  1. And Brad Dick, the guy who kicked 5 goals against us last year might replace O'Bree. The news just keeps getting better.......
  2. That's because all the other clubs have either stopped taking us lightly or have woken up to whatever the hell we were doing that was making us successful. Nothing to do with Morton. The one thing that annoys me about Morton is he's prone to at least 2 school boy clangers a game which I hope he irons out. Other than that, this topic is just plain silly. I suggest he takes a look at Melbourne V ST Kilda round 22 last year, when he got 30 quality touches as an example of Morton's upside.
  3. I'd trade pick 6 (we'll finish 15th) for Taylor Walker. I really like the look of this kid and he has star written all over him and I reckon he'd probably have more upside than any forward available in this years draft. I'd even throw in a SA boy like Rivers or a McNamara to get the trade over the line. But the more goals Walker kicks, the more he becomes untouchable. That being said, will Petterd and Jurrah make a huge difference to our fwd line crisis? We really need to add one or two forwards in the trade/draft period that will be walk up starts in round 1 2011.
  4. Dammit! I'm back in town for the round 14 and 15 and was expecting to see him play his 250th against Essendon in round 15. I guess that's out the door. Can't believe people are defending Miller. He kicked 5 goals against Port but 4 of them were from about 10 mtrs out. He then kicked 1.4 against Geelong while not being able to hit the side of a barn. Then last week I think he went near the ball only 2 times and dropped the pill both times. Not too many players get worse in their prime (age 26) but Miller is one of them. Should not have been rewarded with a game this week but I guess you get lucky when your club doesn't have any forward line depth.
  5. Bad news for the potential result. Good news for the coffers...better weather = better crowd. Was kind of hoping for a horrible wet and windy day.
  6. If it's anything like last year I expect us to wear the red strip (if it still exists??) against Port and St Kilda. I expect us to wear the white strip against Adelaide, Brisbane and Fremantle. I like a clash strip and am happy to wear it 6-7 times a year. Maybe in 20 years, all clubs will be wearing clash strips in all of their away games - like all the other big leagues around the world.
  7. How about we trade for a full forward at the end of the year, or try to find another Podsiadly??
  8. And not too many 3-5 teams have a percentage over 100!!
  9. I'd have a nibble at Taylor Walker. Has the most upside of all the above. A three-headed monster of Jurrah, Watts and Walker could cause heart-ache for a lot of defenders. I hope the club trades for a forward at the end of the year. We bloody well need them, considering we have a 3rd word forward line (and 3rd worst stats wise in the AFL). Having Fitzpatrick is great but we need more 'ready to go' weapons, considering Miller and Newton are gone at the end of the year.
  10. Reasonable news I would've thought. Good to keep the 'brothers' together. Jurrah - The most skilful player at the club with the most X factor at the club; Bennell - Our fastest player, has the makings of a star. Been pleased with his move to wing/half forward. His mistakes aren't as costly if he's not playing defence. Already kicked a magic goal and screamer of a mark to underscore his potential. Jetta - After a slow start to 2009, he picked it up in the second half and you need to get a copy of his Carlton round 21 game - 24 touches and 2 gls. Would like him to play 8-10 games this year. Not sure if he'll end up as a midfielder, goal sneak, defensive forward, or running defender. I precict him to be a solid player for the club but not a star like Jurrah and Bennel.
  11. Their supporters would rather North die than re-locate...if you read bigfooty. Perhaps James Brayshaw has the same stance. 28,000 is a very good crowd for a Melbourne V West Coast game. Well done and we'll make a little profit I'd say.
  12. He had it in for him when Watts played his second game against Essendon last year. "i've seem nothing to suggest to me why Watts was the number 1 draft pick" - June 2009
  13. I know Miller is our favourite whipping boy and he's border line AFL standard but who else do we have up forward? Who can we honestly say was our full forward today? They had McKinley, Kennedy and Lynch as their FF options...we had who?? The guy has been performing CONSISTENTLY at VFL level and a 7 week penance (crap Rd 1) is enough. Bring him in along with Morton and Wonna and lets start kicking goals again.
  14. 6) J McDonald 5) J Grimes 4) B Moloney 3) M Warnock 2) J McKenzie 1) B Green
  15. We may be a sniff V Port. We're both on neutral ground. Davey and maybe Wonna are back home. Hopefully the boys will bounce back and Port are about as predictable as the New York stock exchange or a Simon Buckley 35 metre pass. The only time we've played in Darwin we beat the Dogs by a couple of goals in the NAB cup.
  16. I have an easy solution for u Jaded: In Joel MacDonald Out - Mr Rivers
  17. Big call there champ!
  18. Sylvia's been rubbish in all our 3 losses.
  19. Why not bring him back after todays goal orgy?
  20. I'm sure he'll play 4 or 5 more games throughout the year, but he's gone at the end of the year - assuming he's out of contract.
  21. We'll finish 12th - 13th due to a tough draw from now on. 7 or 8 wins.
  22. I'm fairly confident we'll win this game, and that's saying a lot as I'm a glass half empty man. We play our best footy against intersate clubs at the G and Saturday will hopefully be no exception. We need this win like a dog needs his bone because if we lose this match any slight finals chance will be out the window.
  23. We really need this win like a dog needs his bone! We have Port, Geelong, Carlton and Collingwood in the 4 assignments after. Pity we can't host Port at the G as we could've been 5-4.
  24. Looks like the Collingwood culture has already rubbed off on him.
  25. Agree with your comment and remember the game well. The only time Martin has been servicable has been as the number 3 key defender. I think he's a natural defender and he's surplus to requirements down there at the moment...hense I think he has no place in the side at the moment. Paul Johnson has way more to offer at the moment, and that's why he's been selected 2nite.
