  1. Essendon have said they dont have records. Dank has said he has complete records but will not release them to the AFL but will to a court of Law. This now is a court of law, right? Why is this not transparent? How can Little say "No-one knows"? Has Dank already shown ASADA but it is kept quiet? Is this merely a Pi$$ poor defense implying "burn the records then we can say Dank was experimenting on us"? Or is there more to it... Im not being ingeniousness, I really dont know. Also is it possible Jobe has started 6 months of penalty without anyone knowing? or is this merely a conspiracy theory? Thanks in advance.
  2. One of the highlights was watching the team song and there was NO-ONE in the middle. Been a while since I can remember seeing that. Sorry if it has already been noted.
  3. Junction Oval would be my choice if we had our own reserve team. Get it before Saints get organised. I dont think Cricket Victoria would view them any more favorably than us.
  4. I dont think it is bad for the MFC or its supporters. Look at Caro's latest article. It was only a year ago when we were under the burning spotlight. Demonlanders thought she had it in for us. It was a year ago when we were the laughing stock of Essendon supporters especially one Rohan Connolly. He was giggling at how bad we continued to be. I took it all hard. Im happy for EFC to suffer long and draw it out, I dont have an ounce of sympathy and dont believe it will be bad for the AFL at all.
  5. To run flat out at high speed and be able to kick long low and hard, is rare. Dont see it much. For a whole team to be suddenly able to do it after a pre-season was suspicious. It stuck out like the proverbial. Im happy to believe the players, the doctors, the management and the coaches were all thinking the same thought. "How goods this!".
  6. But what about the poor players? Oh, the Humanity!
  7. I think North would be prepared to pay way over the odds for Brayshaw. If we happen to be in position to exploit that, why wouldnt we? As mdemonski2 says my thoughts drifted to Jake Ziebell, too. As a 23yr old he would certainly be a great get as Crossy sunsets. But other than him, I dont know what they have that they would be prepared to trade, or that we would take.
  8. I wonder if we could deal with North for a player and their #13 pick so they could get Brayshaw?
  9. Sammy should be concentrating on avoiding the North - Footscray merger. I reckon it might raise its head soon if they both dont win finals. Not that we are safe:) If they did combine they would still have less combined members than Hawthorn, but they MAYBE could play boutique (<50,000) out of the Western oval. Im sure they both would see merit to be able to get away from the clutches of Etihad and little chance of premierships.
  10. "Its the emblem of the Town we love" would be my only concession
  11. Just because the umpires were consistent in not paying frees doesnt mean they did a good job. The wireless says only 14 frees were paid all night. I dont really care that Carlton were ripped off and my dislike for the Scott twins is double my distaste of Malthouse, the umpiring this year has gone quickly to ratsh1t. Wayne Campbell is struggling. I thought Malthouse was right in particular to bring up the Nigel Lappin incident, trainers should be nailed much more for interfering, and if I ran the world they would only be allowed on after goals are registered and need to be off before the bounce.
  12. Yes he is a Bannerman! All things being equal he should be currently in Sheahans top 50.
  13. Was it his decision?
  14. I have been guilty of having a go at Grimes earlier this season. I had no rose coloured glasses. But now Im so rapt that others have stepped up all around him, I just hope he stays uninjured and things go right for him. I accept he is possibly going through a tough time and am happy to wait. Smell the roses.
  15. Good Luck Alistair. Has set the standard for coaching in the last few years. Just went by Alan Jeans as Hawks 2nd longest coach too.
  16. I watched Gary Ablett Snr a lot. Ive never seen anybody see a kick and head down charge to where it would land. He did it every game.
  17. Anyone throwing Rory Sloanes name into the ring can forget it. Why would he come back when his parents just moved from Upwey to Glenelg?
  18. I agree (belatedly) with the master. Its hard being Jack as he suffers from nerves. In the 1st 3 qtrs if he took a mark he would go back and take his kick. Itseemed he was wary of playing on, into the arms and face of a player on his arse. Last quarter he did what the team does and play on unconditionally and it lifted me and my mates(who had agreed with my comment). It seemed to be a team lifter too.

My hands up. I waited to see light this year. All good now.
  20. I believe Grimes is a better kick when doesnt deliberate. When he tries to finesse a kick, he drops the ball too late almost laying onto his boot, and loses depth and power, making it float and loses accuracy. He seems to have a better drop when he just bangs it onto the foot. If Im right it may be cleaned up easily. I also think Jack Watts is so much better when he plays on. In the 1st half on Suturday when he took a mark, he didnt play on as if he was worried someone was coming the other way. It slowed us down. I think a couple of Tiger players noticed. After 3 quarter time he came out, grabbed it and played on and was on fire. I may be wrong but all 3 of us sitting together noticed it.
  21. Luke Ball averaged 98% in HSC. So did Stephan Martin IIRC. It seems Luke Ball to me, if I had to guess.
  22. Im a demons supporter in a bombers family (not one member). Id be sorry for my dear old mum, but Im rewatching Fred Astaire movies. Oh Im putting on my Top Hat, Buttoning my White Tie, Putting on my Tails. Let the tap dancing begin.
  23. As my young colleague likse to say "this shits gunna get real".
  24. We need to kick lower and harder. The Bulldogs did. It looked in the 1st half like we didnt want to make it to difficult to mark. Plenty of balls were easily cut off by slow ball movement. It seemed to stop after half time. Watts IS slow. It seemed he often wanted to celebrate some-ones goal and Frawley or Dawes would tell him to settle and keep concentrating. When he does concentrate he is not tentative.
