  1. I'd kind of laugh if Melbourne and the Dogs missed out on a license. Would be an absolute injustice.
  2. Sounds like you're taking GC for granted? I don't think we 'should' beat the Suns this week. Its an absolute 50/50 game played at a venue where the Suns obviously play their best footy at. i think it would be a fantastic win to beat the Suns on the road.
  3. In the Hogan thread apparently he's going in for scans on a finger today. So he might be an out.
  4. Apparently we threw the kitchen sink at Hooker before he re-signed with the Dons. According to Slobbo, only Pears and Howlett will be elsewhere next year for Essendon.
  5. Agree with that. He played about 20 rubbish games for Geelong, except for 2 games against us.
  6. Prior to round 4, if we looked at the block of 3 games coming up (Collingwood, Richmond and St Kilda) most here would've been happy with 2 out of 3 wins I would've thought.
  7. Oh yeah. Whoops. I'll cut and paste the post in July or whenever it is we meet again at Etihad.
  8. Could've been an oversight re:Tyson. Although the length of contract of the Tyson trade was never made public, somone on here was pretty confident he was out of contract this year. Having said that, the author could be right and Tyson might still have another year left. He's a priority signings and was fantastic v's Richmond.
  9. The goals closest to Southern Cross station and right of the tv screen.
  10. We haven't won a game in round 6 since 2006 (Geelong on a Friday night)
  11. Time to break the Etihad hoodoo. (the one where we haven't won an away game there since round 12 2006)
  12. Hopefully the MFC fan base makes up for the putrid crowd of 8,000 that turned up to the last home game there. Pathetic effort from the MFC members and supporters that day, when you consider less than 20% of members showed up.
  13. No way will Riewoldt miss. St Kilda know that he's the main reason they have a 12 game winning streak over us, and will take the risk accordingly. and his injury can't be too bad considering he played out the game. Montagna, I can see him possibly missing a week if he's got a hammy issue (hamstring awareness is the trendy term these days) given the short week.
  14. Thanks for the update. It's weird. Essendon have just re-signed Hooker to a mega deal and also Colyer. And yet, we have everything going for us for the time being and we have Watts, Kent, Tyson, Jetta, McDonald and a couple of others out of contract. I'll be really disappointed in those players if their re-signings are dependent on Hogan staying.
  15. Anyone know how his contract re-negotiations are travelling. Someone posted here that he was hoping to sign a 3 year contract extension before round 1....
  16. To the poster begging for this to not be a repeat of the Essendon game, I can't see how this would be a repeat in the event of a loss. Richmond were supposed to be a finals contender while Essendon were supposed to not even win a game. Plus we're not even favorites in this one. A loss on Sunday night would not be the epic disaster that the Essendon debacle was. As long as we have a crack and play 4 qtrs, the loss would merely be a slight hiccup. To borrow a cliche, if we play like we did the last 2 weeks, the result will look after itself.
  17. Knowing our luck he'll probably play 80% game time, kick 3 goals and have 25 touches.
  18. If we are playing in China and the NT still want us for 2 games, can anyone for-see the possibility of the following next year: 7 home games at the MCG 1 home game in China 1 home game in Darwin 1 home game in Alice Springs 1 home game at Etihad (the AFL will always schedule us a home game there) I would be bitterly disappointed if that happened.
  19. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-22/chinese-whispers-is-melbourne-the-second-team-for-the-shanghai-match http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-22/suns-to-play-power-in-china-experiment Interview with PJ suggests that we'll be scaling our NT arrangement from 2 matches down to 1. The annual Alice Springs game with Port looks likely to be finished, and with Gold Coast being speculated as Port's opponent in China, there's a high possibility that we'll be playing one more home game at the G next year.
  20. Would be playing for Casey this week if available. Has had a really poor year as evidenced by Inside footy's player rating system, whereby he's scored 11/30. Conversely Viney has scored 27/40. Seems constantly injured ever since he stepped foot in the door.
  21. If that's the case, 36,000 people should be writing PJ an email at the end of the year, urging the club to withdraw at least one of it's 2 games in the NT. It would be a tragedy if we missed finals because we sacrificed 2 home game. In relation to the over reaction by Gerard W, I think it's more than warranted. We're just too inconsistent to be in finals discussion at this point in time. If we beat Richmond, St Kilda, Brisbane and one of Gold Coast or Bulldogs over the next 5 weeks (6-3 after rd 9), then we can have a genuine discussion about finals.
  22. Yeah find it hilarious that he left Melbourne because he hates playing in defence. And then they throw him in defence late in the game because he did stuff all up fwd. Hes at his best as an intercepting 4th defender but he and Buckley haven't worked that out yet.
  23. I assume you've made that up but it will probably be the outcome in the end. As I've stated earlier, we must avoid drafting interstate players at all costs. Unless we're Hawthorn or North (who have an impeccable retention record) it's going to end in tears.
  24. Have St Kilda gone past us? level against the premiers at 3qtr time.
  25. I can't remember a time we've played 2 horribly out of form sides in consecutive weeks. Going to be an interesting fortnight.
