Seatbelts don't guarantee you won't get injured in a car crash, but you'd be foolish not to wear one. Parachutes don't guarantee you'll survive a fall out of a plane, but your odds of survival might be a tad better. Get vaccinated. You'd be a fool not to.

That comes across as quite nasty, vindictive and childish, Doug. Why would you want to punish innocent players and supporters?
-
This assumes that: a) Weid is prepared to go to Freo. b) Freo want him.

I don't think Damien actually knows what the term "sliding door moment" means.

The players voted for these awards, not the public.

No. His family live in Melbourne and accommodate young Demon draftees.

The Rebuild of Melbourne's List - Mongrel Punt Article
Demonstone replied to Engorged Onion's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks EO, that was an entertaining read. This puzzles me though: It’s a little alarming to think that from the 2005 Draft all the way to 2012 – just five players are on Melbourne’s list: Among those are Max Gawn, Tom McDonald and Nathan Jones. The fourth would be Jetta, but who is the fifth? -
Word is that Ross has a job lined up with the Eagles. Even with those sunglasses on, he can't hide those Lyon eyes. (sorry)

I have no idea what he wants (nor do you) but I would confidently assume that being part of team success/premierships is a most attractive proposition. I also don't think he warrants a pay cut in the magnitude that you are suggesting.
-
Why would he want to look for "opportunities" elsewhere when he's currently an important part of a young, strong team that appears to be in premiership contention for the next few years?

I'm curious about the reasoning behind this comment, Dante. I know that several posters on here have thrown Gus's name up as a potential trading chip, but I'm unaware of any other noise about him leaving.

Although not quite as good as the four albums preceding it, "Goat's Head Soup" is nevertheless an excellent but widely under-rated record. "Winter" would make my list of top twenty Stones' songs and I believe Charlie was very fond of it.

Demonstone's Special Springtime Spiflication
Demonstone replied to Demonstone's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've just had something unexpected crop up and will be away from the computer until tomorrow. Rather than keep people dangling, I'll reveal that the answer is all the players share a surname with a comedian (their names in purple). -
Demonstone's Special Springtime Spiflication

Hardtack has correctly identified the connection and is today's silver medallist. As usual, Mazer Rackham was first to crack it open in seconds flat and wins the gold medal. Bronze still up for grabs. -

Not the footy media, Nasher. -

Riz and iz rhyme with quiz! -
I agree that we need professional umpires managed by a competent director. However, it is not the umpire who is the problem here. Toby Greene's behaviour is the problem.

Spring is here, the grass is riz, it's still ten days until the Prelim iz. What better time to roll out another quiz? As usual, you need to work out the common factor with these players. Answers in a PM please so we can keep it going a bit longer. B: Marty (Tom) Gleeson John (Ronnie) Barker Ben (Woody) Allen H/B: Cameron (Lenny) Bruce Jared (Joan) Rivers Chris (Paul) McDermott C: Jordan (Jerry) Lewis Greg (Robin) Williams Marc (Eddie) Murphy H/F: Dustin (Steve) Martin Jesse (Paul) Hogan Chris (Billy) Connolly F: Anthony (Chris) Rock Peter "2MP" (Steven) Wright Michael (Ed) Byrne R: Jason (Lucille) Ball Patrick (Rodney) Dangerfield Sam (David) Mitchell I/C: Josh (Jimmy) Carr Nathan (Milton) Jones Tim (Frankie) Boyle James (Peter) Cook

I thought that was for the Trapezius muscle.

"Welcome to your Grand Final commentary. Max Gawn has won the toss and the Demons will be kicking to the Sea of Tranquility end here at Lunar Park. The atmosphere at the ground is severely lacking and the playing surface not only resembles a dust bowl but is also quite uneven and appears to be full of craters. Flags on top of the stand are completely limp but the view is out of the world. Thankfully, the lights are on and we can confirm that the half-time entertainment is Pink Floyd."

Craig McRae is widely known in footy by the nickname "Fly". Does this mean we can refer to his baby Magpies as "Maggots"?

He can consider himself lucky to only get three weeks.

As a painter, Ronnie makes a half-decent guitarist. More trivia - he had an older brother called Art Wood who was not only a singer, but a graphic artist!

I'm getting more confused by the minute here, IRW! Do you mean Bobby Keys? Or Jim Keays from the Masters Apprentices? Both are now sadly deceased. Trivia Time: Bobby was born on the same day as Keith Richards.
