  1. Wonderful news. Slobbo reckons it's about 500k a year, however negotiations probably got a bit tense as Watts's form went through the roof as the season went on.
  2. Those 2 Geelong wins down at Simmonds, in 2005 and 2015 which I was lucky to see live. Both games we were given absolutely no chance to win. In 2005 we were coming off a 7 game losing streak and finals were just about done. However we pulled off the miracle with Robbo kicking 7, including 3 in the last qtr. We had to endure a kick after the siren by the Cats but it just missed. That was the start of 3 exhilarating close wins (Dogs and Essendon) to slip into the finals. We all remember how special last years win was. Looking forward to our 2025 clash down there!
  3. ...still be disappointed with the 21 Geese that represented our jumper Vs' the Saints. Eagles will be at their flat track best on Saturday. Mark Le Cras and co shine at their best at home v's the garbage of the league.
  4. That was the same year we last beat St Kilda at Etihad.
  5. I'm visualising this thing of beauty? So which end does Petracca kick the winning goal at? Punt Rd or City end?
  6. I wouldn't have thought so. 7 or 8 win seasons probably don't stack up with the Smith's, Northey's and Daniher's of the world.
  7. About time Jeffy turns up to one of these games. 2 goals in 3 games against the Aints, as a Dee.
  8. Brilliant news and a great show of faith and loyalty by Kent, as the WA sides would've surely come knocking. Offers a real point of difference as a player and he'd be the sort you'd want if he were playing for another club.
  9. I think Geelong (and obviously the AFL) are only interested in hosting finals at Simonds Stadium against interstate clubs. This year's elimination final between Geelong and Melbourne will be at the MCG
  10. I think Hibberd will be the highest profile player we get this off season. We need money available to retain T Mac this year and Hogan next.
  11. My bad I misread the title and thought it was about Hurley not Hibberd. All signs are leading towards Hibberd but we won't get Prestia due to his price.
  12. i doubt we'll get either. We've apparently said that we can't afford Prestia's asking price, while Adelaide and the Dogs are leading the race for Hurley. I personally think Hurley will end up staying at Essendon.
  13. They've never opened the roof for a 3:20 game. So no.
  14. I don't think we're clearly better than St Kilda. I would say we're very even. What makes you say we are clearly better? Further, St Kilda will probably finish higher on the ladder than us as their draw gets easier and don't travel anymore, while our draw gets much tougher and we still have 2 more trips.
  15. I think they only open the roof for the early afternoon games. Couldn't work out why they closed it for our first meeting. It was 24 and beautiful.
  16. We've never won after Darwin and the last time we beat St Kilda the Concordes were still flying from London to New York (2002).
  17. He does, but Mills from Sydney is yet to receive one either.
  18. I'm emailing PJ for an explanation as to why we have to play Port in Alice every year, and to see if we can possibly get another opponent next year. It feels like a genuine away game when we play Port there.
  19. I'm emailing Jackson on Monday to request that he requests to the AFL that our Alice Springs game not be against Port.
  20. A critical re-signing. We can ill afford another Frawley like departure.
  21. The last time we won an away game at Etihad- Rd 12 2006 vs Essendon the last time we beat St Kilda at Etihad - Rd 22 2002 (I'm pretty sure)
  22. I was enjoying the night up until that announcement. Can we please at least play someone other than Port at Alice?
  23. Would be the best win of the year so far if we can knock off Freo. The NT factor, a young side backing up off a short break, beating a side we haven't beaten since Bailey had the keys. I'm stunned we're favourites ($2.45) and even more stunned we opened at $1.30.
  24. I'd only trade Salem if it had something to do with Hurley coming to MFC.
  25. Probably the right decision to move him on, but we could use his experience, cool head and superb contested marking in our defensive 50 these days.
