  1. Melbourne targets North Melbourne Ruckman David Hale According to the HUN, we're chasing David Hale in the trade period. Could be a good acquistion as he can help Jamar out in the ruck, but also prove a target in the forward line. Kicked 38 goals in 2008 including a bag of 8 against Geelong. Also kicked 5 goals against Freo in 2009.Hale is an accurate kick at goal. In Demonland tradition where we all overate MFC players and bag the crap out of all opposition players, I expect most people to be close minded to the idea of getting Hale.
  2. Since we got Maric at pick 22, I'd accept nothing less than pick 30.
  3. Yeah I hope he goes for the screw-ins not the moulded!
  4. So we give Morton 3 years of crucial development only to sell him to West Coast for the exact same draft pick we originally got him for.
  5. You'd imagine both clubs would be working on a Nathan Jones for Alwyn Davey package that includes a swap of draft picks.
  6. He'd make our forward line look like an All Australian team!! Fev, Jurrah, Green, Sylvia, Dunn, Watts. But it's not gonna happen.
  7. I was surprised they called it a season after round 6 with a shoulder injury. If we were in finals calcualtions, they may have rushed him back.
  8. I'd love Mundy at Melbourne.
  9. Jurrah is the most skillful player at the MFC by the length of the Flemington, Caulfield and Mooney Valley straights combined. If he can average 3 goals a game next year, I'll elevate him into star status. He was a 'star' against North.
  10. I doubt we'll get 25,000 to this one. Timeslot will turn away 5,000 and Norf fans won't turn up to this one.
  11. Pick 12 if we lose? Pick 16 if we win and Port lose? I'd love a win tomorrow!
  12. I'd take a Miller farewell game over a tired and worn out Jack Trengove who has barely been able to contribute a thing over the last fortnight.
  13. 6) Jurrah (4 gls, highlights aplenty, will be a marquee player) 5) Bruce ( great first half, played like a leader) 4) Scully (exciting game, clangers were minimal, great goal on the bell) 3) McDonald (typical skipper performance) 2) McKenzie (liked his inside work, never gave up unlike others) 1) Aussie (made things happen, but wasn't a great effort overall) I refuse to give any key defenders votes today. Their worst effort all year.
  14. Cam Bruce would have to be a strong possibility by virtue of the fact that he barely misses a game like Green. Moloney and Grimes should be overlooked due to being injury prone. Green gets my vote.
  15. Getting sick of Morton being on the fringe of selection week after week. He's too talented for suburban footy and he's a big part of our future. Please play him in the final 2 games!
  16. Injury list looks huge but we really only have 4 of our best 22 out for this week - one of which hasn't been seen since round 6. If Moloney plays we only have 3 missing. This has been our best injury run since 2006. We have managed to field the majority of our best 22 each week. Most of the players on the list during the year have either been your kids in Tapscott, Gysberts and Gawn or players that are not up to it like Meeson, Hughes and Martin.
  17. Maric deserves a game this week. Didn't desereve to be dropped after the Sydney game but had to make way for the skipper. Wouldn't be opposed to the idea of dropping one of Watts or Bennell this week. IN - Maric, Bate (was our BOG last time at AAMI) OUT - Davey, Watts
  18. Good news, but I feel as though this has been our most stable year at selections since 2006. Been an OK year as far as injuries are concerned.
  19. ^^^^^^^ Ripper first post mate! Some good points and some bloody shockers.
  20. Thought he was good today...infact I'm hoping we sign him up for 2 more years.
  21. Saw the game live on the net. We had a few go against us but it wasn't the be all, end all.... How many [censored] easy goals did they get from clearances in their forward pocket???
  22. I'm hoping the Hawks lose next week to Freo (unlikely) and Coll while North beat WC. I'd love us to play North in rd 22 with their finals on the line. Would be a taste of a mini elimination final and to see how we stack up to the pressure.
  23. Please don't blame the umps. It's the most [censored] weak excuse after a loss.
  24. 1) The boundary throw in, in the 1st qtr that we gifted them a goal. 2) The boundary throw in, in the 4th qtr that we gifted them a goal. 3) The boundary throw in, in the 4th qtr that we gifted them a goal. Seriously, some of our stoppages (lack of pressure) were shocking, we left the likes of Hodge and Burgoyne alone and they punished us. Bailey will let them know about it. It's all a learning curve and we'll get there.
  25. Bit of both. Would like to win the next 2 games but if Jamar, Moloney and Davey are too sore, just shut them down. Would like Maric back in the side, he's good enough for AFL. I'm tempted to do a Miller for Watts swap in rd 22 - Give Miller a farewell against North. Not really interested in #25 - a dime a dozen small defender. I'll be happy with winning 1 of 2 games for a most satisfactory 9 win season. The club needs to eventually win at AAMI and prove that they can actually beat our nemisis in North.
