  1. And be sure to enjoy all those 1:00am 60 minute replays because channel 7 couldn't be bothered showing them at a family friendly hour. There is a reason why channel 7 and 10 prefer not to show 4 games each for the weekend. Footy on TV is officially back to the dark ages.
  2. Man, I don't know how to feel? I really want this player on the primary list, but for this to happen we must have a long term injury (and we obviously don't want this to happen to anyone) Perhaps a Bizzell/Brown/Ward may feel mid-season that their career prospects are over and retire/donate their spot to Hayes if he's ripping it up at Sandy? The kid seems really exciting!!! Infact more exciting than any of the other draftees (except Pettard)
  3. Perhaps its the club's first official secret lockout session for the season. We don't want to give too much away to Hawthorn for our first NAB Cup game in 2 months
  4. Ouch!!!! Kicked a couple of nice ones against Freo............... But get your drift B)
  5. Wow what an exciting profile!!! Wish he was on our primary list.
  6. Much happier getting a speedy exciting wingman/goal sneak than a tall uncordinated unaggressive ruckman. But for now he's Sandringham's gain, not ours.
  7. Any chance that Fox Sportz 3 will be showing replays of each game during the week. They've already hinted that they'll be showing 'On the Couch' and for some strange reason they are currently showing games from 2005 (albeit at midnight). This would be a major win for Foxtel subscribers! Would they have to play channel 7/10 for the privelage? Please don't tell me we'll be only seeing 5 minute highlight packages on the news and sport channels
  8. Pfft... if you'd rather watch paint dry! But each to their own I guess.
  9. Sylvia's an interesting one. I wonder just how much improvement is in him. So far he's mainly played a cameo role in most games, ie- a freakish mark here, a good goal there. And he has certainly been injury plagued so its been hard to get full games out of him. On the other hand he started 2006 in full fitness and played the first 7 or 8 (NAB included) games and while he played well, he certainly wasn't A-Grade level. So the question is have we seen the very best of him when not injured, or is he ready to explode and become a consistent A-Grade performer!
  10. Totally agree. Channel 7's coverage of football in 2001 (its last year) was absolutely second rate. I can remember they showed 3 Rugby Bedisloe Cup games if favour of the Saturday night games. As if the majority of Victorians give a crap about Rugby. Channel 7 appear to be the least dedicated out of all the channels I reckon. If Foxtel don't show any live games, it would still be nice if they can come to a deal whereby they'll show a replay of all 8 games during the week so you can tape the wins commercial free instead of an ad after each goal.
  11. Totally agree with you on that one. Grossly overated for such little output so far. He's played 1 decent game out of 13. I'm hoping Miller's the man that improves out of sight and becomes one of the leading CHF's in the comp.
  12. Great here's to channel 7 showing a 90 minute replay package at 1:30 am on a Sunday/Monday morning. Here's to channel 7 showing Rugby Union tests in favour of AFL (like they screwed us around in 2001) I'm also excited that there will be no more commercial free games. I'm so rapt I've got foxtel. I couldn't be happier!!!
  13. Saw Billy Brownless at Emirate Stakes Day yesterday at Flemington. Pretty sure he was having a good afternoon on the frothies!!!!!!
  14. I'll go out on a limb here and suggest: Brad Miller - Millsy
  15. My predictions Delists - Read (last week confirmed he's finished) - Motlop (unless he pulls a rabbit out of his hat in September) - Newton (harsh prediction - maybe onto rookie list or even redrafted) - Nicholson (Officially last in the defensive pecking order) -Godfrey or Ward - Both are actually displaying good form of late but I fear one of the two will be sacked. No trade value however. - Nick Smith - if he fails to play a senior AFL game then the harsh realities of AFL footy will catch up with him Trades - Bell - If he fails to impress then perhaps he may be shopped around for the right pick/player Wheatley - Clubs will be interested in a booming kick with pace. I'm not particularly interested in him anymore. Ferguson - Injuries may have robbed him of a long career at the MFC. Was nearly traded to Hawthorn. The sort of trade you could use for a Leigh Harding type.
  16. Cheers mate, Yeah I have read the Coodabeens. Their a great laugh!
  17. Gary Moorcroft kicked our first goal of the 2003 Wizard Cup against Richmond at the Dome (a freak soccer off the ground) and I remember all the Dees supporters jumping for joy and claiming he was the MFC next big thing. Missed the season opener against Hawthorn but was quickly elevated for a round 2 clash against his old mob the Bombers at the MCG. Played much of the game on the wing and did deadly squat. (so did the MFC) Was immediatly dropped for our round 3 blockbuster against the Western Bulldogs under the closed Dome roof (dees won by 6 goals). And remained in Sandringham while the Dees played a stinker at Skilled against Geelong. While all hope was lost for the 'red nut', Moorcroft was suddenly rushed back in the side for our round 5 Anzac Day Night game against Sydney. Young Gary kicked a nice second qtr goal from outside 50 however his team wasn't so 'nice' as we let go a 3 goal 3qtr time lead into a 4 goal loss. Gazza was on his last legs against West Coast for a traditional Saturday afternoon battle at the MCG. While the bloke with the ginger hair was again next to useless, he did kick a ripping goal from 55 (from a set shot) as the Dees came from nowhere to snag a 4 point lead at half time. Alas the 'Class of 2003' couldn't sustain their second quarter effort and went down by 6 goals. Thanks for the memories Gary Moorcroft!!!!!!!
  18. In 2046 we'll all be in our rocking chairs saying "gee that Brock was a true demon great" Neitz/Flower to the present (apologies to Godfrey, Holland, Grgic, and Hopgood) McLean for the future
  19. Donald C-Collins was an absolute nut case. I remember the night at AAMI in 97 when he head butted some Port bloke for no apparent reason!! I can't even remember David playing a game?? Martin Heppel, David Grant, Robert Pyman, Nick Pesch, Brent Williams and Ross Funcke come to mind as players who hardly set the world on fire for us!
