Christian Petracca - Season Ending Knee Injury
Damo replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Id add Warren Dean too. Was played out of position on bigger heavier opponents and was injured early. Came same year as Stretch IIRC and I thought he would be even better. But because he was taller he was played at CHB. Didnt last long. -
If Dunn is kicking out from full back I hope he is encouraged to go long, as he is a great long kick. I know it telegraphs our intention for him to go long all the time but to me, thats less dangerous than going 15 metres to the boundary line.

It will be a pity if TDI ceases to post. He has been willing, honest and light hearted in his reports. He has been balanced in his support yet concedes he believes OUR TEAM will win only 6-7 wins. Its a pity we lose his reports and I hope he comes back, guns a blazin'. The lunatics have taken over the asylum.

I cant help but feel sorry for Col's inability to knuckle down. My demons supporting cousin coached him under age up on the Murray He said he had never seen a more rounded match winner. Speed, power, light years above others. Made it sound like Gary Ablett senior at Myrtleford. He has disappointed many people.

I remember when Bluey Hampshire leant out of the coaches box window in 1982 and bellowed instructions to the Doggies against us in a last quarter. Almost all bulldog players could hear him. I was on the steps and although funny, he was fearsome.

I see jamar as too slow and unable to contest against young jumpers in the centre. His spider crouch strength is good around the grounds though. Niki nat may actually jump over him in the middle. Injured after 8 games normally. Gawns good in the centre square but his instinct to protect himself going for marks around the ground comes into play after halftime and he goes up one handed. I believe his knees are only good for 8 games as well. Spencer is awkward but enormously strong at the contest. Yet every year they are all training the house down. I would persevere with Spence but I hope Max proves me wrong.

Is it possible to calculate the costs of the courts and lawyers involved so far?

Factotum is my favorite with Matt Dillon and Marisa Tomei. But I liked Tales of ... too. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417658/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_17 New movie called Bukowski coming out this year.

Thanks for the reports Saty. Noli Illigitimi non carborundum. (Dont let the bastards grind you down)

Go to Elsternwick Park. When possible (once a month?) have a training session at 4:30 on a Wed/Thu or Fri. Have an announcer, sell cans of beer and sausages in bread.

I keep hearing how HL is just what we want. If Hogan is injured we will have a gaping hole at full forward. If Clark plays well, it will be hugely disappointing.

Who is shaping as a surprise packet for Melbourne in 2015?
Damo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Watts is the surprise it will mean we are covering the ground better and delivering the ball cleanly. He would shine if that happens and we have Forwards breaking forward and back to create space for him to deliver. If Fitzy is the surprise it means we have many doing their job and Dawes and Hoges are playing well. He is then in the team on merit (not the Pea) and its possible in that case he could surprise with a few goals. -
Talking Point: Improvement - how far can we go in 2015?
Damo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
GC and GWS are now seeing their crop of players move in their 20's. If we can keep up with GWS we are doing OK. Gold coast I see as being in the Adelaide(Sloane soon to re-sign) and Carlton (more seasoned) rush for 10/11 games and 8th spot. I see us in a similar position to WB, we are each pinning our forward hope to untried young gun. They have Crameri and we have Dawes as backup. We have better flankers both forward and back but its just my view. They win in the middle with Minson Boyd, Wallis, Libber and Dalhous. If I thought Jamar would play over 15 games it would bolster my hopes. While Jamar is good at ball ups around the ground he is going to be jumped all over in the centre. I reckon Gawn is frail too so I hope Spencer gets a good run as he more aggressive in play then Jamar or Gawn. Does another team have worse ruck stocks? I see Essendon cracking, I see Richmond leaderless. We should beat St Kilda surely... 7 wins 13th-15th spot. -

Again as soon as a balanced discussion is offered, drongos chime in with "anything less than" ultimatums that make any criticisms just a fan to flames. Its no wonder many Demonland members just look on and cant be stuffed offering less than perfect scenarios. -
Caulfield, Bentley, Prahran and south Yarra are all very accessible to Elsternwick Park. In my mind it is our heartland. Its close to both Trams Trains and right next to Nepean Highway. It perfect to me although I do admit to living at the back of it... The Saints have dilly dallied with Moorabbin, Frankston and the Junction. It seems strange that they would like our idea better. Please please me, demons and I promise to attend training and report forthwith. Although my reports will be dotted with "Trenners just shot past Jamar on his tricycle", "Jamar looks concerned, will be out for 8 weeks with a serious frown", "Garland suddenly looked interested at training today and was told to take it easy" and "Gawn hurt himself by going up for a mark one-handed again with his north and south wide open, and ball lodged in his gullet, sent to Switzerland for scans".

I have no affiliation with Gutnick but this view is mis-worded or just wrong. Either way it gets up my frock. If Joe had not thrown $3 million into the ring we would not exist. He didnt cheat or make the wrong decisions. He hired the executives he was advised to and they seemed to be competant. Nobody then knew how how badly they phoned in their work. Dont forget a few here who still pot Joe were behind Szondy. Money talks and BS it seems stinks forever. /end rant

Moose Henwood is unfortunately one of the judges in this matter. We've seen him before when he found Jack Viney guilty (which was dismissed on appeal). I dont think either side would consider him to advocate their cause. But he is an AFL tribunal member and in this case is sitting in judgement. So anything is possible.
-
There is daylight between county court judges and a twit that managed to pass the bar but has hardly ever been briefed. Even being on the AFL tribunal is out of his league. I wonder if he has ever been inside the County let alone the Supreme court before.
-
I wouldnt be keen on this if I was the Saints. They upgrade the Bar and the stand (blackie Ironmonger) yet the saints dont even get to train on it. They are over the road near St Kilda Primary. Pinch the playground and relocate it? where? Seaford? Id argue the saints would get more to a Thursday afternoon training than the biggest VCA match of the year. Unfortunately my dislike of Cricket shines through

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Damo replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would guess this has been addressed (I only tap into this thread occasionally) but having Fletcher and Watson represent Australia would certainly spark interest from international media. Playing banned atheletes would be the main topic when reporters quiz coaches and captain regarding the tour. -
People quickly forget the vows they make when watching multiple10 goal defeats in the middle of winter. I thought we were going to be ruthless.
