  1. Has kicked 4 goals in an AFL game. Also worked at Charcoal chicken. Expect Dwayne Russell to continually rattle of these tid bits all day if he's in the commentary booth.
  2. Sign me up for this.
  3. Goodwin, ad nauseam, has continually preached that we won't be wasting a game, a quarter, a training session etc. So of course we'll be taking risks by playing injured players in a career defining game against the 1 win-18 loss West Coast side.
  4. Week 1 match ups: Adelaide (1) V GC (4) Geelong (2) V Collingwood (3) Brisbane (5) V Hawthorn (8) Fremantle (6) V Bulldogs (7) The highly talented GWS somehow missing.
  5. Putting aside the fact that a good half a dozen players should’ve been dropped after the most embarrassing loss in the club’s history, why are we playing an injured Jack Viney in the deadliest of dead rubbers you’ll ever get?
  6. "There were things that we really liked in the last 4 minutes of the game" - Simon Goodwin.
  7. And has anyone else noticed every time we lose a game, one of the opposition's players is in Gary Lyon's best 3 players of the weekend across the league - without fail (on AFL 360)
  8. The answer is yes if the board had leaked to the media that his career was riding on this result. There would absolutely nothing to gain by beating West Coast by 14 points with probably 20 more scoring shots. And let’s face it, beating West Coast is basically an automatic 4 points for every club. Even Richmond belted them the other week But given none of us knows what’s going on, I’m totally ambivalent about this result. A win basically achieves nothing aside from the Turner’s, Lindsay’s, Windsor’s and Langford’s singing the song for a rare time.
  9. The entire top level is closed for this game. Must be expecting a crowd of about 5,000.
  10. Agree with all of that. St Kilda will end the season winning 4 of their last 5 games (they now play 3 bottom 4 sides in a row) and head into 2026 sky high with confidence, and they'll trace it back to the win over us. However in reality they had lost their prior 6 games, they were worse than putrid for 3 quarters on Sunday, and I could not believe how easy they were to play against through to 3 quarter time.
  11. A couple of little ones. 1) a lot of Dees supporters are having a crack at St Kilda supporters for celebrating like they'd won the flag. I guarantee you we would have been carrying like pork chops if we mowed down a 46 point lead. I guarantee you Collingwood supporters would've celebrated just as hard even if they came from 46 against North or West Coast. It was just an incredible achievement to win from so far back and it's only natural for a fan of any team to go off their head after a win like that. 2) Melksham giving it to the St Kilda crowd when he put us 43 points up half way through the third should've aged well but didn't. 3) Windsor giving NWM a round of applause after he produced a rare stuff up most certainly didn't age well.
  12. Ollie Florent was a staple for Sydney but for some reason can't get a game. I'll be annoyed if we let Fritta go. There is such thing as a career form slump and he clearly appears over that.
  13. I tend to agree with this crowd of 9K. Seems absurd that we could get a crowd that low in modern day footy. However, we got just 8,900 in 2015 V GWS at Marvel despite the supporter fan base developing some hope and confidence in the team for the first time in years. Fast forward 10 years later and we are at an absolute low ebb in terms of disillusionment in the players, coach and club overall.
  14. This bit has me baffled. Not only are we the most inaccurate side in the league (48%) but our opponents are a combined 58% which is the most accurate points conceded in the league - if that makes sense. Seems like the majority of weeks the oppo can't miss.
  15. I’d view that as a massive win considering only about 3,000 MFC supporters showed up yesterday.
  16. Harley Reid out for rest of the season. No McGovern, Oscar Allen, Waterman, Sheed, Yeo, Jack Graham. They’ve got us where they want us: Our complacent best 🄓
  17. Any truth to the speculation that Harley Reid's out for this one? Add him to Oscar Allan, Waterman, Yeo, McGovern etc.... Meanwhile we'll be mentally ruined after yesterday as they return to the scene of the crime 6 days later. Yesterday I was devastated after the loss. Next week I'll just laugh if we get done.
  18. Because it's so raw, this feels like the most humiliating loss of the lot. However, when the dust settles, the Carlton 2023 semi final loss was surely more heart-breaking than some dead rubber in round 20 where both clubs are going nowhere. I also like the nomination of the Geelong's 2018 loss where we lost after the siren. That was torture.
  19. I’m amazed the win/loss ratio is that high.
  20. The final play/meltdown has justifiably come under the microscope, but in reality how much better would have we all felt if we hung on for a draw after a blowing all 46 points of our unassailable lead? When NWM kicked the goal to level the score with 9 seconds left, it genuinely felt like a loss, and a draw might have wallpapered over some major cracks.
  21. Fun fact. The Essendon no name that destroyed us in Gather Round is languishing in the Essendon magoos despite his team experiencing one of the worst injury crisis of all time. I’m tipping Collard to be the nominated ā€œno nameā€ of the day to kick 4 goals and be the sole difference in an 11 point win for St Kilda.
  22. I heard that from Dwayne too and I thought it was more than a fair call.
  23. If this hasn’t been the worst round of football since 1897 can you please let me know which round topped this disaster?
  24. I would be very confident that if you conducted a survey of 10 MFC supporters on the train to Marvel on Sunday, at least 7 of them would predict St Kilda to win. I truly admire your optimism, but we’ve burnt far too many bridges since mid last year for many MFC supporters to be confident of an even money game such as Sunday.
