And we can remarkably still be in the 8 next week even if we lose to Richmond if the following results go our way: St Kilda beat Collingwood today and next week: Adelaide beat GC North beat Freo Geelong beat St Kilda Collingwood beat Essendon
-
Disappointing loss. However Freo may actually end up being a 5th-8th side this year so at the end of the year this result may look as bad as it seems.
-
Good point.
-
We were all still "kicking the cat" over our 38 point loss to Sydney from the previous Saturday Night?

Probably a reality check that half of the AFL players get on the darts from time to time. You'd imagine it wouldn't have any impact on his fitness if he's having a couple once in a blue moon. But I agree that it's a poor look.

If Spencer doesn't get selected this week, with an appointment with the tallest ruckman in the league coming up, he'd be well in his rights to quit the club immediately. Absolute lunacy if Spencer isn't 100% in the side already.
-
I saw Watts clutch at his hammy with 3 minutes left down at the Lockett fwd pocket. Hopefully he was just sore or cramped up after his massive day in the ruck. Full credit to him for stepping up.
-
Are we supposed to be impressed with those stats for an AFL listed ruckman in a VFL game? Seems pretty standard stats to me.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 3
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
They are average at Etihad but they did beat the Dogs by 50 odd points there last year. Still rather play Geelong at Etihad than Kardina Park. -
Geez I'm shocked Rowe got selected this week, even though he had severe concussion.

Brayshaw was a liability last week so no issue with his omission. Plus he's so slow for the modern game. -
Training - Thursday 6th April, 2017

I think Misson said Hibberd will resume via the VFL next weekend. -
At least you know he's playing for survival, will give it 110% and not carry on like a petulant child like the bloke he's replacing.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 3

That's great that Goodwin's plan suits Etihad, but we might want to fix our MCG form considering we play there 8 more times than Etihad. -
TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 3

According to the Casey pre-season thread, Tim Smith could barely run out the last quarter of last weeks game and couldn't provide any defensive running/pressure. If that's true, he ain't playing AFL on Saturday. -
Looking forward to seeing whether Rowe lines up this week when you consider the dramatic doctors report which was at pains to highlight his serious concussion issues. If he does play, either of two things are at play here. (1) Carlton are breaching a duty of care by allowing one of their players to play the week after experiencing dramatic delayed concussion symptons such as dizziness, compromised vision and nausea or (2) Carlton's doctor flat out lied which is breach of a doctor's code of ethics I would've thought. Surely Rowe sits this week out.....right?

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

If Brayshaw doesn't kick on this year, perhaps we could throw him in the mix. Crows need mids. -
Fremantle- yes. Richmond - 50/50.
-
The CFC's doctor report emphasised the seriousness of Hogan's actions on Sam Rowe by reporting that the victim had delayed concussion, dizziness and nausea. Therefore, I'd be shocked if Rowe plays this week. Concussion is a serious issue these days and it would be irresponsible of the Carlton Football Club to trot him out against Essendon this Sunday. Surely the Doc wouldn't have added some 'mayo' onto his report.
-
Very fair. He was second best in the coaches award vs Carlton and clearly BOG against St Kilda.
-
No.

The Lewis one stings the most. Against Geelong, we were never going to have either of them play. Hopefully against Freo, we can scrounge a win without both of them. But to then not have Lewis for the Richmond game in a massive Anzac Day eve game....hurts.
-
Well done Jordan Lewis. Great that you can bring all that leadership from Row S in the stands for 3 weeks.

I thought we tried to break into jail but Carlton are so bad they didn't let us.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
McCartin's going to be a very special player. Time will tell who will end up having the better career. Saints made the right move as Riewoldt isn't going to be there forever. He was nearly done last week.
