  1. Not a fan of Watts I take it? Great that we kicked the last 2 goals of the qtr to plant a seed of doubt for the Poo and Gold. Unusual to be so close at half time to that mob.
  2. Should be in the team (based on 08 and 09) but isn't. I predicted after the 2nd Collingwood game that he'd turn out to be our best draft pick from the last 4 years. Probably one of our rare bad news stories for the year, but the knee injury didn't help. Hopefully he'll come back next year and own a spot in the 22.
  3. Hopefully with Sydney and Carlton cementing their spots in the 8, this will end all the talk of finals around here. We were never EVER going to play finals in 2010 and the last 4 games we can instead focus on momemtum for 2011 and having a genuine crack for finals next year.
  4. I voted no because I'd hate to miss seeing the boys in finals action for the first time. But I really mean yes as finals would be a wonderful achievement for the group. I reckon we'll lose to Hawthorn and certainly Port Adelaide to finish 9th. Carlton and Sydney will both survive.
  5. Agree. Let's hope selection doesn't bite us back.
  6. Probably the most responsible post I've read all year. 2nite will be a bloody hard game to win, and Port & Essendon are ahead of us on the ladder after 2days wins. This week's media coverage has been ridiculous and way too complimentary for a club that's won 6 games. We've shown some awesome form this year...but our reward could be 13th place if we lose 2nite. Go Dees!
  7. I'm with you Joe. Been overseas in Seattle since mid 2008 and have to say I've chosen the best possible time (if there is one?) to be away from the Dees when you consider how crap we were in 08 and 09. Luckily I made it back for a couple of games in rd 14/15 and saw us beat Essendon which was fantastic. I too will be back (for good) for the start of the 2011 season and hope to make it to every VIC game next year. The Aussie TV package ($60 per year) has been fantastic for me...I can watch entire replays 12 hours after conclusion. Plus the $6 live game option is good too, and I'll cheer on the boys this week Vs Lions. I also agree that the Yanks have no idea about AFL. I remember last years GF - trying to watch the game at the pub and had to beg the manager to show the game. He evenutally did show it and not one patron even bothered to watch any of the game. Also, if I had a dollar for every American who thinks our great game is rugby I'd be rather rich.
  8. Some people would have you belive that the only reason we were 40pts down against Freo was because we wearing the white strip. They'd also say that had we worn it last week V Sydney we would've lost. The anti alternate strip discussion has been one of Demonland's most annoying topics over the years. It's a jumper we have to wear every other away game...who cares!
  9. I was convinced Bailey had a policy of not dropping Casey regulars after 1 game. He kept Strauss, Hughes, PJ and Cheney after average to poor games. Still, it wouldn't be a week go by without a late change.
  10. Scott West influence??
  11. Can't agree. We didn't pick up a player at pick 4 to only play him at certain grounds. No way Morton will be dropped again this year.
  12. Don't know why but I LOL'D at that comment. So excited we have a potential super star anchored in our defence...and he just signed a 4 year contract!!! Thanks CAC for one of your parting gifts!!
  13. How awesome is it to see Col Sylvia play 2 top shelf games in 3 weeks!!
  14. I have to admit I only watched the first 20 mins live, and then the ESPN website (in the USA) crashed grrrr!! 6) Sylvia 5) Frawley 4) Green 3) Bartram 2) Morton 1) Jamar Davey and Dunn would proabably feature in others. Congrats to the boys on a truly awesome win.
  15. Probably not us......
  16. Things would've gotten really serious had Carlton lost last night - would've been just 1.5 games out of the top 8. But not to be. The win alone 'wins' us respect and we should set a goal of winning 3 of the last 5 games. We can start thinking about finals next year IMO.
  17. IN - Bail Out - Jones...had enough of his brain fades.
  18. Agreed. 3 wooden spoons isn't going to look great on Bailey's resume.
  19. He's been giving away far too many frees in defence this year. 17 against while only 4 for. This needs to be addressed if he's to become a good defender. I wouldn't mind trialling him forward later in the year.
  20. If true, thank god for that! Our forward line stinks at the moment...with apologies to Matty Bate.
  21. I'd like to see Bennell back in the side. He was a spark plug during our excellent April and has the tools to be a gun player. Maybe a direct swap with Jetta. Now that it seems Junior and Sylvia (probably) won't return my guess would be: IN - Cheney, Bennell OUT - McKenzie, Jetta or Miller Jetta and Miller were completely ineffective last week and one of the two will pay the price. Speaking of early season spark plugs, I'd like to see Rohan Bail play the last 6 or 7 games of the year to see if he has a future. He was a solid contributor in our early season wins. He has much needed pace and run which suits our coast to coast style of footy.
  22. This. Except I doubt we'll kick the first goal.
  23. I wouldn't mind seeing him live on Sunday night - fit or not fit.
  24. $350,000 for 2 years, just to ward off the new teams. They may however counter with $600,000 for 3 years...
