  1. There are some alluring bets on offer. i took Demons 11.5+ at 6.50 and a punt on the draw at 61 (quite high for a wet game that I think will be close)
  2. Watts plays without any dash. Dawes is always trying, bustling and is a focal point. No one looks for Jack Watts and they havent for 7 years. The team would miss Dawes much more than Jack Watts and the apologists for Watts always come out with stats that dont stand up. I dont expect him to be dropped and I dont expect him to change in his outlook or his game. I dont blame him as he is continually encouraged and never dropped. His acts and Tex's go at him which he totally ignored and walked away from turned the game significantly in my opinion.
  3. Gawn protects his ribs by not stretching out too. Im going to be bitterly disappointed if Watts isnt withdrawn from the final team.
  4. Start with David Grace Q.C. (sic) defender of the EFC players and creator of their defence. Funny that he has another hat.... http://www.smh.com.au/sport/athletics/aa-president-david-grace-says-hes-the-man-for-the-job-20150323-1m5w17.html
  5. Once Tomlinson went off, I thought jamar would beat the big mummy. Not to be. With your best midfielder having a rare off day, we needed to win some clearances. Jamar looks like Tarzan.
  6. Sorry I didnt notice your question, BBO. Ive now got wire to wire - in front at each break, and I also took the 1-39 range as well. I see us not letting them overtake us in a hard fought last quarter. But best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry..
  7. Jamar was great last weekend, but my fear is Frost isnt big and mean enough to go against Mummy. Mumford always plays well against us. Spencer gets around to every contest and battles hard. There is no other attribute other than that. But Dawes and Gawn for all their other claims cant do it. I wouldnt pick Spencil just on that alone, but Jamar Vs Mumford is an interesting contest. I wish I could stop reading this thread!
  8. Anyone know if there are known injuries at GWS for this weeks game? It would help to know if they are going to be bringing in another tall.
  9. I think its odds on that Jack Grimes will play. I have no evidence at all except exasperation on how the club (used to) run things. Hope I'm wrong about a last minute call up, because I will not believe it was an accident. I feel guilty for thinking this BTW.
  10. From the players media release and Hirds apology of sorts, I see: They know they took PEDs, They know we (the football public) know, They know we know that they know. I take comfortable satisfaction in that.
  11. No wonder McDevitt isnt keen to appeal. It would probably be to Dougie Hawkins and Shane Crawford on the bench.
  12. If ASADA or WADA appeal, to which court gets the hearing? Is it the Court of Arbitration for sport? Or is it the Victorian Court of Appeal? Or is it just a few more tribunal members of the AFL? Its probably been stated but I cant find it, thanks.
  13. This is a dirty business. It is clear we have Liars (pronounced Lawyers) cheats and it seems bribery running the show to rort the system. Moose Henwood is being held up as prince of the courts when he probably wouldnt have stepped into the county court before. Then there are those with their snouts in the trough. It irks me that the legal fraternity now see "fashioning a defense" instead of getting to the truth of the matter as a normal way to apply their trade.
  14. This is good for football. ..isnt it?
  15. Media outlets are portraying Lloyd, Thompson and Watson as outsiders giving considered balanced views. Its not professional and poor form.
  16. Any change must be simple for juniors and the umpire (Juniors themselves) to govern. Ive had the same idea for a couple of years now. Make 2 changes. 1)Every ball up at start of quarter or after a goal, all players except 4 on each team in the center, all others behind the 50 meter line. This gets rid of the center square which (I believe) is now redundant as players will still get to the contest fast or spread. 2) Every Ball up or Ball in around the ground, the umpire(s) check some one is in the 50 meter arc for each team. If not a free kick is given. This will be easy to check especially when the square is removed.
  17. Kicking excellently off either foot is pretty uncommon but an admired asset. Being able to kick off one step cleanly on one foot within tight margins is more important. Too many use their off foot and take too long, kicking high and slow. They think they are impressing coaches but they arent. Just get on the good foot. Especially if its a goofy foot.
