  1. I don't think Carlton have, either.
  2. Top of the board, bloated bulb.
  3. *bump* for the swollen shallot.
  4. Port Adelaide can't be too optimistic about crowd numbers on Thursday night. They're offering two tickets for the price of one in an effort to entice fans to attend.
  5. Marty Fields has this outstanding take on Carlton's chances this year: "Carlton are 13-1 for the premiership. Which means if you put $50 on, you will lose $50."
  6. He certainly would and I hope he does.
  7. David, you said that Bowey would set a record if he won. It can't be a record if it's been done twice before. And for YOUR information I cited Buckley and Scott in my post.
  8. Only one. The moustache.
  9. Footy fans over-estimate the impact of the "short" six day break between games. I've heard players say that it really doesn't make a lot of difference compared to seven days given their high levels of fitness and the expertise these days in recovery practices. Lever if fit and Brown if available to come in and no unforced "resting" for mine.
  10. That feat has already been achieved twice, David. Nathan Buckley at Brisbane in 1993 and Chris Scott the year after. Justin Koschitzke at St Kilda in 2001 followed by Nick Riewoldt in 2002. By the way mate, are you still in Ohio or have you made your way back to Oz?
  11. If the AFL were to send us down there (not gonna happen) we could be the Van Demons.
  12. I'm not sure what the cut-off point is where you are deemed to be no longer standing the mark.
  13. It's a deliberate tactic. By moving that far away, they are not subject to the "Stand" rule. Of course, it allows their opponent a clear 5 - 10 metre run forward. The Dogs coaching team must think it is worth it. I'm not so convinced.
  14. My English teacher once accused me of plagiarism. Her words, not mine.
  15. Shouldn't that read couldn't care less?
  16. That's perfectly fine tu and each of us makes that decision. I'm not trying to tell people to mute the commentary if they would prefer to listen to it. The point of my post is that if you choose to listen to the commentary knowing full well in advance what it is going to be like, then don't clog up threads complaining about it. You know what you're going to get.
  17. Bundle him up in a package deal with Luke Jackson, which should get us something decent in return.
  18. Conversely, we never seem to hear of osteitis pubis any more, whereas it was rife a few years back.
  19. Could somebody send me a PM when something actually happens with Jackson's contract? Not interested in uninformed opinions, guesses, speculation, bed-wetting or shadow-jumping.
  20. I couldn't agree more.
  21. That's fair enough, binny. Then again, you're not one of those who complains about the commentators.
  22. It happens every week in the gameday thread, Froggy. It's like buying your lunch from a shop that you know sells terrible food then complaining that your lunch is terrible.
  23. We all know that Brereton/Dwayne/Healy/BT and the rest are terrible commentators. No arguments there. Why then do highly intelligent people (ie. Demon fans) make a conscious decision to listen to them when they have the option of pressing the mute button? Further, what do people who choose to listen to these clowns think is being achieved by clogging up threads with their constant whining about the standard of commentary? Nobody is forcing you to listen. It's your decision.
  24. A win is a win and four points in the bank. Take out the complaints about Hunt, the umpires and the commentators and this thread would be three pages long.
  25. David Bowie's real surname was Jones, but he changed it because there was already a Davy Jones in The Monkees.
