CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
Bring-Back-Powell replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Kennedy for Harmes next week? -
Pedo would've spudded it up against quality opposition.

Garlett's played 2 garbage games after his contract extension. surely no correlation...

Suggestion for Joe Boy's 3 word analysis: Tyson - career best game

The bye after round 23 is a disgrace and totally unnecessary. If North have top spot sown up before the last game, what's to stop them again resting half their side as they would have nothing to play for. As for the original question, it got announced 5/8/15 last year.

I wouldn't mind a bit of wet weather to nullify the outside run of your Hills, Smiths and Hartungs.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11

Oscar Mac hasn't actually been that bad this year despite the Demonland hysteria. Tracking ok for a 19 year old and will be a player. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The fact they chose Frost over Dunn tells me it's still a development year and finals aren't on the agenda (despite what PJ told us at the end of 2014) Is there any merit in us tagging Smith and/or Brad Hill so Mitchell can't distribute to their damaging outside wingers? Smith and Hill own the MCG wings and that's where I see them killing us today. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would be staggered if Frost doesn't make his defensive debut for the Dees. With Watts, Hogan and Dawes up forward , we don't require a fourth tall fwd. I would think Frost will get a job on Sicily or O'brien. Jetta on Puopolo Hunt to be given his biggest challenge ever on Rioli simply because he's our fastest defender Tommy Mac on Gunston. Much better matchup than Roughead (wish him well) O Mac on Either Sicily or O'Brien Wagner on Breust Unlike last week I feel we have some structure up forward and down back. Three talls up fwd (Dawes, Watts and Hogan) and three talls down back (The 2 Macs and Frost). Ofcourse it's going to mean bugger all if they smash us out of the centre and Isaac Smith and Brad Hill control the 2 wings. I query Vanders ability to run out the game??? Really hoping we can be competitive in this one and then back it up with a win over Collingwood. -
As I started following footy and the Dee's in 1989 as a 7 year old, I have no recollection of these 2 finals wins (Carlton and Collingwood) in 1988 and kind of feel they're never really talked about much. We always hear about and see the highlights and the excitement of our breakthrough 1987 finals smashings of North and Sydney as well as the heartbreak of the prelim v's Hawks. The Gary Lyon winning snap over West Coast in the 1988 elimination final was synonymous with the Dee's classic highlights of the 80's. And I've seen countless replay of our elimination win over Collingwood in the wet in 1989 at Waverley. However the 13 point win over Collingwood at the MCG, followed by a 22 point win over Carlton to book our well overdue grand final appointment must have been magical moments for Dee fans as well as memorable wins in the history of our club. Would love to hear about people's re-collections and memories of these 2 games. Any good stories associated with the 2 games. Were we favourites to win each? Who for the MFC put in brilliant performances that elevated them to the class of players that could dominate on the big stage.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
You can put a bunch of blokes on the chopping block but Hunt shouldn't be one of them. I thought he was outstanding for the first 3 qtrs vs port. players in danger: ANB, Newton, Kent (his good 3rd qtr might save him), Harmes, Wagner -
I didn't watch the last quarter but I thought he was outstanding (all things considered) vs Port. That run down tackle on Amon was a thing of beauty. I think he'll make it as his pace is such a point of difference.

The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can accept a week. sauce - Keane's Twitter account Actually not a disastrous result IMO. We won't win on Saturday regardless, and he can rest up for the winnable Pies game. Hopefully he has a big game as he owes the side one. -

I can't see how he escapes without a week. If it were just 1 smack then he'd just get a fine because Ebert wasn't hurt. But to do it 3 times wasn't a good look. Hoping he just gets the one week. The rest might do him the world of good and let's face it we won't beat Hawthorn this week. Have him fresh for Queens birthday V's Collingwood, which is a game in our weight division. -
House of Bolton will be 6-5 next week when they beat Brisbane and overtake us.

Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.
Bring-Back-Powell replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I shudder to think what our back line will look like next year if we lose McDonald, but don't replace with another B+ Grade key defender who's played 100+ games. -
I'd like to see Newton (Ben not Michael) get another week. Is a lovely user of the pill.

I think We are the third highest scoring side in the comp. Adelaide are #1, Gws will be 2 after today. What a turn around since the great drought of 2014.

AFL need to look into Rhys Mathieson!
Bring-Back-Powell replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like the kid. if it wasn't for him, Jeremy Cameron (who copped 4 weeks for belting him) would've played rd 1 against us.- 228 replies

They're actually not that far down. 5 goals at half time isn't impossible to peg back.

With our outs I'll just be stoked with a win of whatever magnitude... Ugly or pretty. i cringe at people here who are gunning for an 80+ point win. The only positive if we lose is that this site will be compulsory viewing.
