I love this thread and share your anger. I've travelled to that cesspit twice in 2004 (Adel) and 2005 (Port). We lost both game by an average of 73pts. It's a freaking disgrace how we turn to water at that joint and the SA Demon members deserve better from a professional sporting organisation. I hate the fact that we're all talk. I just thought it might be a little thought provoking on how we approach his re-signing considering the new clubs want young raw talent and that he hasn't shown the promise that other early picks like Morton, Grimes, Scully and Trengove have.

Has the discussion regarding the Jack Watts contract extension been done to death?? Unlike other threads where we bag him, this is more of a managerial discussion and how we can protect him from the new clubs without paying above the odds.

What is it with this website bagging the likes of Russell and Underwood after every game we lose? Not their fault we were a disgrace in each game they've called us lately. Russell's a pain the ass but at least he got excited in our 3rd qtr rally and declared the game alive. He's a pretty decent commentator despite his 'alleged' hatred of Melbourne.

He's shown a bit more than Watts at this stage, wouldn't you agree? This is not a Watts bashing thread as I'm convinced he'll at least become a servicable 35 goal a year player. He has the skill set and natural ability to support my assertion. However the club may have their hands tied behind their back in terms of offering a contract above market value at the moment, when you consider Ricky Petterd has the runs on the board and will have GC throwing $100 bills at him.

I reckon it's getting a bit delicate at the moment. The telecast today reminded me that he's out of contract. On current performance, he deserves a 2 year, $250,000 (in total) extension due to the fact that he's shown nothing compared to his top 10 peers such as Hill, Nick Nat, Rich and Hurley. However his potential and under 18's reputation demands more. Obviously the above contract won't be enough to get the job done, as Gold Coast or GWS will pay more than that for a "potential" gun forward. What do you think the Dees should offer, keeping in mind his performance thus far, to protect him from the expansion teams??

The good old token 3rd qtr comeback. Happened against Carlton and North only to bomb out in the last. My oponion of Matty Bate has notched a bit higher 2day. He's actually been a dangerous forward with 3 goals.

The thing that's [censored] me off is the same old same old in Adelaide. Bailey's proved to me that he can't get his side up for certain assignments and that's a worry for the future. This is the lowest I've felt since 2008.

Interesting that we've dropped a midfielder for another tallish defender in MacDonald. We now have plenty of options for Taylor Walker and Kurt Tippet who can both win games off their own boot.

Yeah good news assuming they don't contest the suspension. Essendon will have half of their defence out and might have to take the dangerous Hurley from the forward line into defence. On a side note, I think it was Bruce McAvaney stating that Fletcher was a clean up-standing citizen Fletcher on the field. He failed to take into account Fletcher's long tribunal history.

I think this game is slightly more important than some think it is. It's a bit of an 8 point game in that if we win, we're only 1.5 games out of the 8 (with Carlton fading and North having tough games ahead) but if we lose we're only 1.5 games from the bottom. I also don't under-estimate the mental obastacle that AAMI holds for us. We haven't been competetive (as in losing margin less than 45pts) in a game there since round 20 2003. This needs to change. Would be a very valuable win IMO, and Adelaide are in better form than us - they have won 3 of their last 6 games, while we are 1 out of our last 7.

Fair enough. Although It would not surprise me if Dunn gets dropped simply because he gets dropped every 2nd or 3rd game. Very tough week at selections this week which is healthy.

We'll have to drop 1 or 2 players this week and IMO Gysberts was the least effective player last week. Hence that's why I think he'll be omitted. It seems harsh to drop players after a performance like that, but we likely have 2 senior players returning so 2 have to make way.
