mark of all time, and yet Winny Abraham won mark of the year.

Wiz should never have returned to WA in 2002. Mad work by his management.

What's this creative fiction about Melbourne being expected to win round three 2008 at Geelong? We were expected to lose by 100 points again, after being beaten by 100 points in round one (Hawthorn) and nearly 100 points in round two (Bulldogs)? There was even talk that we had played okay after only losing to Geelong by 30-odd points. Weird.

Roy Cazaly?!? Ohh. Roy crazy.

I can't remember Dawes being outmarked yesterday, but too often he missed the mark and the ball fell to the Dogs' advantage. Mind you, he gets dreadful service from the ball carriers, and he often had to beat more than one opponent. Hopefully, if we carry the ball better and organise a smoother transition, Dawes will 1) have help, 2) be one of two or three options, and 3) get better service.

Since Melbourne did not get a priority pick in 2013, the AFL may as well get rid of them. No team will ever be as bad as we were last year; no team will deserve a PP more.
