  1. Watch it daisycutter. I know jui jitsu, karate, judo, tae kwon do and several more words from other countries.
  2. Are you calling our players meatheads? Come here and say that!
  3. No apology required, but I reckon I've heard nearly every club except ours called that at some stage. Again, it wasn't personal. I just see it as another symptom of "The AFL hates us" self-pitying defeatism and negativity that has pervaded this forum for a long time. Some call it MFCSS. ?
  4. Not attacking you personally here Jaded, but that phrase and "bathwater" are surely the two most overused and abused terms that keep popping up on this forum ad nauseam.
  5. Anyone who thinks that Trigon honestly reckons we should drop Gawn has missed the joke.
  6. Sorry Craig, you'll have to help me out here mate. I've tried and failed to work out what that stands for. edit: Petracca, Oliver, Gawn?
  7. Just as a QB aside, we won't need to worry about Jeremy Howe who will miss most of the rest of the season after requiring surgery to repair damage caused when he aggravated scar tissue on his hamstring at training on Saturday.
  8. I'm a bit surprised that Luke Parker didn't get a vote. He seemed to bob up with annoying frequency, particularly around those much discussed centre clearances. edit: I just checked his stats to see if it was just my imagination, and he had 32 disposals, 4 marks, 5 tackles and 7 clearances. That's a good day's work by any standard.
  9. Somebody that knows how to spell Goulburn perhaps?
  10. A story in The Age promoting Neale Daniher's Big Freeze features Jack Viney who says he expects to be "cherry ripe" for the Queens Birthday day game in round 13. This has been a very long 2-3 week injury. Hope he's fully recovered.
  11. You're not really helping your argument by citing people who lived hundreds of years ago and believed in all sorts of whacky nonsense that has since been debunked for the unadulterated tosh it always was. You do know that Shakespeare wrote fiction, Craig?
  12. It's important that the socks are clean. We don't want to be associated with dirty hose.
  13. Curses are superstitious nonsense and the domain of the feeble minded.
  14. I don't think you'd need a match ratio if there was an even number of teams (12 in this case).
  15. Demonology had a couple of passionate and erudite female posters called Judee and Allicat, neither of whom I have seen posting anywhere for ages, sadly. Allicat is, I believe, the daughter of legendary Melbourne runner, trainer and later water carrier the late and great Sam Allica who is a life member of the MFC and was later inducted into our Hall of Fame. Sam is renowned for being suspended for eight games in 1974 for abusing a boundary umpire! Hope both ladies are enjoying our season and would be rapt if they resumed posting about the mighty Demons.
  16. What I like is that we're not depending on the same few players each week and, let's face it, they can't all be best on ground every game. Last week it was Fritsch driving the bus. Tonight he was very quiet but TMac and Brown stepped up. We've won some games fairly easily, some by a smaller margin and tonight held out for a very tight win. In every game, we've been challenged at some stage and have fallen goals behind before prevailing. These are things that good teams do. My only disappointment is that we lost the last quarter (by a single measly point)for the first time this season. Go Demons and let's give those horrible Blues a belting next week.
  17. Don't worry, it'll be 27 degrees at the MCG tonight as well. Fahrenheit, that is.
  18. Bookies' odds shorten or lengthen depending on the amount of money being bet. If we're so short, it means that the majority of punters' money has been for Melbourne. Let's hope they are all good judges!
  19. You think you had it tough, mate. My mother left home before my siblings and I were even born.
  20. Do I remember properly RGRS that you actually met Dr. Poo while doing volunteer work manning the phones for the membership department of the club? I seem to recall a photo posted on 'Ology with you both in it.
  21. I see the AFL have put the work experience kid in charge of choosing the umpires' uniforms again. Richmond are playing and the umpires are wearing yellow and black. Genius!
