I reckon someone had a very long afternoon and evening before typing this.

Pedersen takes Weideman's spot in the early rounds. i appreciate he did a couple of nice things today including a strong contested mark inside 50 but I don't think he's ready yet.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the 3 that gets omitted at the last minute. If he does play, I'd like to see him on Crameri, while the McDonalds take Tom Boyd and Cloke.

St Kilda have a commercially fantastic draw with 4 Friday night games as Gil barracks for them, which is on public record.

This isn't the bloke that promised Rory Sloane's parents that the MFC would pick him at pick 19 in the 2008 draft??. Then proceeded to overlook him twice- Strauss and then Bennel at pick 35.

We're also missing Frost. Dogs missing Bontempelli, Dickson, Picken, Smith and Wood from their grand final side. So the quantity of outs are pretty similar for both sides.

Likely Thursday morning.

Then he sued Grinter/defendant a couple of years later according to "Open Mike". Last time I went out there, we had a cheap win over Fitzroy in their dying days with Farmer kicking some freak goal on the boundary line at the Barkly St end.

Hopefully we can start the Premiership hangover to end all hangovers for the Dogs.

Grand Final Squad of 2000 vs Now
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Engorged Onion's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely he is. -
No issue with it. We lacked onfield leadership last year when the wheels fell off spectacularly against Essendon, Carlton and St Kilda x2.

The reason for the hype is that they're building a ripper list that will be top 4 as early this year. If they can overcome their interstate hoodoo and go 3-3, they will finish top 4. Unlike the Dees, they actually use their home-ground to advantage winning 9 of their last 12 at Etihad, meanwhile we can't even beat rubbish sides like Carlton and Essendon on our home turf. To add insult, the Saints won 3 from 3 at the G. Unlike us, they can actually beat the sides below them when they're heavy favourites. We on the other hand lose to sides that either have 11 of their best players suspended or face a team on an 11 game losing steak that had packed up for the year. As much I don't like it, they will play finals before us I fear.

Saints are flogging us by 2000-3000.

Yeah Lyon said something like: I can't work out this team. They had an inspiring and awesome win over Hawthorn and then followed that up with 2 stinking losses against Port (pretty sure we won but I stand corrected) and Carlton. Earlier in the week he also said we beat West Coast last year. i might be a bit pedantic when it comes to details like that, but a bloke earning serious money in the media shouldn't be making sloppy mistakes like that.

Players Strike....Thoughts
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
The players can go and get nicked. Fat chance I'm driving from Pakenham to Footscray in week 1 of the JLT just to see a bunch of overpaid over privalaged people sit on the grass while the umpire bounces the ball. If they're not happy they can always get a depressing 9-5er job paying 70k a year like the rest of society. -
Hoping he can be another Tory Dickson of at the very least Sam Lloyd from Richmond.

Training - Friday 27th January, 2017
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Wizard333's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is the part that I don't understand about list management in the AFL. At the end of 2015, they had a high quality player and person retire who clearly wanted to play on and clearly had some miles left in the leg (had a 37 possession game in his second last match of his career). Instead they retain a player like Terlich who was no where near selection in 2015 and became even further away in 2016. Yes, I know Terlich was under contract but the precedent was set a couple of years earlier with the delisting of Evans. I wonder if Cross would've made any difference to our infamous losses to Essendon and Carlton last year, just like we question if Jordan Lewis would've made any difference. Sorry to derail the training thread, but I thought it was poor move letting Cross go. -
Bring back the old days of a 3 man leadership group: Captain - Jones Vice Captain - Viney Deputy Vice Captain - T Mac or Gawn

Looks like a similar score line to some of the men's games a couple of years ago. -
2017 Finals Here we come....
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
Imagine if we had North in round 4. Record would be like 2-45 -
Gee people around here underrate Howe (probably because he wears different colours) Howe inevitably played 1 stinker a year and people seemed to remember those more than the majority of games when he was heavily involved as an effective 4th defender which is what he's doing at Collingwood. His elite intercept marking would've made him a staple in our defence last year, this year and next year if he were still at the club.

Which Clubs to rise and fall 2017

St Kilda WILL finish top 4 and make a prelim at the least. I see them as the next power house of the comp. -
2017 Finals Here we come....
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
I really find it hard to see us winning 13 games to ensure a finals birth. Realistically, we'd have to: Go 9-3 at the MCG (no more silly losses to Carlton, Port etc...) Go 2-2 at Etihad (good luck beating 2 of Essendon, St Kilda and Geelong at our hell hole) Go 2-4 interstate (bloody tough assignments against West Coast, Adelaide x2, GWS and North in Tassie where they are near dominate) -

Dr Google reckons it's an 8 week recovery. So 6 more weeks of rehab to be conservative and he should be in full training around Feb 20- 27 at the latest, and hopefully be right to play West Coast in the final pre-season game on March 9, followed by a Casey hit out. I would be unpleasantly surprised if he misses round 1. -

Seems odd that this hasn't made the news or even the MFC website. A 2-3 month injury to a best 22 player.
