  1. Never said he had no impact on the game, but because he had only 7 touches I'm not sure if that will save him from the chop...even though he did a job on Shaw. And lets face it Dunn is always first on the chopping block.
  2. INS - Sylvia OUTS - Gysberts (omitted). 1) No McDonald you ask? Just a gut feel that they'll rest him one more week. If he did a proper hammy injury, they say it's 21 days on the sidelines and he's only missed 2 weeks. Secondly, my conspiracy theory (which our friend Rhino Richards rejects) is that they'll rest him this week to ensure he plays his 250th at the G rather in Perth in round 16. 2) WHy the hell drop Gysberts after 2 fantastic games to start his career??? Well I could've thrown the omission blanket over Gysberts, Jetta, Watts, McKenzie and Dunn as they had the least impact of all players last week. However, unfortunetly I feel Gysberts might be the unlucky one this week.
  3. Hope you're wrong. Would be a horrible waste of a pick 19 if Strauss doesn't make it. I remember in Burgan's phanton draft, he had us possibly picking Zaharakis at 19 which I was happy with at the time.
  4. Strange isn't it! I'm living in the USA and this was not available until today.
  5. Yeah they hurt, but most weeks we've had all our defenders and midfielders fit and available. The last 3 years we'd always have at least 2 defenders out, half the midfield and a couple of forwards out. Next week, hopefully the only best 22 player injured will be Petterd. I can't remember having such a healthy list at the midway break?? Touch wood.
  6. This week - Casey 2's Next week - Casey 1's (half a game) July 3/4 - Casey 1's (full game) July 11 - Melbourne V Essendon ???????
  7. Is it just me or has this year been our best injury run since 2006?? Sure we've had a few long term injuries, but most weeks we're only missing 3 or 4 of our best 22, while in previous years we'd have 6-8 out each week.
  8. I think Adelaide will be too good for us at AAMI. They've won 3 of their last 5 games, so their recent form is quite good. I've written North Melbourne off as a loss. For some reason we don't have the ability to beat them...don't know what it is. Essendon is a possibility. Richmond is winnable. Swans is a possibility Port maybe...if they've given up on the season. We may end the season at 7-14-1 which will be a nice achievement.
  9. Sylvia and Junior should be back for Adelaide due to the week off. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they 'rested' Junior another week so he avoids playing his 250th V's Freo at Subi in round 16. Could be our strongest side all year V Adelaide. I wonder if they'll be able to bury that horrible AAMI hoodoo.
  10. Horrible news. How many more set-backs can a person take??
  11. Jack Watts showed me today that he has the skills to be a fine player. His brain farts will get ironed out and I can't wait till he has the strength to outmark his opponent. His performance was a 4.5/10. Some good, some bad.
  12. Totally agree with both players. Garland's field kicking was the best of all players. Always found a target off half back while so many others struggled. I had a few doubts about him before the game (unimpressive all year) but he showed us that 2008 form today. Superb goal from 55. Morton was excellent today. A real class act and had so much poise when he has the ball. He's a sure thing from outside 50 on the run. I'm going to make a call and say he'll end up being our best MFC player of the 2007-2009 draft era. Yes, better than Scully and Trengove as he's perfectly moulded for the modern game.
  13. 3) Jamar 2.5) Moloney 2) Garland 1.5) Davey 1) Morton 0.5) Jones (some will disagree but gets votes for that critical goal and a gutsy smother in the 2nd half) So proud of the boys. We'll wake up tomorrow happy that we took some points. Edit - on reflection, Bartram stiff to miss out and probably should replace Jones for the last vote.
  14. I sensed trouble as soon as Dick came in. I just hope he doesn't kick the winning goal, as he'll be known as the Queens Birthday King. Proud of the boys to be hanging around at 3qtr time.
  15. One thing I trust about Watts is his goal kicking for goal. He looks sound and accurate.
  16. Very pleasantly surprised with trailing by only 1 point when it looked like a 10 + goal loss 5 mins in. Garland's playing his best game since his return and how good was his 55 mtr goal. If we lose I hope it's not by under a goal. Can't handle more heartbreak against the Filth.
  17. I'd take Collingwood's most dangerous and creative player out. Great news! I'll puke though if Dick kicks 5 goals again like he did last year.
  18. Lynden Dunn got close with 8.....
  19. Not a hope in hell! Hawks will kill us like they always do. Surely Bailey (and a boat load of players) is in a bit of trouble if we win the spoon again, considering he stated to all and sundry that we "can't and won't win the spoon" again. Winning the spoon is not as impossible as others are suggesting.
  20. Was the hero in our round 15 2001 game against Carlton at Optus, with 2 goals. Had a soft spot for him even though he was a pretty ordinary player. Him and Godfrey were our most maligned players in the 2002-2006 era.
  21. And Brad Dick, the guy who kicked 5 goals against us last year might replace O'Bree. The news just keeps getting better.......
  22. That's because all the other clubs have either stopped taking us lightly or have woken up to whatever the hell we were doing that was making us successful. Nothing to do with Morton. The one thing that annoys me about Morton is he's prone to at least 2 school boy clangers a game which I hope he irons out. Other than that, this topic is just plain silly. I suggest he takes a look at Melbourne V ST Kilda round 22 last year, when he got 30 quality touches as an example of Morton's upside.
  23. I'd trade pick 6 (we'll finish 15th) for Taylor Walker. I really like the look of this kid and he has star written all over him and I reckon he'd probably have more upside than any forward available in this years draft. I'd even throw in a SA boy like Rivers or a McNamara to get the trade over the line. But the more goals Walker kicks, the more he becomes untouchable. That being said, will Petterd and Jurrah make a huge difference to our fwd line crisis? We really need to add one or two forwards in the trade/draft period that will be walk up starts in round 1 2011.
  24. Dammit! I'm back in town for the round 14 and 15 and was expecting to see him play his 250th against Essendon in round 15. I guess that's out the door. Can't believe people are defending Miller. He kicked 5 goals against Port but 4 of them were from about 10 mtrs out. He then kicked 1.4 against Geelong while not being able to hit the side of a barn. Then last week I think he went near the ball only 2 times and dropped the pill both times. Not too many players get worse in their prime (age 26) but Miller is one of them. Should not have been rewarded with a game this week but I guess you get lucky when your club doesn't have any forward line depth.
  25. Bad news for the potential result. Good news for the coffers...better weather = better crowd. Was kind of hoping for a horrible wet and windy day.
